Development build: Version 0.2.4
Bukkit version: CraftBukkit-1.1-R6
Spout version: Spout plugin build 737
Wondering how work is coming along? Check out the github development branch.
Quick description
This plugin optimizes spout and your preferred economy plugin! Using spout I have added 5 physical coins to the game, adding an actual "currency" to it. The 5 coins are: Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. One is available through crafting recipes, which can be read further down the page. The main objective of this plugin is to create a more practical use of economy money. People will now be able to actually steal money from each other, either by finding coins in a chest, or killing a player who is carrying coins. Players can also show off their money if they like, although that probably wouldn't be a smart thing to do on their part. The plugin comes with a few nice features, like a GUI, that I'll be going over in the next section.
Planned for the future
A complete re-write, visit this page to help with the development
Recipes, Screen shots, and change-logs. Oh my!
There are also a few new crafting recipes which I will go over in this section.
In disbelief? Here are some screen shots to prove it :D

Updated for R6
@zOxigen00
Unfortunately not, this will not work without the spout plugin, as it needs spouts code to allow the custom blocks and items.
This is just awesome, is this work without Spout?
OK Ok :)
@QweSteR2221
This is brand new, it's still in beta :P Plus this isn't a stand alone economy system, it uses iConomy or BOSeconomy, or whatever economy system you use. I still have to make the API and stuff for this but I've never made an API before so it's going to take me some time because I'm learning as I go.
all plugins not support this economy system :( izone, stargete, spoutshop, BukkitInventoryTools, CookieMonster and .....
@Devboi
People can't make gold coins unless they have the right permission. I'm not sure if I want to make the coin values configurable, because then id have to make the crafting recipes and outputs configuraable as well. I'll think about it though.
Personally I have no idea how to use spoutshops with this, I've only used it once and that was to test and make sure I fixed a bug when the 2 were used together.
And ya you could lock a chest I guess lol but I just like the idea that its coins only :p
@nickythepig
Thanks, glad you like it! :D
SO * AWESOME!!!!
@Jacob_perry
So you could really just use a chest and lock it? but the vault is more for effect :D
Would you be able to explain how I make the spoutshop use Coinz?
also could you make the coin values configurable
as 4 gold nuggets = 1 gold coin = 100$
thats too much on my server
people can overwhelm the market just by killing zombies...
@Devboi
The point of the vault is kinda like a chest. It's for people who run servers that only want a single server bank, and not allow players to craft them. In this case, the vault will act like a chest for coins, and will have a security pad on it which I just finished, but I'm planning on keeping a private release for the server I work for, just for a bit.
This allows players to store coins at their homes, and not have to walk all the way to the server bank, If there is a shop close to them they can simply get money from their vaults and head on over to the shop.
And I like that use of it! :) Makes it very very interesting. Allows regular players without spout to buy normal items, and those that use spout to get the advantages of spout items :)
@Jacob_perry
nice 1 :D
Im still not sure what the purpose of a vault is for as u convert the coinz into virtual money with the teller block
But I have realised a perfect use for the coinz and the spout shops
People can purchase all the spout items but ONLY using the Minecraft currency :D
so that they have to withdraw money as coins to get spout items - this will work well with the spout guns mod
I dont really want people making gold coins so easily if its worth 100$
is this adjustable?
Update! :D Please read the change-log and known caveats before you download :D
I will also be updating the main post and other pages through out the next couple of days, please bare with me :P
@Darkbeast20
Have you given yourself the permission node to craft them?
And this does have iConomy support, that's what the money system is based from. For other plugins to recognize this they would have to add support themselves at the moment, because I haven't gotten around to making the API, to busy trying to do something else with it atm.
For the chest shop thing, I might at some point create my own chest shop plugin, though I don't see a need too now that spoutshops supports this.
I don't get what you mean by typing a bunch of stuff because the only typing required in this is the amounts you wish to withdraw/deposit...
And I suck at making textures, as you can see. You can open the jar file with winrar/7-zip and replace the images in there with your own versions if you like. Also if you really fancy the textures you made you can send them to me. If I like them then I'll use them instead of mine.
