Rankup

A simple, lightweight plugin, allowing your players to pay to switch ranks on a pre-determined track. You can configure a different track of ranks by which your players can progress on, and define a price for each rank. This plugin works with any Vault compatible permissions plugin, such as PermissionsEx and GroupManager.
This plugin is dependent upon Vault.
Note: While this plugin has not been updated in a while, it still should work on the latest version of Spigot/Craftbukkit. If it is not working, there is probably a problem with your configuration, or you do not have Vault.

Installation
Download the latest version of the plugin here. Put the file in your server's plugins folder. When you start/reload your server, the configuration file will be created automatically.
Additionally, this plugin requires Vault and an economy and permissions plugin compatible with Vault.
Then, you need to edit the configuration which will be inside your /plugins/rankup/ folder under the name 'config.yml.' Follow the configuration guide to configure the plugin.
Once you have configured the plugin to your liking, type /rankup reload.
Rankup Signs: To create a Rankup sign, simply enter "[Rankup]" ( without the quotes ) on the first line of a sign. Do not add any other text to the sign. When you right click the sign, you will rankup as if you had entered the /rankup command.
Commands
- /rankup - Rank up to the next available rank.
- /rankup version or /rankup v - Check the version of the plugin currently running.
- /rankup reload or /rankup r - Reload the configuration.
Permissions
- rankup.* - Grant all rank up permissions.
- rankup.rankup - Ability to do /rankup ( Not /rankup v or /rankup r, they require seperate permissions)
- rankup.version - Ability to do /rankup version or /rankup v
- rankup.reload - Ability to do /rankup reload or /rankup r
- rankup.sign - Ability to create and remove Rankup signs.

2. Ranking up adds you to the group for that world only.
3. First rankup works, not others.
Please fix, this is the only plugin that can do rankups correctly.

That's not to do with the plugin, it's to do with the worlds plugin that you use, in other words you should mirror the two worlds you wish to have the same ranks, groups, commands in.

Posted Mar 27, 2014When I rankup it only ranks me up in that world. When I go to a different one I am still the last rank. I am using pEX for my permissions. Can someone tell me how to fix this.

Posted Mar 19, 2014If you're having the issue of the rankup not working and their ranks staying the same but losing their money anyways, install the 1.6.2 version of vault instead of running the 1.7 version. Vault 1.2.27.
Fixed mine when I was having the issue.

Posted Mar 18, 2014Hey, I have quite a problem with your plugin. Basically I have a prison server with 4 ranks (A,B,C,D). I use pex and rank up signs. The problem is that people can rankup from A to B, but they can't rank up from B-C and further on. When someone does try to rankup to C it takes their money but keeps them the same rank. And yes other ranks also have permissions to rankup. I really like the plugin overall, but I really need your help to sort out this problem. Thanks.

The problem is simply that it is adding the player to the rank in the current world, rather than just the player themselves.
EDIT: I switched my Vault version to an earlier release and it works just fine again. But, for the next update, could you add message customization support? Thanks! It also doesn't seem to be working well with PermissionsEx inheritance.

As far as I am aware, the plugin is currently broken. I intend on updating the plugin as soon as possible, but that may be a while. In the meantime, I suggest finding another plugin to use for the time being.

Posted Mar 4, 2014Can we use this plugin to rankup with an item in inventory? Instead of currency to rankup, can the plugin check the player's inventory for a specific item, and if they have enough of it, they can rankup?
