What is the problem?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.enabling hawk tool
2. rightclick WITH the tool trying to get the information you need (THOUGH this won thappen somehow it simply places to block on the exact spot which i need to get the information about.. this means i have to break it again to get information of the just-placed block by me which means its annoying to find griefers...

so basicly it says left click or place the block to get information

though i can PLACE the block without getting any information out of it ....

Show me any console errors and/or your start-up console message for HawkEye -- got none

You do realize that right click and left clicking do two separate actions? You left click (or punch) a block that is currently there to get information about that block and you right click (or place) where there isn't currently a block and it'll give you information about that. Also make sure you get the confirmation "HawkEye tool enabled! Left click a block or place the tool to get information." or else it will just act like a normal block.

No, I'm having the same problem. Hawk tool works fine on block destroy (click with the log) But It has not worked for block place (placing the log) for several versions of bukkit for me.

Have you tried 1.0.6b yet? If it still doesn't work on that version, let me know.
