GoldRush
GoldRush lets your users pan for gold in all watery areas that contain sand, clay, dirt, and gravel below-water! Using the custom item* you can make a gold pan, which has a pseudo-durability (default of 10 uses). Gold drop possibilities are configurable via the configuration file, the lower the number the lower the chance of it dropping, however "-1" will turn the block off.

Warning!
If gold will effect your server economy, be sure to BlackList the cauldron item and sell it in a shop. The bowl should not effect anything, due to the inefficiency of the method. I do not recommend this plugin for Tekkit if you use EquivalentExchange, as gold is worth a very high amount of EMC.

Just wanted to point out, you mention in your description that the permission node is "goldpanning.pan", but you mention elsewhere that the node is "goldrush.pan". You should clarify this to prevent any misunderstandings.

Totally, I'm actually in the process of re-writing a number of methods to make everything much more efficient. I'll most definitely add some configuration options for what can by panned up, as well as improving the overall usefulness of the config!

I love this idea! But as I am using gold/diamonds/emeralds as economy I would like to have some limits and control over this type of "gold-farming".
I didn't yet checked it out, so actually don't how much stuff can already be controlled via configuration..
But please keep improving this idea! It's awesome :)
You know the vain plugin? Make so all the gold in the map dissapear. then make so the plugin generates gold vains and in a ration of 100-50 blocks you can pan gold? that would make gold finding a lot more fun :D
A suggestion. 1. Could you make so you can set diamonds on False/True? 2. make so you can set so for an exampel every 10 block you can max get 4 nuggets? Just so you can put it in the Gold Iconnomy. True/False 3. Do so sand dirt and clay turnes in to gravel when it is panned? Still the True/false system. 4. make so it´s only in the lakes you can pan? True/false 5. Make so 1. 2. 3. 4. Is options in the Config? that could be awesome! Keep up the good work.

Indeed, I get how that could be a problem, the block breakage was my way of not making the system overly OP. I'm working on figuring out how to implement a system that keeps tracks of the players' clicked locations and makes sure they don't click again, or as the case may be, too often.

Was having a blast testing this and noticed that the block is "consumed" in the panning. I was able to spam-pan an area and dig a massive area. Could you make it so that there is a cool down and/or maybe have it remember what block was clicked (coordinates?) and maybe send a message that the area is panned clean without deleting the block?

Done! You can now only pan for gold in River/Frozen River Biomes, as well as Swampland biomes due to the high amount of water in that biome. There's an option to turn this off inside the configuration file.

I could easily do that! I'll have an update today or tomorrow. Also, you're correct, the first set is for cauldron spawn-rates and the second set is for the bowl. The values don't really correlate with each other, but higher is more and lower is less.

Just for my clarification in the config the first set is the likelihood of getting a nugget using the cauldron method and the second set is the bowl method?
A suggestion: can it be made so that you can only pan from water in the river biome? I know that some won't want this so maybe there could be a way in the config to turn it off or add other biomes? We don't need utter realness but I think limiting it to river biomes would make sense.

Hello, The chance is indeed now configurable, just run the plugin and you'll be able to use the config file to edit the spawn rates.
In regards to having gold ore spawn, you generally don't want to change the spawn rates for any ore, it can really mess up a map. If you use a cauldron, you'll be able to find a fairly large amount if gold as it is. However, if you'd like, I can change the plugin and send you a custom build.

Could you make the chance configurable? I was about to code something like this myself. It would also be epic if sometimes gold ore would spawn in the river bedding.

@Mezorontosh Are you using a permissions plugin? You must give the user the permission to pan for gold, else only admins can use the function. The permission is goldpanning.pan

How do I allow other players to pan for gold? It only allows me for some reason.
