ItemDisplay
ItemDisplay Release v1.3
This plugin supports JRE6 and JRE7
Note: I am not going to upgrade this plugin anymore. I've started a new project I've been wanting to do for a long time, it's a 2d space shooter game, me and my friend are currently working on it, I might work on this plugin again but it's not likely. Since v1.3.1 is the lastest and most stable version i'll keep the project this way. And last but not least, thank you ALL for your cooperation.
Refer yourselves to http://dev.bukkit.org/profiles/Ryanjh5521/ for possible updates and bug fixes.
Description
This plugin allows you to put any items in your iventory over specified blocks as a display, it also allows you to place items and blocks on the ground to be picked up later. Both displays and drops don't despawn and are fire/lava proff.
Commands
/itemd - Turns itemd mode on/off
/itemd help - Shows help message
/itemd list - Shows a list of all items in a 5 block radius(spherical) around you
/itemd delete ID/(ID1 ~ ID2) - Deletes any item displays/placings that belongs to you with ID or is in range of ID1 to ID2
/itemp - Turns off item placing mode
/itemp #sec - Places an item on the ground, makes it pickable by anyone, protects the item for #sec seconds, prevents despawn and respawn if it dies by lava, fire, etc.
Usage
Using the command "/itemd" gives you the ability to create the displays, left click the block you want the item to stay above, you can click in any face of the block, note that it will alwas stay on TOP of the block you clicked. Using "/itemd" again disbales the mode. Left Clicking and sneaking with the mode enabled you will be able to remove the display.
Using the command "/itemd help" shows a help message with the commands and a brief description.
Using the command "/itemd list" shows a list with every item display/placing around you within a spherical radius of 5 blocks. It also shows the ID's wich can be used with the delete command.
Using the command "/itemd delete ID/ID1ID2" deletes any item displays/placings with ID or is in range of ID1 to ID2 . It'll give the item back if the configuration is set to true, and you won't be able to delete some displays depending on the configuration settings. OP's can always delete any displays/placings.
Using the command "/itemp #" gives you the ability to lay an item on the ground, left click the block you want the item to stay above, you can click in any face of the block, note that it will alwas stay on TOP of the block you clicked. Using "/itemp #" again sets the time protection to #. Left Clicking and sneaking with the mode enabled you will be able to remove the item.
Using the command "/itemp" deactivated the item place mode.

Known Bugs
Bug: On server start some items over glass/glowstone/slabs/stairs/furnaces may not appear at first
Quick fix: Type "reload" on your server console and it should be ok
Cause: Sometimes the server or the client does not draw the sprite of the item despite it being there, that is, it is there but it's not being rendered.
[FIXED]Bug: When a player activates the mode, all players are able to create display
WARNING: Closing the server inappropriately might cause the items to vanish or be able to pickup, hence duplicating it.

20/06 - 05:06(GMT): I'm overloaded with college work, I will release v1.2 as soon as possible, maybe this weekend along with a fresh video for the plugin. Thank you all for the support!
23/06 - 02:25(GMT): Most of the features for 1.2 is already done, it took me a lot more work than what I thought it'd take. My code is really messy, I intended to use it only on my server so I'll probably rewrite it after 1.2 so I can fix the bugs more easily. This is my first plugin so it'll take a lot of getting used to API... But anyways, tomorrow 1.2 will probably be out! Again, Thanks for the support!
24/06 - 00:01(GMT): Plugin is ready! I'm just testing it with a friend on the server, should be up any time soon!
24/06 - 01:01(GMT): Plugin is ready! Just needs approval for you to download!
26/06 - 03:25(GMT): I'm currently rewriting the plugin to enhance speed, fix bugs and add more functionalities, thanks for your patience ;)
28/06 - 02:38(GMT): ItemDisplay 1.3 is out! It just needs approval, I fixed a bunch of errors and added the so much awaited /itemd delete and /itemd list commands to help you with those annoying "undeletable" displays :)
29/06 - 00:21(GMT): ItemDisplay 1.3.1 is ready, waiting approval. I fixed some bugs that allowed items to be picked up, now the plugin ensures no item will be picked no matter what!
@LeChuuck
I'm sorry, I forgot to select the right option while uploading the file, but yes, v1.2 was built using CB 1.2.5 R4.0
Does this plugin work still with latest CB?
This plugin causes so much stress when I forget to turn of itemd because there is no delete option! The re-movement of the item in the items.txt is complex and doesn't work for me. Please add a delete option, this plugin needs one before I explode in rage when I forget to turn off itemd!
@tryy3
You can either delete the items file inside plugins/ItemDisplay folder or search for them inside the file, it's simple, they should be the last ones on the list... it starts with the player name and ends probably in 0 like this:

