MCTowns
MCTowns is a powerful way to manage towns.
- Create Towns, assign them Territories, and let mayors divide them up into Plots on their own.
- WorldEdit backend means you can use WorldEdit CUI and all of your favorite WorldEdit commands to create regions of any size and shape
- WorldGuard backend means lightning-fast performance and rock-solid stability
- Mayors can restrict town membership to only people they invite, or open it up to anyone who can afford a plot
- Saves you time and reduces the workload on your moderators!
- Mayors can manage regions within Territories that have been assigned to them
- No need to ask a mod every time someone wants to join your town, or you need a new plot created.
Contact
- Send me a PM on BukkitDev. I will always respond to these.
- Post a comment here. I'll probably respond to this.
- Email [email protected]. I will always respond to these.
Basic Commands
- /mct -used for adding and deleting towns, querying basic info, etc
- /town -used to manage towns, including inviting players and adding territories
- /territory -used to manage territories, including adding plots
- /plot -used to manage plots, including adding players to plots
Metrics Collection
MCTowns tracks some stats about who uses it. They're primarily for me to feel good about myself when I see people are actually using what I make, or (in the case of bug reports) are so that I can improve the plugin so that I can continue to feel good about myself when I see people are using the plugin.
MCTowns uses MCStats. To learn what is collected and how to opt-out of collection, see the following official MCStats page:
http://mcstats.org/learn-more/
Note that as of v2.1.0, most bugs will be automatically reported for you. See the page on Automatic Bug Reporting for more information.

Did you unzip the file you downloaded? Did you install all the dependencies?
help me pls i start my server but it dosent make aany folder pls help !! :)
Hey guys. I've given the project description page a pretty big overhaul and updated a lot of the documentation. I'll be working on improving the plugin's documentation for a little bit here, so keep checking back. If you have any feedback, feel free to leave a comment!
@salto81
Yes, which is a problem, now that you mention it. Open a ticket about it so you can track progress on the feature, and I can be reminded to do it.
Hi, it seems like the config files only saves when restarting the server. What happens when the server crashes, is all the config made in the meantime lost?
Hey guys, I'm still working hard on the remote admin client. Here's a quick (~ 2 mins) demo for you all.
It shows off the visual interface, and briefly walks through how to set up a server to let a client connect to it.
Hope you enjoy: http://youtu.be/NJq2iDgCxD0

I don't actually have a list of servers who use MCTowns. I'll make one, actually.
Any servers that fully use mctowns? I want to test out how it works
Hey guys, I've been hard at work, and I've got some cool sneak peaks at upcoming features.
On showcase today is the upcoming Remote Admin Client. This is a program you'll be able to run from your computer and connect to the server, and manage things from the comfort of a desktop application.
I'm designing the application from the group-up to be as secure as possible. It uses RSA key pairs instead of passwords to authorize users, and it uses an AES secret keys to make sure any communication between the server and the client are 100% secure.
Here's an imgur album I put together. A lot of the functionality is a work in progress, but the interface itself is mostly complete. I just need to tweak the text on a few things and add some add/delete buttons here and there.
Also, note, the "look and feel" of the application will be different based on your operating system. It's designed so that if it's running on Windows, it looks like a Windows program; if it's running on a Mac, it looks like a mac program, and so on. I'm running it on Fedora linux in the demo, so it's using the GTK "Adwaita" theme.
I hope you guys are as excited as I am to see this finished!
@KlutchDecals
Well, world guard (and thus this plugin) could do this, but not easily.
Your best bet is probably to just use either polygon regions or cuboids to stitch together protection for every surface/every block. Then blanket this protection with the plot region and assign them to that.
Heres my question. . I have a town a buddy and myself built. Its a full town of houses and mini shops. Now, I want people to be able to own and build on plots (Inside the houses we built) so they can add furniture, chests, other misc. items. I know I can do this easily. My problem is. . I dont want people breaking down these houses themselves, or breaking the town outside their plot. Can i accomplish this with this plugin? Or do you know one that I can? The houses are not cuboids ether. Any suggestions?
@belchinbertha
To see boundaries, use WorldEdit CUI. When you're making regions, you're using WorldEdit.
As for setting territories: can you describe what happens when you try to set them?
Is there a way to see boundaries? Can't set territories either.
@madshoegh2111
If you're asking how much RAM the plugin uses, its memory footprint is negligible.
how many GB to one server running with to pull the plugin

These are early drafts of a remote admin client I'm working on. Right now, it's a desktop app, but it may potentially become an android app in the future. (And sorry iOS folks, they don't let you use GPL on the App Store, so I wouldn't be allowed to upload an iOS version. Nor do I really want to learn Obj-C).
How the windows look (button placement, text field placement, etc etc) are all subject to change (and are very easy to change, I can literally just drag them around in my editor). If you have any suggestions for how they should look, or want to sketch out how you think they should look, feel free to shoot me a PM with an image. Always good to have feedback. I'm not very satisfied with how the connection window looks at the moment, though functionally all the buttons and such are there. Just need to work on aesthetics.
This remote admin application will let you do basically anything except create new regions, since that'd get a bit wonky with selecting regions. I'll see if I can work something together, though.
Right now, the client will be admin-only, and has equivalent permissions as being opped or having the mctowns.admin permissions node. I might work in support for an interface mayors could use.
This is a password-less login system, and each person connecting with the client will need to generate a key pair and give the public key to the server owner, who will add it to a list of trusted public keys. They will then be able to connect to the server with the client. If you don't understand what a public or private key is, I'll have a very easy-to-understand and thorough explanation in the official documentation as I get closer to finishing this.
By the by, I uploaded v2.1.0 yesterday, and it looks like it's about to be approved. Enjoy that new version!
@Everdras
Sweet ok you won me over, Im downloading now XD lol
@Blacksmithkazuma
Yup.
is this compatible with Multiverse?
@Everdras
Sweet, you probably got a load from me saying my CB Ver was null - That's because my server is a forge one running BukkitForge :) Hope that helps :)
