GuildEra
GuildEra
Features:
- Guilds that can be leveled: Every player can only use a limited amount of tools when he is in no guild(depends on the server settings). For example, without a guild you can use stone tools, stone blocks, wooden tools and weapons and wooden blocks. Within a guild he could use then a stone sword and a bow. if he levels the guild, he can later use iron tools and all the other stuff(like diamond armor or redstone).
- Developing a city: If build houses inside of your guild, villagers will come to your guild to live there. They will give you xp and maybe some bread.
- Hierarchical guild structure: Each guild has only one leader. The members are differentiated in trusted and normal members. Only trusted members can invite new players or kick players out of the guild.
- New dungeons with own loot: The dungeons can be spawned by admins. The loot of the dungeon is automically generated and depends on the length of the dungeon.
What is it about?
Its pretty simple. GuildEra implements guilds into Minecraft.
Every player is able to create a new guild or to join an existing one. The guilds can be leveled to get access to higher content, such as using enchantment tables or gold tools.
GuildEra implements also a new kind of dungeon that can be spawned by an admin. These dungeons are generated out of randomly chosen prefabs. Each dungeon will be different this way. At the end of the dungeon waits a treasure for the players who masters the dungeon. This treasure will be autmatically refilled every 24h.
Why should i want guilds?
Well, I often hear that the players want to stick together to a kingdom, a city or something similiar. With this plugin they can stick together to a guild. Each guild has a guildarea where only the guild can build and destroy something, with one exception. Other guilds will be able to attack your guilds with swords and bows.
So another guild can destroy my guild over night when I sleep?
No, they cant. A guild can only be attacked when a player of this guild is online. This way it is guaranted that there is someone who can defend the guild.
Whats the point in attacking other guilds?
I dont know. Whats the point into griefing? Correct, there isnt a point, but a lot of people do it.
So where can i get the plugin??

Grab the newest revision here:
Plugin: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/
Are there any new features planned?
To be honest, there isnt planned anything special at the moment. I got several requests about an alliance-system. May I add something in that direction.
Where can i see which level my guild needs, to use a certain tool/block?
Look it up here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/requirements.txt
Well, you can tell me a lot, I want to see it!
As you wish:
How can I install it?
Download the newest revision of guildera.jar here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/
Put it into the plugin directory of your bukkit. Restart bukkit.
If you want to change the basic level of non-guild players(guilds start one level higher when they are founded), start bukkit with GuildEra once. Close bukkit now. There should be a new file in plugin/guildera/ called startLevel.cfg, open it. Change the numberic value to the basic level you want.
Current revision ist rev30!
How do I have to update GuildEra?
Just replace your old guildera_revXX.jar in the plugin folder with the newest one and restart bukkit.
How can I use Guildera now in the game?
Type .help or .commands in the chat to see your possible actions or look the chat commands here up:
http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/chat_commands.txt
Are there any permissions I have to give?
No there arent. The only thing to differt admins from non-admins is the OP-state of bukkit.
Can I modify on which worlds the plugin runs?
Yes. Start your server once and close it. There should be a world.cfg in the plugin/guildera. Open it. You can put the name of a world in each line. The first line marks the primary world. You can only build guilds and dungeons in the primary world. The restrictions coppled to the guild will affect every world you put in the world.cfg. You have to restart your server if you changed anything in the world.cfg.
Is there a config file?
Yes. Start bukkit once with the plugin and than close bukkit. There should now be a config.cfg file in your plugin/guildera directory. To have changes applied, you must restart your server after every change you made.

Es geht Danke :)
It works thanks :)
I tested it and youre right. Its broken for some reason since the last update. I dont know if I will fix it today, 'cause I have serious headaches .~
Thanks for reporting.
Edit: Revision 25 is out and should fix the problem.
Hi, I wrote some notes on bukkit forum..but now I have one big thing to report. I don't know if it's bug only in rev24 - you may want to check it out.
My guild can't use iron tools yet but when a player have iron pickaxe for expample in slot 9 of the "belt" and nothing in slot 8, and then if he scroll with mouse from 8 to 9 ,the pickaxe is not dropping from the belt and they can break all the blocks ( diamonds etc. ) .
So..a major bug i think ;/ please fix it ASAP thanks !
ps. in the config file it would be great if we could set xp points from villagers per period of time (also setable )
Here a message to all crieing for using it only for the dungeons or disable parts of the restriction: I am working now on a config file where you can set it up the way you like.