delete from name to number, that represents a display, i'll eventually make a list command with delete option so you won't have this trouble anymore!
@kapetozo
got it working, but i accidently was in creative and had /itemd on and accidently destroyed a few blocks, and they did'nt want to disepear not even after restart end shift+left click, any idea how to get this blocks gone?
@MathewAlden
It will not despawn, it'll simply fall, if nothing moves it, it'll stand ontop of the next block, it'll try to go back to it's original position every 5 seconds. However you can only delete it by shift clicking on the block you clicked to create, that is, if the block is destroyed you'll have to put a block on the same place to delete, it doesnt matter what kind of block it is. I'm currently trying to find a better solution to handle block destruction, but since it's an uncommon event it's low on my priority list.
@tryy3
If you click holding no items in your hand they won't disappear, don't worry i've already fixed it.
@IsThisNameCoolEnoughForYou
same for me, when i do the have put stuff on a block and then do /itemd off and sneak and press left click on the block the item wont disepear from the block!
@MathewAlden
How about you TRY IT ? ...no ?
IsThisNameCoolEnoughForYou
and if you can't delete the file it's usually because it's in use thus just reload the computer to be sure and it should be fine. Don't start bukkit before erasing in other words.
I can't delete anything! I tried doing the sneak and L-click but i cant delete! Please help!
What happens if you break the block that the item is bound to?
Will it disappear or just float in the air or what?
@uMADz
Well i kind of had this in mind, it's on my todolist, but the stairs thing is really a good idea! I will definitely add it up! Thanks for the feedback!
Make so that you can put nicely 4 or 6 items on stairs... Like on a shelve...
@kapetozo
Yes that's exactly what i'm saying though if it's possible to save the whole thing when the server is closed ? (it's on my own personal computer).
So in other words you have 3 apples you "display" one on red wool for example then you have 2 left. then some random player comes at the place where it is and pick it up. That's the main thing. And since it's an adventure map and IF it's closed properly as mentionned above it would be fun to make that the displayed item is loaded back when the server is opened back.
(sorry to repeat myself like that I just want to make sure we understand each other because i'm french based so I don't have a well elaborated vocabulary, lol).
Anyway this could very well be an amazing plugin for adventurers :) I should really try to check out how this all works since I have a few ideas myself ...hope it's not too complicated ;)
Have a nice day,
Megaverse
I think just /display instead of /itemd would be better
@Megaverse
First of all when I said consume items I meant spend them when creating display, suppose you have 3 apples and create a display that'd leave you with 2 apples. But I'll fix it so people won't get confused again. And I get what you're saying about being able to pickup, that'll be as easy as changing one line of code and adding configuration for it... Just to be sure, you want the item to stay there as long as the server goes or someone picks it up right? And it'll stay over the block you placed... Well I'll add that to my todo list, thanks for the feedback!
HI, I saw it's in your to do list (to be able to put anything on display and then players can pick it up) Would be quite a good rpg element since i'm doing a map on my server I'm asking anyway if this feature will be out soon ? would it be possible to make a request that you put it on top of your todo list ? please.
ohh err I just checked back your list and #3 is: Wheater or not to consume the items to create the display...
So if I want my players to find a chain mail for example would it be "consume" like food or in other words just disapear or is it just a figure of speech meaning pick it up in your inventory ?
@kapetozo
Happy to help!
@ryguy147
Hey those are great ideas. I will start working on them right away! Thanks for the feedback.
There are 2 things that this plugin needs for me to download it, otherwise it's just not good enough:
-A config that lets you limit displays to certain items
There is an option for allBlocks that lets you put displays on all blocks, and a list for displayBlocks, blocks that can have items put on them
-Simplify the command to a toggling /display
