MakeMeMod
MakeMeMod
PLEASE NOTE: You can take this plugin over if you want... http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/plugin-maintainer-wanted-and-bye.115768/ you can find me in the Spout forums.
MakeMeMod comes from the need to be just a normal player on the server, but be able with one command to become something more. It takes a command and an OldGroup and a NewGroup value and changes the group membership between those two groups back and forth.
It is multiworld permissions capable and can be configured via easy permissions.
The plugin allows it to test different permission groups or playing as normal player and become a moderator or admin with the ease of one command.
PLEASE read the FAQ supplied below as you need to configure the plugin correctly, otherwise you may end up with strange results!
Supports the following permission managers via VAULT... Permissions 3, bPermissions, PEX, GroupManager, PermissionsBukkit
Note: PEX requires some special config, please look into the FAQ!
Commands
- /mmm [ALIAS]
the ALIAS you configured in the config.yml file to switch between the two groups
- /[ALIAS]
a shortcut to /mmm [ALIAS]
- /mmm reload
reloads the config.yml
Permissions
- mmm.command
required to be able to use the /mmm command or the shortcut function. YOU NEED THIS as normal player - mmm.command.ALIAS
required to be able to change the configured groups back and forth via the ALIAS - mmm.reload
required to be able to use the /mmm reload command
Configuration
Some Information which is helpful for the configuration can be found here!
FAQ
- Q: What does general-perm-changes: false mean?
A: It will allow you to change the group membership only for the world the player is in. NOTE: You can only use this if you have the Groups you are using to manage also only be available in certain worlds. - Q: What is the mmm.command.ALIAS permission you talk about?
A: If you take a look at the default configuration and would like to allow somebody to use the /mmm mod alias to change from Builder to Moderator and back you would need to assign him the mmm.command.mod permission, preferable directly to his account. - Q: I can't change the groups with PEX and I'm using inheritance.
A: You need to set preferVault to FALSE! if you are using PEX. - Q: Do I need Vault if I use PEX?
A: No you don't need Vault, PEX support is build in, you may require PEX 1.16 (dev build atm) though.
ToDo
add other permission manager support on requestmake the code better- add additional commands, e.g. saveconfig

thanks for all the people using my plugin..... bye
Also please note... there will be a feature freeze till the future of bukkit has become clearer.
I will only update bugs and make the plugin work with RB.
Also do to the fact that bukkit finds it funny to cram a lot of changes into the RB's just before they release them don't except any update to happen on the next day.
hmm... could you open a ticket and post your permissions as a pastie.org or similar?
It could be because you are using per world permissions but you don't haven't set it up that way or vice versa... OR... because it is a bug :-)
Love the concept of this! Have installed and works a treat! Now we only have to don our 'staff' hats when required. One strange behaviour I have noticed though- It seems to keep hold of a copy of the PEX permissions file that it loves to overwrite the original with. To make changes stick it seems i have to logout as staff; edit the perms file; log back in and reload pex; then go back to player group. Prefer VAULT is set to 'false'
Any light you can shed on this behaviour?
