PExChat Multigrouped
About PExChat MultiGrouped
PExChat is a fork of version 2.3.3 of the very popular iChat. This fork has a twist however, in that it enables you to use multiple groups and group prefixes/suffixes in the chat formatting, as opposed to the single group and prefix/suffix available in the original plugin. PExChat requires the PermissionsEx permissions management plugin.
Features
- Allows you to utilise prefixes/suffixes for users and groups
- A user-specific prefix/suffix will take priority over a group prefix/suffix
- Colours are supported in all parts of the formatting and chat text
- Usable health bar and health amount in the formatting
- Supports users with multiple groups
- Configurable censoring

The diplomatic approach would be to try a friendly request for me to add the copyright notice sans threats of project removal. Don't assume I left them out on purpose, it was really just an oversight more than a year ago. Since you asked so very kindly, I am adding the notices now.
It is against the GPL to remove the copyright or in any way imply that you are the original author of a GPL copyrighted project.
I am kindly requesting you re-add the following copyright notice to each sourcecode file before I send a takedown notice to BukkitDev to have the project removed:
@Sleelin
Thanks so much for the reply. I love the simplicity of this plugin and it does one thing that i can't get any other chat formatting plugin to do! Multiple Groups prefixed to people's names!
I have tried almost every other chat plugin out there, but this one is the only one that does that so I am glad to hear that you will keep it updated no matter what happens to pex :D
@jacklink01
It will definitely get ported to 1.3/4 API once it is released and everyone starts shifting (even if PEx doesn't shift, I will work it into whatever other permissions plugin takes its place). If you're after some features shoot a ticket my way and I'll see what I can do
@Lars1011
Most certainly you can as the plugin is open source, just open a github account and fork my project located here, reupload any changes you make, and after, submit a pull request and I will confirm, build and upload the patched version here.
Can I get permission to update it to the latest CB Version?
Any plans to continue development of this plugin? I still works fine, but needs a few touch ups here and there and I expect it will need many after the release of 1.3.
THANKS This Plugin is WOW Thanks to the Developer!!!!! Create
The plugin doesn't create a config file and when I use the /pexchat reload command it says: 'An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command'
Does this plugin have the /me command built into it? I can't tell if our /me usage is coming from this plugin or not. If it is, could you please add a permission for it? We have players using /me to talk while muted. :/ Thanks
hello, this plugin look so nice but I'm bit confused .. I have prefixes in permissions.yml but I want to group admins have different text from other users .. I'd like to have bigger examples of thoose two files and their output. Thank you
@devilquak
Yes, this will work with Factions. All you have to do is put in [FACTION] somewhere in message-format, and Factions will automatically replace it with the faction name :D
I've got a question... normal ChatManager doesn't like to work alongside Factions, i.e. Factions completely messes it up. I'm wondering if there's any word on how this works alongside it?
Thanks for the good looking chat.
message-format: '&8+world&f +prefix+name+suffix&f +message'
Thats the recipe for Cheeseburgers.
@haveric
Merged. Uploading new build to BukkitDev now.
If anyone needs this plugin for their R5+ server and can't wait, here is a temporary download from what I fixed up that has been working for me: Removed temporary link. Go download Sleelin's updated version.
@Sleelin
Glad I can help, I didn't test the new Configuration too thoroughly, but it seemed to be working. You might want to verify that everything is still the way it should be just in case.
@haveric
Saw it, reviewing it before making the pull - so far so good though
I *was* working on this, but since you kindly made all the changes already, I'll probably just go with your version. Good job!
I committed an update on github that updates this to the new Events and Configuration systems. Hopefully Sleelin will see it soon.
It would be best if you'd update it to work with "ISO-8859-1" charset. or you could just use UTF-8 ...
Because i always get an" internal error" with my swear-word list, if the characters i use are like: í ó ú é or something like that.
@waybaker
It already works fine with 1.0 as-is
