Giant Caves
Overview
Giant Caves is a bukkit mod that creates giant underground caves in the world. The caves are generated using Perlin noise seeded by the world seed. Caves are unique to each world.
Giant Caves is implemented as a bukkit block populator and is compatible with the vanilla world generator and most likely any world generation plugin that implements the chunk generator pattern. Giant Caves also comes with a vanilla generator for use with Multiverse.
Works best with Subterranea

Installation
I don't have Multiverse or another world manager
- Stop the server if it is running!
- Download the plugin and put it into your plugins folder.
- Start your Server to make the plugin generate default world configuration files for known worlds.
- Set onlyUseWorldManagers to false in config.yml
- Edit the configuration file to match your needs. (See Help Topics > Configuration for more info.)

Hello I am new to this. How do I find the cave after it was made?
@WhiffleX
plugins like these have to be installed with the server offline for best integration. you probably crashed because you used a reload command and your server could not handle the pressure of stopping all the plugins and restarting them all again.
I'd suggest that from now on, you stop your server before updating/installing a plugin.
@WhiffleX
Alright, then from software developer to software developer:
You broke three basic rules of being a software user, and broke two basic rules of being a software developer. And then you expect me to be more nice to you? What the hell, man.
@Xaymar
I don't appreciate your attitude. While I really enjoy this plugin you are responding in a very negative way. This is certainly no way to treat a software user. I'm a software developer myself and I would never speak to a client or a user the way you're speaking to me. I double checked the version of GiantCaves that I downloaded before the crash and it was in fact 1.5.2-R0.1. I don't know why it crashed. I did a "reload" from the console after deleting GiantCaves-2.4.jar. Maybe for some strange reason the previous version stayed in memory. I've stopped and started bukkit with the proper versions of both Giant Caves and Bukkit. I will monitor it and hopefully this does not come up again. I would just appreciate a little more tact in your responses in the future.
@WhiffleX
I give up. Are you just refusing to read what I tell you, or are you actually serious? Because I can not reproduce the crash, not even with a new server. And here's why:
So, please, stop harassing me with errors that are on your end.
Just experienced a crash on 1.5.2 beta bukkit. I posted the ticket on GitHub. Thank you!!
@Dream2Craft Giant Caves does not need commands. This should be obvious to the people that actually read the page.
@belchinbertha Dig down, up, left, right, forward, backward.
How do you find the giant caves?
and commands where there are commands .... how it works
@Jahb57
Yes, as long as Giant Caves is attached to the world.
Would this work if you use the World Border Fill command?
A new build is available on the CI Server and soon also on DBO.
Be aware that, due to renaming of methods, GiantCaves may be broken. This is nearly impossible to prevent, as there are no @Deceprated notatition when referencing core code.
Looks like we have a beta. Just waiting on Giant Caves before I upgrade. Thank you for your hard work!
@robotnikthingy
I am not sure what you expected, as I will only do builds for Betas. As long as CraftBukkit doesn't have a new beta out, no new build appears. (Unless there's a problem with the plugin with a beta version)
oh no, the plugin causes a crash when using the 1.5.2 version of bukkit
crash report

Using bukkit 1.5.2-R0.1 build #2767
Using giant caves 1.5.1-R0.1 [R2] (2.4)
Is there any way to make this work with a world that has already been generated?
@Ajaxan
Correct. Since that chunk is already generated this plugin will not touch it.
@WhiffleX
Ok, so even if I used an older version, it will recognize that the caves have already been generated in the chunk and skip over it? Sorry, just have to make sure, since my server is currently live.
@Ajaxan
Nope, it only generates caves when the chunks are first generated.
If I used the old version in my world and then switch to the updated version, it won't overlap caves will it? (Assuming I set the setting to the same thing.) From what i read about it generating caves based on the world seed, it shouldn't, but I have to make sure.
