Features:
- Guilds that can be leveled: Every player can only use a limited amount of tools when he is in no guild(depends on the server settings). For example, without a guild you can use stone tools, stone blocks, wooden tools and weapons and wooden blocks. Within a guild he could use then a stone sword and a bow. if he levels the guild, he can later use iron tools and all the other stuff(like diamond armor or redstone).
- Developing a city: If build houses inside of your guild, villagers will come to your guild to live there. They will give you xp and maybe some bread.
- Hierarchical guild structure: Each guild has only one leader. The members are differentiated in trusted and normal members. Only trusted members can invite new players or kick players out of the guild.
- New dungeons with own loot: The dungeons can be spawned by admins. The loot of the dungeon is automically generated and depends on the length of the dungeon.
What is it about?
Its pretty simple. GuildEra implements guilds into Minecraft.
Every player is able to create a new guild or to join an existing one. The guilds can be leveled to get access to higher content, such as using enchantment tables or gold tools.
GuildEra implements also a new kind of dungeon that can be spawned by an admin. These dungeons are generated out of randomly chosen prefabs. Each dungeon will be different this way. At the end of the dungeon waits a treasure for the players who masters the dungeon. This treasure will be autmatically refilled every 24h.
Why should i want guilds?
Well, I often hear that the players want to stick together to a kingdom, a city or something similiar. With this plugin they can stick together to a guild. Each guild has a guildarea where only the guild can build and destroy something, with one exception. Other guilds will be able to attack your guilds with swords and bows.
So another guild can destroy my guild over night when I sleep?
No, they cant. A guild can only be attacked when a player of this guild is online. This way it is guaranted that there is someone who can defend the guild.
Whats the point in attacking other guilds?
I dont know. Whats the point into griefing? Correct, there isnt a point, but a lot of people do it.

To be honest, there isnt planned anything special at the moment. I got several requests about an alliance-system. May I add something in that direction.

How can I install it?
Download the newest revision of guildera.jar here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/
Put it into the plugin directory of your bukkit. Restart bukkit.
If you want to change the basic level of non-guild players(guilds start one level higher when they are founded), start bukkit with GuildEra once. Close bukkit now. There should be a new file in plugin/guildera/ called startLevel.cfg, open it. Change the numberic value to the basic level you want.

How do I have to update GuildEra?
Just replace your old guildera_revXX.jar in the plugin folder with the newest one and restart bukkit.

Are there any permissions I have to give?
No there arent. The only thing to differt admins from non-admins is the OP-state of bukkit.
Can I modify on which worlds the plugin runs?
Yes. Start your server once and close it. There should be a world.cfg in the plugin/guildera. Open it. You can put the name of a world in each line. The first line marks the primary world. You can only build guilds and dungeons in the primary world. The restrictions coppled to the guild will affect every world you put in the world.cfg. You have to restart your server if you changed anything in the world.cfg.
Is there a config file?
Yes. Start bukkit once with the plugin and than close bukkit. There should now be a config.cfg file in your plugin/guildera directory. To have changes applied, you must restart your server after every change you made.

I'm not sure if this bug is caused by this plugin, but sometimes on the server that I play on (which is running guildera) I lose food randomly.
Ok, I think I understand your problem. You are not able to break a block outside of the dungeons because of the guild restrictions? If that is the case, you will be able to disable the restrictions via the config.
Edit:
Rev 27 is out. Fixed the guild create bug and added a spawn protection, so you can't make guilds next to the spawn anymore. Also added redstone and lapislazulli for giving exp when mined.

I believe that the server I play on is running rev26, because the coal mining thing is implemented. But it seems that I can't make a guild no matter where I am. I traveled over 10000 blocks and I couldn't make a guild anywhere. This might be because I had created and disbanded one before....but if it is you should change the message it displays to "You can only create 1 guild every 24 hours".
I want to make guilds establishable, but only allow lands to be claimed in an area. It is difficult to find, I am noticing.
So you want to allow mining and so on just in a predefined area? My plugin wont help for that purpose, sry : /
I have been looking at plugins like this and factions for a while now. We want to do something like this, but only allow claiming and such in an area we have predetermined as our "Wasteland"
I know factions does not allow this, and I know that using WorldGuard to block the /f claim command does not fix it. So, does this plugin allow this in some way?
Depends if i try to put the iconomy support with in the revision of the config file. If not it will be this week for sure.
But please notice that I can add options for when to use dispensers, brewing and enchantmenttables but there wont be any options for when to use certain blocks or tools at the beginning. I will add these ones probably later.
Also I want to add a dungeon where you can enchant your weapons and armor at the end no matter which level your guild is, so that should also be noticed by the people who wan to set the use level of the enchantmenttable lower.
Also you have to remember that you need obsidian to build an enchantmenttable, so you need to use diamond pickaxes first.

@celestic Bug is known. Fixed in revision 26 which i uploaded yesterday. I strongly recommend to look on the svn (http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/) for the newest revision and not here in the bukkitdev, because the bukkitdev needs to check every revision before it goes public, means it always is availabe a few hours after i uploaded it.
I wont implement that the exp of the player joined the guild will be added to the guild, since it would be easy to exploit. Just enter guild with exp, leave it, enter it, leave it, enter it, leave it and so on.
@Yukimesu Since you are not able to speak english, you may speak german better? It is quiete hard to understand what you want. I can only have a guess that it has something to do with the restrictions in the dungeons.

To the 3*4*3 box thing. It only means that it wont bring advantages to have more than one door or bed within one 3*4*3 box. Just build houses, you guys think too much about how they has to be.
Hi, Nice surprise with the exp from digging coal and melting iron - finally some good xp source. Is there any list of other things that bring xp? Or you just want players to find it out for them selves ? ;)
Second question - is there any ETA for rev with config file? I admit that guild level based permissions is great idea and gives players new purpose making the game less boring in some point, but things like using enchantment table or brewing stand...or iron armor could be at a little lower level :)
Third thing - thanks for link with house requirements..but please enlight me with one thing, the 3x4x3 box is ment to be empty area in the house or a walls of a house including roof and ground ? So, the ground inside the house must be min. 2x3 or 3x4 ? I understand that wheter there is a bed or a door, or both, the chances of spawning a villager are the same? ..

edit: Ok, one more thing.. you said that destroying the tower is possible with disbanding the guild, ok but what will be with the villagers on its area? We grew almost 100 of them right now...When I create a guild on the area of that village will they join or disappear?

If a new player joins a guild, whatever level he was gets added to the guild xp bank.
Ex: Level 30 guild, 500 xp to next level, 5 members
A new member joins with 6 levels of xp. The guild xp bank goes down by 93.
(now that I think of it, this probably already happens but.....)
Whenever I try to make a guild it still says that I'm too close to another guild.
Is this the product of the feature that stops a player from spamming guilds? If so, please make the message it displays related to that....and maybe even have disbanding remove the gravel wall and allow people to make guilds whenever they want.

Well, it probably is possible, but it would be hard to implement. The problem is, that the server just despawns every villager in your town when nobody is close to it.
Rev26 is out. Fixed a bug in the guild creation and implemented experience for mining.
I just found a bug in the .guild info command.
If you are fare enough away from your guild the villager count is 0/228, it changed back to the proper number when you return. Is it possible to make the villager count in the .info stay the same when you leave and then update when you get back?
