What is MineQuest?
MineQuest is a customizable roleplaying plugin. It contains fully customizable abilities, classes, and quests. You can gain experience and level up to increase your abilities and use addons to MineQuest to create your custom experience. And best of all, MineQuest comes with instanced dungeons support built right into its Core. Oh, and Javascript support.

Quests:
Quests can range from simple gather missions, where the players must gather an amount of a resource, to massive dungeons and giant boss fights. This allows players to design and share their Quests with the masses. With help of our quest design helper, players can design Quests to create whatever they want.
Parties:
MineQuest also contains a party system. Any quester can create a party at any time, but they are only really used for entering Quests. When a quest is started MineQuest will attempt to bring an entire players party with them. A quester can create a party with the following command.

Although I would promote that you make your own quests all available quests are at http://theminequest.com/forums/quest-showcase.11/ The thread is mostly empty due to our recent undergoing of a complete rewrite of the plugin. More will be added soon :D

Good morning,
I have been looking around and i like this plugins for it restrictions on tools/lvls/quests in one. but only i am lazy and dont like to make my own quests. i readed there where quests+maps for download. Only the links didnt work and on the forum i couldnt find one. Is there one good? I am busy with setting up a RPG server and want to start good, so a new world/reset of something is no problem.

Also, I seem to be having an issue figuring out how to start a quest. I read hte wiki and it says that it needs someone to either punch an NPC or to complete a previous quest to acquire a quest. I set the quest to spawn some NPC's but they havn't and I can't figure out how to manually start it.
I am assuming that there is some other way to spawn an NPC and to set up the quest to use. But I am quite confused with it :P

By Races I don't mean appearances, but rather pre-set enhancements or weaknesses. For example, a "SharkHuman" could breathe under water, or a Nord wouldn't take damage in cold biomes where everyone else might. It also could grant starting abilities, such as humans are better at swordsmanship, elves at magic, dwarves at digging, etc.
The Guilds plugin tends to call them "Traits of Guilds" which is basically what I want, a group that I can define the name of which has certain traits. Guilds can currently give more or less helath depending on which "guild" a person is in as well as many other things, though they seem to be lacking some of the "unique" traits, such as fire resistance, cold resistance, water damage, etc.
Does that make sense?

Thanks for the input! We are currently working on updating the wiki. One question though, what do you mean by races. Bukkit plugins can really make changes to the appearance of human player other than skin. Modified units are only possible with mods.

MQ has some great things already I think. No offense but you guys do need to label on your wiki what is already a feature, what is in development, and what is planned. Right now it is really hard to tell which is which.
But ya, I would like to use Guilds for a Race and the MQ class system for classes, but I guess we will see what happens.
I am still looking for a really good race system though... seems that every developer is focusing on classes, which really the're should also be a focus on races too, but whatevs.
Great plugin though! I can't believe I just found out about it today! So excited for the NPC addon!

As long as you get don't use RPG, you can use Heroes. However, there is no bridge or hook connecting MineQuest and Heroes; as such, you'll have to either convince Heroes plugin developers to make a hook, or make one yourself if you wish to have Quests take advantage of Heroes features.
Is it possible to use Heroes for the skills and classes and this plugin just for quest? And if so, can I grant exp for the heroes skill via quests?

We don't have hooks, but the plugin developers are welcome to hook into the plugin. The API guide link is above.

We are hooked into vault so any economy supported by vault, we too support. (vault is also a dependency when using this plugin).
Does ist work together with essentials econemy?
Just a development update:
2.0.0 builds are ongoing! We have been making changes to the way Minequest works, allowing it to be both easier to use and much more logical.
The following changes have been made, or are planned:
Alpha one won't contain all these changes, but we'll be applying them gradually.

it says in the roadmap that your going to port to the spout server. does this mean that you intend on abandoning the bukkit/vanilla server path and instead going to the spout path?

Hi there,
You need to request MySQL from BeastNode. Then, go to database.properties and fill the information out.
We are trying to get in contact with BeastNode to figure out why this is failing on their servers.
