PotatoBombs
PotatoBombs
PotatoBombs is a bukkit plugin that allows players to craft "PotatoBombs" that explode and apply potion effects when someone tries to pick them up.
Potato-Bombs are crafted by combining a Poisonous Potato, Gunpowder, and a Dye on the crafting grid in any shape. Each dye color creates a potato bomb with a different potion effect.
All bombs are completely configurable, you can specify your own in the configuration file that gives any effect for any duration, using any dye color.
What's new 0.1.0
- Recipe requires Gunpowder
- All dyes and effects are now completely configurable.
- Now uses ItemMeta instead of custom nbt tags.
- Improved crafting
- Added an optional explosion effect.
- Should be compatible with any land-protection plugin.
- Immunity permissions now default to false for ops.

by 'most recent version' do you mean 0.1.4 or 0.1.3. What you're describing is a bug that accidentally made its want into 0.1.3's autoupdater. it SHOULD be fixed in 01.4 which is already available.
I've uploaded the most recent version of this plugin, but it keeps saying 'A new version of PotatoBombs has been downloaded and will take effect when the server restarts.', restarting does nothing as the text still appears when logging on.
a 1.5.2 build is available using the Development Builds link above.
you should allow the users to right click, and then throw a snowball, that explodes where the snowball hits, and it then applies the effect of the potato type.
in 0.1.2 you can eat the potatobombs to gain the effect. I'm not sure why you would want to, unless you've customized it to have some beneficial bombs, but you can do it. :)
@truesimzy
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it, What permission plugin are you using? I'll run some tests with it and see If I can sort out that problem. I'm using Privileges here and in all my tests as an op I didn't get any immunity.
@metalhedd
For some reason it didnt default so i had to set it up in permissions but its working now and the players on my server have been having a lot of fun with it
@truesimzy
potatobombs.immune.* should default to false for everyone (including ops)
So i am having a weird issue, ive uploaded the jar file, added in the permissions to the right groups, even restarted the server a few times but it will not allow anyone to drop the potatobombs as they are meant to be, instead it just drops them as an item.
Any ideas what i might be doing wrong?
P.S yes it lets people craft them too
Edit: So i worked out what the problem was, turns out you need to set the ignore permission as a denied permission in order for it to work for regular players
thanks :D
@CoasterCrazy
I am not allowed to link to off-site downloads so you have to wait for the new version to be approved by the DBO team.
EDIT: I set up PotatoBombs on Travis-CI so development builds will be available there and the link is at the bottom of the description page. I'm still working on getting it to compile properly w/ travis so the builds are currently failing but a working one should show up soon.
@CoasterCrazy
Removed in version 0.1.1, should be approved shortly, in the meantime, you can download it "unofficially" here:
Is there a way to turn off the potatobomb logging whenever any potion splashes? My logfile quickly grew to over 100 mb in a matter of minutes when we did a Witch moshpit.
Brand new version 0.1.0 is pending approval. Its a complete rewrite, greatly improved. The description above is for the new release.
@Thrystor
okay I remember reading about that change. I'll have a build ready for when it a beta is released.
@metalhedd
The problem is just that in the new snapshot Bukkit changed the names of certain imports. Apparently now imports for "NMS" (Whatever that is) change with every Bukkit update.
@Thrystor
a bug report with any errors from the server log would be helpful :) https://github.com/andrepl/PotatoBombs/issues
@metalhedd
Nope. Broken.
@Thrystor
It shouldn't be affected by the BlockFace direction changes if that's what you mean. I haven't tested it on R0.3 though so I can't say for sure.
Does it work on 1.4.5 0.3? I know most plugins don't.
