Recyclotron
Features
This mod adds a set of recipes to the game. The recipes fall into two categories:
- Recipes that allow "recycling" of finished goods to raw materials (at the rate of about 50% resource recovery)
- Recipes that "make sense", like being able to craft a stick from a sapling, or craft one bone meal from 4 rotten flesh.
The goal of this plugin is not to break the game, but give an alternative to incineration when dealing with some of the resources that always seem to pile up and fill up chests.

Got an Idea?
User suggestions welcome.
My main rule is that you can reclaim about 50% of the material cost (always rounding down) or the conversion somehow makes some sort of sense. For example, I have an idea to convert 4 rotten flesh into 1 bone meal, based on the idea that the bits of bone picked out of the rotten flesh might just have enough make one bone meal. It would also keep rotten flesh from stacking up so much.
why not Bucket back to at least one iron ingot... (or two).
Now with armor!
any ETA on armor?
@iorunner
It has been determined that permissions will happen. However, it will interface only with the built-in permissions system in bukkit, so no dependencies on other plugins (as a general rule, I avoid depending on other plugins... except Vault when necessary).
@shadvalentine
Ah. I see I'll need to handle PrepareItemCraftEvent, and do some logic with it. I'll put in a ticket for myself.
And yes, armor is on the list. I'll put in a ticket for it, though, so I don't forget. It'll have to be at least 3 helms/chestplates/etc, though, because 2 will trigger the "repair" recipe.
Also, as a general rule, any sort of similar style recycling recipe a person thinks of, don't hesitate to make a ticket. It gives me a simple way to look at the requests. I may not actually do them all, naturally.

No ender chest has a permission for crafting the enderchest .. if you are below BilderII on my server you can not even build a chest .. you can put the items in the crafting table, it will show the craftable item .. but when you try to pull it out it drops it back in and says you do not have permission to build that
Also are you going to be adding armor to the recycle items .. i have sevral iron helms that are waiting for me to smelt them ;-)
@iorunner
I did not see a way to attach permissions to recipes. If someone knows of a way to do that, I could consider your request.
Are there plans to add permissions? If so, I humbly request you add PermissionsEx support first. :)
After some thought, I agree with shad and brandon.
Of course, it doesn't make the recipe a bad idea in itself.
It just makes it a poor fit for this plugin.
So I reckon this'll mean I'll need another recipe based plugin.
For example, I've considered the following recipes:
1 redstone + 1 glowstone -> 1 sulfur 1 glowstone + 1 sulfur -> 1 redstone 1 sulfur + 1 redstone -> 1 glowstone
(Of course I think the numbers will need tweaking, but you get the idea).
These, too, are not a good fit for this plugin.
I agree with BrandonAest .. I would say not making diamonds ... I would however like to see armor added to it .. same way the weapons and tools would work fine i think
making diamonds is a bad idea. Its a reclaim plugin.... not lets mass produce the most useful thing in the game plugin.
@Xehara
So, I like two those, but here's what I think I'm going to do with them....
1 Dirt + 1 Tall Grass -> Grass (this way at least you need to have shears in order to do this)
I'm not so sure about a gunpowder making recipe... I have to do some more thinking.
I think that Coal and Sand makes diamonds too easy, but I have an alternative related to it:
1 Coal or Charcoal + 4 Pistons -> 1 Diamond (the coal/charcoal turns into the diamond, the pistons "break" in the creation of the diamonds) (I like this better because it is "expensive" in that it costs the iron and redstone necessary to make the pistons).
Suggestions:
works for me ... allready tested it and it seems to be working well ;-)
@shadvalentine
I uploaded a new version. Once Recyclotron 1.3.1.1 is available, recipes involving tools are available.
The only problem is that because of how item repair works, it requires at least 3 tools to use the recipes. Best I could do.
can you make it so it has to be full durability .. this way you have to combine items to restor durability first
@shadvalentine
That fits in with the general rule, but I think it might have to yield iron ore so that it has to be re-smelted.
Also not sure how durability fits into it, because I certainly don't want to give 1 iron ore for a tool that has only one use left.
i would like to see iron weapons and tools .. so we can finaly do someting with all those iron items we get from mobs
I am thinking for a iron sword you would get 1 iron ingot and for 2 iron shovels you would get 1 iron ingot
If you happen to have an idea for a particular recipe (in the same vein of what I'm going for here), please feel free to write a ticket.
