Giant Caves
Overview
Giant Caves is a bukkit mod that creates giant underground caves in the world. The caves are generated using Perlin noise seeded by the world seed. Caves are unique to each world.
Giant Caves is implemented as a bukkit block populator and is compatible with the vanilla world generator and most likely any world generation plugin that implements the chunk generator pattern. Giant Caves also comes with a vanilla generator for use with Multiverse.
Works best with Subterranea
See it in Action!
Here is a great overview video in German and one in Portuguese
Installation
I don't have Multiverse or another world manager
- Stop the server if it is running!
- Download the plugin and put it into your plugins folder.
- Start your Server to make the plugin generate default world configuration files for known worlds.
- Set onlyUseWorldManagers to false in config.yml
- Edit the configuration file to match your needs. (See Help Topics > Configuration for more info.)
- Restart your server.

I want caves like the one in the demo video..
@Intangir
When a beta build is out. I'm not giving support for builds that aren't stable for a longer duration.
will this be updated? i was looking forward to checking it out
Sorry i was away from bukkit for a while and no it doesnt work...
@sk8er92749
Does it work? If not, then it broke. And since there is no beta build yet, there will be no 1.6 build yet.
Did this break in 1.6.1? Im getting an error at startup.... http://pastebin.com/knvBR71a
@Xaymar
OK thanks for the reply
@schneiderwm
GiantCaves does its best to prevent block updates from happening in such cases by filling up the blocks below that 'hole' in the ocean with water. There's nothing else I can do for now.
I'm having some problems with giant caves being created within deep oceans. As you can imagine, this causes lag from block updates. Any suggestions, beyond changing the Y level? If this were biome specific it would be extra awesome.
@G0sick
I can't recommend any plugins for that, as I do not run a server anymore. The second method would work fine, as long as the name of the world is already in GiantCaves's configuration.
@Xaymar
Any recommended plugins for that? If not, would I be able to simply install this plugin, then use multi-verse to create a new world and that new world have Giant Caves?
@G0sick
You would need a plugin that allows you to selectively repopulate Chunks. WorldEdit can kind-of do that, but there are probably more efficient solutions.
Can i install this plugin and it effect my already made server? My server is close to being opened, and I think adding this plugin would make it very unique. Will I be able to install this without having to create a whole new world?
@Xaymar
Thanks for the info. Will try now, and will check tickets next time.
@Zocolo
Check the tickets next time, this has already been reported and is caused by the development builds you are using. Consider using Beta builds over those, as most plugins will only provide new versions for betas.
Does not seem to initialize at all on my server. I also tested with absolutely no plugins but itself, and it still would not. No configuration file was generated.
Running CB build: 1.5.2-R0.2 (Build #02779)
What is happening? if you can explain...
Hi me and a friend did a spotlight video of this if people would like a bit more of a detailed view Thanks for watching if you do decide to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zgqGnKkgyY
@Xaymar
you... I like you
@Xaymar
Okay. Thank you very much.
@snow0770
Just dig or explore other caves. Most of the time the gigantic ones connect to smaller ones.