Revision 24 is out. You can now set a primary and multiple secondary worlds for the plugin. Guilds and dungeons can only be build in the primary world. The restrictions also applies to the primary and to the secondary worlds. Start up your server once and close it. there should be now a world.cfg in your plugins/Guildera folder. Open it. In the first line is the name of the primary world. The other lines are for the names of the secondary worlds.
@ramisotti Revision 24 should fix your problem.
@Takomari Well, if you want to disable the block restriction as well, you can just set the startLevel to 60. If you want only the tool/weapon-restriction to be disappeared, than there is no config for that at the moment. The only way to do this, would be compiling a modified version of the plugin, since its open source.
@Cliffordlitte No, only if you compile it for yourself with a deletion of every guild-function.
@driftace Its case-sensitive, use it like this: .guild create tower 1 or .guild create nether 1 The 1 can be replaced with a number from 1 to 4 and adjusts the size of the dungeon. You have to be op to use this command.
Well, if you have already a guild on lvl 30, the easiest way of raising the old guilds would be copieing the ep.guild from the new guild to the old guilds in your plugin/guildera folder. In the ep.guild is the ep, that means the level as well, of your guild saved.
the exp raises with every exp you get as player (means slaying monsters or animals) and with every villager you have(villagers gives exp every 6h).
Thx and Danke :) for this fantastic plugin. It has become a crucial element on our RPG Server !! I set the starting lvl of guild to low (standard 25 in the beginning). Our folks would love to start in the "Iron Age" (so lvl30). Leveling takes time on a small server with few members.
How does one level a guild...what triggers exp raise (villagers, and ?)
Is there a way to manually raise the guild lvl to 30 without having to delete and re-create the old guilds ?
keep up the fantastic work ! cheers, Cyberhippie
Awesome Plugin. Though I'm getting the error "You don't have the permission to use this command." when using ".dungeon create...." commands. I'm admin at my server and this msg still shows. Any ideas?
is there any way JUST TO US the dungeon generator, and not the guilds part?"
Is there a way to disable the item usage part? I like how this plugin works, I just want all my users to be able to use items.
Edit: Ok, forget what i wrote before. I know the error. it is because you have no enderworld(?!). I will upload a fix later this evening or tomorow. I am sorry, but you will have to wait for that fix. I will post it here, when I uploaded it.
Hey,
The Plugin crash with these errors: http://pastebin.com/ivX4SgJT
Thx for the compliment mysticcity :D
I will upload a new video with all the new features i added since release later this day or tomorow. I think a video is always better than just 2 or 3 screenshots, i hope you will be satisfied with that :D
@Celestic: Did my instructions help you to get a rid of your save-bug?
@mysticcity: Die Frage war nicht ernst gemeint oder? xD
First: It`s a very very Nice System. Sec.: @Obstsalat bist du deutsch?
@Obstsalatt
Mind providing a picture of each dungeon type?
Revision 23 is out with a new dungeon type and some major changes, watch full changelog here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/changelog.txt
I never had a problem with a guild reset bug. Please follow these instructions: Update to revision 21. Than stop your server and delete the folder of every guild that has level 0 or 0 members in the plugin/GuildEra folder. Start your server.
After that your problem shouldnt ocure anymore. You have to stop the server always with the stop command in the bukkit console to have the guilds saved.
If the problem still ocures, than you probably have an invalid guildname. In the name is every char allowed that you could use to name a folder as well, a ? or : shouldnt be in the guildname. If your guild has an invalid name, shutdown your server, rename the folder of the guild with the invalid name to the name you like. Start the server and everything should be fine.
To your house building thing. Well, it chooses a random position in your guild and than checks how many houses are around him. So just stacking doors next to each other isnt sensefull. Houses should be at least 3*3 (X*Z) big. Of course you can build smaller houses, but than there is a possibility that 2 houses counts as one. But remember that the plugin chosses the positions random where it will check for everything in a 3*3 area. So maybe your 2 small houses count one time as 2 houses and the next time as 2. You should just build your city the way you like. If you use doors or beds in your city, villagers will come with the time.
Nice!
You REALLY need to fix the guild reset bug.
My status get's reset to normal (and not trusted) all the time. And the guild xp get's reset often too.
(this is not an error of not saving the guild progress)
@Obstsalatt
So, although there can only be 1 house in a 3x4x3 box, does that mean that you can't make smaller houses?
Like this:
X = wood D= door X X X D
(Aerial view)
Is that possible, or does a house need to take up a 3x4x3 space?
