InfoBook
General
The InfoBook plugin adds the ability to create a book about your server, giving you the ability to go more in-depth with the explanation of commands and features of the server. It's really easy intuitive to use and can be set up to run on your server in less than five minutes.
Usage
The only existing command for this plugin is /infobook and its aliases /ib, /infob and /ibook, which will place a copy of the infobook defined in the configuration file in the players' inventory. You can now reload the config using /infobook reload. Permission: infobook.reload The command, however, requires the player to have the permission node infobook.get.
Configuration
The plugin comes with a default configuration file which already displays all features there are to configure:
pages: - §4This is a demonstration of the InfoBook plugin. - §4open[n]/plugins/HelpBook/config.yml[n]to change this text. author: Peter Kramer title: §4Important Information bookonfirstjoin: true
Each page of your infobook gets a new entry in the Section "pages". To force line breaks, simply put a [n] and the plugin will insert it to the book. You can also use the standard Minecraft formatting codes in pages, author and title, more information on them can be found on the wiki. The next two tags are pretty self-explanatory, the author value is the name that will be put as the books author and the title will obviously be set as book title. The last tag, "bookonfirstjoin", can either be set to true or false, enabling or disabling the feature that gives players a copy of the book when they first join the server.
DO NOTE THAT COLOR CODES ARE USING THE PARAGRAPH SYMBOL '§', NOT THE '&' SYMBOL LIKE ESSENTIALS DOES.
Why can't i use more then 2 pages?
@MikeyTheWolf
Glad to hear it works for you :) As for those A's, I'll trying finding the issue asap
@PeterKramer
Hey Peter, it not only for Mac, i use Windows 7 and have the same issue... The only problem is that its weird, so far i have not experienced it causing any problems with your plugin, but hey! Nice plugin by the way, it saved me a cr*p lot of time explaining everything to people when i have so much other stuff to take care off.
- Thanks. - Mikey@Tobias2289
Are you using a mac? Â <- That sort of a tends to appear when doing indentation on macs, I've seen it happen to a couple of people
Every time I use a § an weird A with a thing over it appears in the books. If I use multiple colors there are multiple A's all over and it just looks bad. Is there a way to fix this??
@gnaxi
If people feel like that's a bold move, I'll remove it.
It's the last page and, let's be honest here, few players will ever read through to the last page of a multi-page book in a video game unless they are forced to.
Take Skyrim as an example, they've got some seriously interesting books all over the place and I doubt more than one out of ten players ever read a full book.
I understand that you'd like some credit for the plugin, but taking an entire page in the book to do so... Naaa, I think I'll skip :)
this is kinda like what I wanted when I requested a plugin. Please check it out, it may give you ideas to improve this plugin. http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/book-archival-server-books-book-grouping-digital-library.162567/#post-1776497
@PeterKramer
Thank you !! :3
@shortybsd @marlboromoo
Guess what I just added? File's still unapproved, only just uploaded.
Agree @shortybsd , We need the "reload" command :3 Awesome plugin !!
This is a very nice plugin. My only suggestion to add is a /ib reload feature as reloading the server via /reload to check your format of the book in game breaks a lot of other plugins due to unloading temp variables.
@fungreenfox
This plugin won't scan the plugin folder, you can put background stories, introductions, rules, etc. into it to save space at your server spawn (No more sign walls).
I made a tutorial for the plugin Here
Whats the difference between this, and the plugin standardbook? I thought this would scan the plugins folder and put it into the book.
