HothGenerator
This world generator creates a real ice world that isn't just normal land covered with snow.
The plugin can actually generate more world types from the star wars movies (Tatooine, Dagobah and Mustafar worlds) but those are not described in detail here. You are left to explore and find all their secrets on your own.

This generator produces an icy world with a thick ice and snow layer and the occasional snow covered mountain. Hidden below you might find tiny caves where life that once inhabited the surface still survives and perhaps you'll find strange structures left over from some ancient civilization.
It also applies some extra rules to the world:
- Ice block, packed ice blocks and snow blocks drops as blocks
- Water placed in open air or above a certain level instantly freezes
- Lava placed in open air or above a certain level is turned into stone
- snow and ice does not melt
- No rain falls, only snow
- Plants doesn't grow if exposed to the sky
- Grass and mycelium dies under open sky if it can't spread into safety
- Slime does not spawn naturally above the stone layer
- Stay out at night and you will take damage from the cold
All rules are fully optional by editing the advanced options section in the configuration file.
Players can don an environment suit to protect themselves from the environment.
- Simply wear full armour with each piece with a name starting with
Environment
Commands to create a world:
STEP 1: You must add a new world to the HothGenerator configuration. This is done using the /hothaddworld
command.
/hothaddworld worldname type
Where "worldname"
is the name of your world and "type"
is one of hoth
, tatooine
, dagobah
or mustafar
.
STEP 2: Create the actual world.
If you are using the excellent MultiWorld plugin you can create a new world like this:
/mw create worldname plugin:HothGenerator
/mw load worldname
Do note that you should use the nether for the mustafar world. Use plugin_nether
above.
And for Multiverse:
/mv create worldname normal -g HothGenerator
or for a mustafar world:
/mv create worldname nether -g HothGenerator
I have done this, still, the ice melts when you mine it and I don't get messages like - it's freezing - go below grounds and all that good stuff... is there a thing I need to change in worldguard to make it work ?

/hothaddworld worldname type

Help - all my stuff is melting -
I created it with /mv create hoth2 normal -g HothGenerator
using worldguard 6.0.0 beta2 and worldedit 5.9.6
Ice acts like normal ice.
I'm losing our server... help
Thanks to update Orin_org
We 're waiting about you :)
great to hear that origin_org :D love this world plugin its amazing
@NewtPvP
Yes I'm just waiting for the spigot craftbukkit to stabilize a bit and for a few other plugins to update properly. And of cource for bukkitdev add 1.8 as a proper file target.
This is a pure bukkit plugin though so the old version should work fine. So if you stay away from the extra features that use worldguard/worldedit you should be fine.
Will this plugin be updated to 1.8? 1.8 is out now!
@P0rME
Just uploaded 1.18.1 with a fix for the enchanted helmets.
Okay, so this plugin is perfect, buuuutt there's one feature I'd loove it to have, and that's an option to increase snowfall, much like the rarity of structures generating.
Thanks, Pocket :D
@P0rME
Could you post one of the stack traces?
I started with 1.17, but now that i've updated to 1.18 smooth snow does not work, even though it's set to true!Edit: for some reason moving that option further up the config fixed it. Odd :3I love this on my server. I have Hoth world's nether setup as tatooine and that tatooine's nether setup to go to Dagobah and then Dagobah's nether going to the nether. I used 1.17 and it seemed to work ok. After moving to a NEW install of 1.18 I get the following error
Task #4 for HothGenerator v1.18 generated an exception Exactly every 2 seconds.
I think its the Armor. when we put on armor we get this. If everyone in the game takes it off then this error stops.
after some testing we found out that it was two helmets. One has protection 3 and un-breaking 3. The other has respiration 3, un-breaking 3 and projectile protection 3. If we don't ware these helmets everything runs good.
Just uploaded 1.18 with the following release notes:

You do not need to regenerate the config for this version if you are upgrading from 1.17. But if you do then make sure that you start up the server at least once with the old config or the world configuration will not be copied to the new worldconfig file.
Added permission flags for environment damage for each environment damage type.
Added support for environment suits that protects the player from the environment.
- The player must wear full armour with each piece with a name starting with Environment
- Environment suits can be disabled via config.yml But you need to regenerate it to find the option.
Moved world configuration to a separate worldconfig file. Your old world configuration will be copied there.
Added commands for configuring the world settings. It is not recommended to edit the worldconfig file manually.
I have a suggestion. Can you put the config world setting option comments next to their particular options? It is annoying to go up and find what each setting does, it would be nice to have each one separated by like a space or two, and each one have their own comment right there. I could help you do this if you like.
Yay, 17000 downloads ;)
@Yneeb
Seems the description in the config file is incorrect. Set it to 1. 10 will make caves very rare.
Note that the rarity setting is only used for hoth-type worlds. Tatooine and Dagaboh worlds use a better, but slower way to generate caves.
Hey! I really like this plugin, but I'm having some problems getting caves to generate. I have the generate.caves.rarity property set to 10, yet I can't find any caves. I think my config is correct because every other property I set works. Am I missing something? Thanks!
@ZWatchdog
Just increase the rules.environment.period value.
There's currently no way to negate the environment damage using armour.
Hi there, im currently using your generator in my server and i just love it, we all do :) But i have 1 question/problem, how can i change the interval beetwen damage ticks from weather effects? and is it possible to say i wont take damage if i wear some specific armor?
Thx in advance!
You can find dynmap renders of each world type here:
Dynmaps
Just select Hoth, Tatooine or Dagobah in the world menu to the right.
