LocalChat
A simple chat plugin that makes you talk in a limited range. This plugin overrides basic chat, so just type like normal, and your text will automatically be limited to the range specified in the configuration!

- Configurable "no players nearby" message
- Configurable "range" (default: 1000 blocks)
- Global Chat
- Configurable "prefix" (default: !)
- Configurable format
- Configurable "prefix" (default: !)
Permissions
- localchat.global: Default true
- Allows players to send messages to the world
- Allows players to send messages to the world
- localchat.listen: Default false
- Allows players to listen to local chat messages (even if they are out of range)
Compatible with
- Most Chat Format Plugins
- IgnoreChat
- Factions
Do not use with
- ChannelChat
- BOTH ChannelChat and LocalChat are plugins that add "channels," or otherwise change the behavior of chat, to the server. They will NOT work well together.
What is happening with this plugin and chatchannels, they are both amazing, but using !, doesn't work until I know the permission for it, which isn't listed. When ever some one logs on channelchat says 'Your active channel is: null' and I tried using /cc set, to set a channel to auto-join, I also made a channel have auto-join set to true in the config, reloaded etc, and it still doesnt auto join. Help would be very appreciated, there arent many good chat plugins out there, and I would love getting either one of these plugins working for me :)
Yeah, What are the Permissions for the shout & Local? Because nobody can shout on my server without perms... Also, does color work on this?
What are the permission?
Can you make a cooldown for the global chat?
Great might use for my server :D
Anyone know how to set a timer/cooldown to /broadcast?
Two things.
1. Can you make a optional prefix for global/local chat that overrides other chat formatting plugins? I want my global chat to look like this, [G] {essentials chat format here}. If you need an example of this check out LocalChat + OOC + Shout
2. Make the prefix able to be a command. I want to type /g [message] instead of ![message]. I tried setting the prefix to /g[space], and then adding /g to the plugin.yml, but it didnt work.
I also have on request:
Could you make it possible to configure also Local chat output?
I just want to remove those nasty < > brackets, but don't want to download plugin for that..
Thanks!
Hah nevermind.
The config just doesn't auto create.
The problem is that local range is 2! WTF?
I just "fixed" this by editing the config inside the jar.
The default range is just ridiculously small.
Please update (?)
Local chat works 2 times after relogging. After that it says "no one hears you".
This doesn't create any config files either!
I need simpe local chat plugin, this would perfectly suit my needs.
Thanks!
Can you make this work with the prefixes in iChat? http://forum.thedgtl.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4
How do I make a configuration for this plugin? I couldn't get it to make one.
Hello how can i make the global 1000 block range to more? Thanks
Can this please be updated for 1.2.3RC0.2? Also i've got a feature request, a limit on shouting (like 5 a 10 seconds), to keep the global chat spam-free.
Hello. Is it possible to make this active for only some worlds on multi world servers?
Hi, there are chances to make the admin bypassing all restrictions? such as reading messages that have a limit..
@KoroshiyaHunter '<Global>%1$s shouts: %2$s' ?
Greetings. I would like to know how, exactly, you configure the global chat format. I would like it to specify "<Global><Username> Message" However, When I make that line look as follows:
It does not include the "<Global>" tag when a player speaks.
@John_Scott There are no commands for this plugin. Unless you count shout (!) as a command.
What the commands?
