    You could take a look at GriefPervention...they flag theyr regions with glowstone so everyone can see "this is a region"
    or automatic create a glowstone circle in hight 250 on top of the region maybe make it more perdormace fredenly with the option "spawn x glowstone per ServerTick" (or other block ID´s for the circle)
