LoreLocks
LoreLocks is a plugin which allows you to physically secure your chests with chest locks and traps.
Features
- Physical, Craftable Locks
- Lockpicking
- Innovative system to pick locks
- Pickproof locks
- Keys for locks
Locks
Locks come in 6 difficulties, 1-5 change the cylinder count of the lock and the 6th difficulty makes the lock unpickable, or in other words only the person which has the key can open the lock.
To create a key of a lock simply drop a lockpick on it.
Depending on the difficulty locks have a different amount of cylinders
- Difficulty 1 has 3 cylinders
- Difficulty 2 has 4 cylinders
- Difficulty 3 has 5 cylinders
- Difficulty 4 has 6 cylinders
- Difficulty 5 has 7 cylinders
Then place it in the first slot of the chest (upper left slot) to lock the chest. Make sure to create a key by dropping a lockpick onto the lock before locking the chest if you want to avoid picking your own chest every time.
If you forget to create a key from an unpickable lock ask an admin for help, he can bypass the lock and open the chest for you.
Traps
Traps are items which will secure your chest even more, to add a trap to a chest place it in the second slot, right next to the lock.
They are triggered when a player fails to pick the chest, i.E. whenever he clicks the wrong cylinder and the lock gets reset.
Types of traps
The damage trap
Damage traps damage the player which is trying to pick the lock every time he fails to pick the right cylinder. Power determines the amount of hearts (not half hearts) which are taken away.
The explosive trap
Explosive traps create an explosion on the location of the player failing to pick the lock. The explosion does not damage any blocks. For the power of explosive traps check this wiki article.
The poison trap
Poison traps apply the poison potion effect to the player failing, the power attribute determines the level of the poison effect.
The power attribute ranges from 1-127.

Also, no commands?
For some reason I can't craft any of these. I'm using the latest version of this plugin: LoreLocks v2.2.2.3 ¡
And Spigot 1.7.10-1.8, the plugin loads but I try to craft any of these recipes bu nothing works, I can't craft anything.
@REMLIK1
I really love this plugin and came across the same problem. And i found the solution. just go into your config.yml and change all the DV values to 0. for example 'LockDV: 5' will become 'LockDV: 0'. all your locks will have to be replaced or edited though. LoreLocks will then start creating items with the right texture.
hopes this helps :)
Love the plugin and even works on CB 1.8, but the only issue i have are the graphics in game, where locks, lockpicks, and keys come up as a black and pink box, which seems like a missing texture.
Hope to see this plugin go far into the future! :)
@FlOppythp
Looks like to me, you're the one crying here. Oh, you got a server to run, Too Bad. That's your problem. Besides, If you can make the plugin yourself why don't you go make one? Unless you've got a contract with him, the author does not have any obligation to do anything.
What if I tell you, to Stop whatever you are doing in life and make a plugin that does the same thing, right now. How would you feel?
Word of advice, Don't go around calling others "kid" while acting like one yourself. No one's gonna take you seriously.
stop harasing the plugin author Fl0ppythp. he does it on his free time and does not get payed for it. you should be grateful it ever worked.
cool plugin hope it works in the future.
I'm having this strange issue where the recipes don't seem to work until I reload the plugin. The plugin works fine, no errors at all, all custom config options work, I just hate having to reload the plugin every single time I restart my server. Please fix.
@Der_Wisch as i make a gasping sound when i notice you made the keys run on lore that cant be read easy *clapping*
@FlOppythp
Back from vacation and working on hte plugin again. Only because it are only 3 lines in code does not mean it is easy to fix. The results I get in my tests are varying glitchy.
@KeanuFox
It is kinda the same althought some things are easier as the bukkit API is very broad with it's features.
@FlOppythp
The default value isn't too awful. Programming is alot of work, be patient.
Haha thanks for the in-depth explanation xD, I've actually begun watching mod tutorials and I ran into some deprecated code! I enjoy this plug in so im gunna make some Lock items to replace the iron bar with :D. Im new to the modding thing, but hopefully I will figure out things like adding new enchants and adding a skill system since there are no good option for skilling. I just dont like mcmmo that much. ):
How much harder is it to program a plugin compared to a mod?
@KeanuFox
Because Minecraft is removing the ID's in favor of easier mod developing with the upcoming modding api and consistence of data. A value of 264 could stand for everything (we all know it's diamond but it COULD stand for everything) while 'diamond' would clearly indicate that it is a diamond. They also want to prefix it with for example 'minecraft:' for vanilla items (making a diamond 'minecraft:diamond') so if I was to create a mod with the new modding api from this plugin 'lorelocks:lock' would be 100% clear the a 'lock' from the 'lorelocks'.
I think there was a tweet from jeb or dinnerbone about it but I don't find it right now.
As ID's will be 'removed after 1.8.x' bukkit considers IDs now deprecated so people stop using them and the transition to the new system will be as smooth as possible.
Haha thanks appreciate it :) I'll go look again to see if i can find the proper item names. I wonder why they consider item IDs as deprecated?
ok i eventually got it working xD so that was the proper one it was another item in there i was changing that broke everything. ty for the help! great plugin!
@KeanuFox
I just switched from using ID's just a few versions ago.
The reason I switched was that since mojang is going away from using ID's they are marked deprecated in the bukkit source aswell. That alone is not a problem (execpt for some annoying warnings when compiling) but generally it is better not to use deprecated code.
You could check your server-startup. Some mods show their material name mapping on startup.
I'll do a quick search when I'm back from work and maybe reintroduce it as some kind of optional feature.
Hello, I enjoy this plugin and what it brings to the table, though I am wondering if you would be willing to add the ability to use items from mods as the Keys, Locks, and Lockpicks. Via an ID or something such as 'CUSTOMNPCS_NPCSKEY2'. I have tried many things, but it just seems the plugin lacks the ability to utilize mod items that look nices than say, a blaze rod. Please consider it, if not, no offence taken, it would just be an awesome feature. :)
@PikachuEXE
I'll update the documentation some time soon.
And you're right doors are locked by rightclicking it with a lock. Be sure to make a key before.
All good now...worked it out, had to enable it through Essentials.
Der_Wisch thanks for building this plugin!
I plan to use this for events on my server (like lock picking race or lock pick to get treasure)
I just thought might be worth sometime updating the documentation
about SkeletonKey, protection and configs like HideLocks.
Also don't know how lock a door...right click with lock?
@Reharn
It looks like you have difficulties to understand the permission system of Bukkit, check out this wiki articles, they can explain it better than me.
General description, a bit outdated - http://wiki.bukkit.org/Understanding_Permissions
Description of the permissions.yml file of your server - http://wiki.bukkit.org/Permissions.yml
PermissionsEx, a plugin for managing permissions, alternative to the permissions.yml - http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/permissionsex/
@IcyShadowBlade
You need to create a key before adding it to the door. Just put the lockpick on the lock before adding it to the door.
I've got the chest keys working with lorelocks, but how do I create keys for doors once I put a lock on it?
