Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Any one know how to allow the snow golem's to make snow inside your own claim :(
I want to build a system for making snow blocks but my snow man just wont make snow inside my claim.
clearly building the system outside my claim is not ideal or fun because of that stupid spammy Golden message that shows all the dam time srsly that thing should disable after 1hr of play time and a claim already made.. its really annoying.
hey, i own a server and i have grief prevention, i love it but ever since i updated it i wasn't able to claim more land. can u please help ill post the config

@datdenkikniet
I know. I meant something like a bonus for logging in once a day. So even if you only login for 1 sec every day, you would still get the free blocks.
@Tux2
Now, i'm using 5.5.1 for tekkit, and i just got my stuff together, and made a creative world, now i have been testing, and while mostly everything works, then i can't abandon claims again, i can only use /deleteclaim, which doesn't clear the claim, or give back the claim block, like /abandonclaim should. Is this a bug with the old version, or do you have any other idea, why this happens?
And no, i don't have any error log
@wazoomie
is already in the config, but per hour :)
Could you implement a "Daily Reward" function, which gives players an x amount of free claimable blocks every x time.
@Tux2
thank you for the reply, done and dusted.
@Tux2
no, i cant drop stuff with q, and if i want to build outside claims, it says i have to use /ignoreclaims :S
@xsonarx
That's correct, just remove the world from worlds.
@RubiksCharge
Do you have a stacktrace?
@datdenkikniet
That's the default.
I want to let everyone build everywhere, exept in claims of others, what do i have to enable/disable in the config? And how do I let people drop stuff with Q?
The plugin wont work for me. Every time I try to reinstall the plugin, it says it could not "could not load plugin griefprevetion" and i am using the latest dev build
@Tux2
I know this might be a stupid question, but how would i stop claiming land in places like the Nether? When my config is generated with all the world names do i just remove the world from "worlds" to stop GF from seeing that world? Ive moved from faction claiming to this plugin and with factions it had the option to disable world claiming.
@NightroGuy
The beta version only supports the latest dev builds of Craftbukkit 1.5.1
@Simo389
Which plugin are you using for the sponges?
@Voulxe
When GriefPrevention loads it loads all the claims and puts them in memory. To save resources, it uses bukkit's Location class, which needs a loaded world. The problem with the Mystcraft worlds is they aren't getting loaded before GriefPrevention. I'm not trying to be cheap, I'd rather not have to listen to the load world event (which is entirely unnecessary in Bukkit) and search through every single non-loaded plot yet again. This would drag down performance significantly.
Hey everyone I just got a release out for griefpreventionflags. here is the link. Bukkit has not approved the file yet so please be patient.
Ok, I spent about 30 minutes working on my problem. It looks solved!
I had to go into the config.yml, under "Claims:" and set "CreationRequiresPermission:" from false to true to stop giving the ability to everyone. I also added all my worlds under "Worlds:" under "Claims:" That will allow all the protections to work regardless of permissions set later.
Then I made a Group in PEX called LandClaims and did the following..
PasteBin Code Link
I know I could have used inheritance, but actually it would involve more lines. I also figured I probably don't have to explicitly deny the ability, but I like to make sure with PEX.
Then I just made sure my Members group inherited the LandClaims group and tada!
Maybe this will help someone else down the line, granted I should have figure this out before posting originally. :-/
After reading both responses, Lucifer's in particular, I thought about it more, and basically face-palmed myself.
Permisssions!
griefprevention.createclaims - Allows players to create additional claims when Claims.CreationRequiresPermission is set to true
So if I can get PEX to like it, maybe just do a negation only in the permissions for that world. Granted it seems like it defaults to Allow, and not sure if a Negate will over-ride it. Guess I'll just have to try and see if it works. It would solve my issue if it does.
Separate config.yml files per world, like WorldGuard does it, would also work. But I can't expect Tux2 to go changing all that just for me.
Hey guys. came across another node:
griefprevention.nopvpimmunity
thought you might want to know and add it to the updated perms list...
Thanks..
@Voulxe That's pretty shweeeet XD I think I may like to look into that at some point, although I've no real reason to atm. Thanks! (Although the question was from someone else, I'm quite amused with this bit of info)
@godlessgreg Looks like Voulxe's answer is better than mine XD Not quite so hackey
The quickest (but dirty) way to let GP and Mystcraft work together on Bukkitforge is to add two lines of code:
else if (Directory.exists(path)) ... (sorry, I am only common with C#)
addDimension(path); (or whatever kind of method you use)
Later on it would be a good idea to store the paths to dimensions relative instead of searching at a defined position. A subfolder 'WorldData' could be a way.
@Lucifer: in such a subfolder there could be overriding config.yml for any dimension. These do not need to contain anything except for differing behavior.
FYI: Bukktiforge and Mystcraft are using the same path-structure. Craftbukkit itself is behaving odd, by using different paths.
@godlessgreg
This sounds like it might need another plugin, but an absurd idea that actually sounds kinda nice is to be able to toggle individual griefPrevention features per-world, albeit this would probably complicate the config quite a bit, i.e. - A list of worlds per feature @.@
Also, might look into negating certain permissions that allow them to claim. So although the world would still be in the list, they wouldn't have permissions to create claims. Could be a work around for now.
