Random Arena

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This plugin creates an arena in which players receive items upon killing waves of enemies. Enemies that spawn in the waves are random and after defeating a certain number of waves, special events may occur, like a "boss" wave or a storm may come and randomly strike at you.

Features

  • Creates a wave of enemies upon arena game start
  • Killing a wave of enemies results in the player receiving an enchanted item (such as food or armor), and a new wave is spawned
  • After a certain number of waves are killed, a boss appears
  • Sometimes, a storm may come which brings lightning or a torrent of rain

Usage

To use the Random Arena plugin, download the .jar file into your plugins folder and then start a multiplayer game on your localhost server. Once in the game, use the '/random set <x1> <z1> <x2> <z2>' command to teleport to a new area (for example, the coordinates 1000 1000 1050 1050), which should be surrounded by walls of Obsidian that mark the boundaries of the arena. At this point, you should not be able to move. Use the '/random start' command to start the game. You will be able to move, and a wave of enemies will spawn. Then have fun killing enemies and receiving items and enchantments for it! In order to go to a new area, use the '/random cancel' command to cancel the current arena and use the '/random set <x1> <z1> <x2> <z2>' command again, this time with new coordinates. If more than one player wants to participate, have one player set the arena and the other players use /random teleport to join. Then the person that set the arena should use /random start when every player is ready.

Commands

  • /random help: shows the available commands for this plugin
  • /random set <x1> <z1> <x2> <z2>: teleports the player to a new arena area
  • /random start: starts the game by creating an initial spawn of enemies
  • /random cancel: cancels the current game and allows the player to move to a different location and start a new game
  • /random teleport: allows other players to join the game, teleporting them to the person that set the arena
  • /random spawn: forcibly spawn monsters when the players have a hard time finding enemies to kill in the area