@Jacob_Perry
For Some Reason in V 0.0.8 i cant make the Teller box thing
Suggestion-
You Should add i Conomy support, and a way for other plugins to recognize it and let you trade the coins in like some sort of chest shop instead of typing a bunch of stuff. :D Mostly, And virtual is too hard to keep up with and it easier to trade coins than type a bunch of stuff. And Please Re-texture the coins and teller.
@MinerHax444
I am going to add the mobs drop coins function :) A lot of people seem to be interested in it. Everything for that of course will be configurable.
The name is going to change to that in the next release :P Was waiting for the next release because the name on load would be different from this if I didn't.
And your assumption is correct. I'm adding a pin to the vault. Make it a little more secure :)
Once again, thank you :) It's really encouraging when people show interest in the things you're working on
@Jacob_perry
Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot that I'd set my group to "admin" to test your plugin, and that one has all permissions.
And yeah, I think you might be right about that. The only way to do the mob dropswould be from inside the plugin or with a plugin that uses your API.
Also, if you don't mind me asking, why do you not have the name as Coinz like it is in your Github? I thought that was a really cool name. :D
And the vault with pin code thing (I assume that's what you're doing, once again from GitHub) looks really cool. Good luck with that. :)
I love the idea behind this plugin, and I hope you continue developing it for a long while! :D
@MinerHax444
I've added a permission node to the gold coin .... Don't remember if a made a release on it or not though...
With data values, I'm not sure if they stay the same. Like if you have another plugin that adds items, and it registers first, I don't know if it would change the ones that I see now. I'll check what they were again and edit out this part with the info, I don't remember what the exact range was.
And that statement actually wouldn't work the way that I'm doing it. It's pretty much exactly what I have now. What's happened is I didn't expect people to try to take out less then 0,1 so I never went about checking the value to see if it had reached 0. I think I have a fix however.
I'll make a release today, but I'll have to ask that nobody uses the vaults as it could cause some problems
@Jacob_perry
What are the durability values, though? That's what I meant in my earlier post, and I see that you posted it down there.
I found a bug while using the teller. When I withdraw less than $0.1, the money is still taken from my account, but I obviously don't get a coin because the value is too low. It would be cool if you could just implement an if, then statement like so:
Also, now that you have the Vault integration figured out, could you please make the recipe for gold coin configurable, or remove it all together? My users being able to craft gold coins pretty much ruins our entire economy system. :(
And yeah, that's exactly why I like this plugin — the /money pay command is really cheap.
@MinerHax444
The thing is, the data value from the spout plugin recognizes it as flint. It may be possible, but it'll probably be easier when the spout framework comes out.
As for the feature request, I'm currently creating a "vault" which will be used only for coins. I haven't completed yet because I need a way to persist the data, and I'm having troubles with it.
Currently there is no config for which coins can be used and can't be used, and the only reason I haven't made their values configurable is because 10 seems like an even interval. I may add something in the future once everything else is working properly, but I'll wait and see.
I'm really glad you like this :) And I agree, the command to pay seems a little too easy, as you can pay people all the way across a map too easily. I'm hoping to have the vault done soon, but again I need to persist the inventory somehow. You will notice a few new neat things in the next release :)
@Jacob_perry @Devboi Doesn't Spout use data values, as in the kind the game uses for the different kinds of saplings/potions/wools/etc? I imagine you could use some sorta info plugin to find them?
And then a feature suggestion: I'm not familiar with the Spout API, but might it be possible to have 5 slots over to the side of the inventory where you can keep coins, and only coins? (an if-then statement that checks if the item is one of yours). This is based off the idea of the Terraria coin/ammo slots, which are really cool.
If you're not familiar with Terraria, click here for a pic of the inventory. Note the coins slot below the health meter and to the right of the main inventory.
One other suggestion I would have is, if the plugin doesn't already have this, to maybe make a config file that allows admins to choose which coins they want to use (I don't necessarily need 5 coin varieties) and to set custom values (I might want mine to increase by 64 or 100).
This is a super cool use of the Spout API. I'm not to in to the /money pay command. And since most of the people on my server love Terraria and are used to having actual coins (which actually happen to be copper, silver, gold, and plat if you don't play), we'll definitely add this plugin to our server. :)
