FormatChannel
This module is currently undergoing a rewrite.
This module for ChannelChat adds either universal chat formatting, or channel-type based formatting. This means that you can have global chat channels be formatted differently to your local or world type channels.
Features:
- Universal chat formatting as a module to ChannelChat.
- Allows for per-channel type formatting.
- Supports Prefixes and Suffixes (through Vault).
Requirements:
- ChannelChat
- Vault
- OPTIONAL: A Vault compatible permissions handler that allows you to set player Prefixes (see this page for compatibility)
Reupload please :(
Hey Project could you re-upload this? =D
@gawelium
No. Works fine on my own server.
Need an update for new recommendedbuild no ?
@vJuggerz
in 1.7 alpha it's
@vJuggerz
Several people have mentioned this before, but they all disappear whenever they find the solution without telling me what it is. I recall the problem lies with the chat options in Factions.
I am using the factions module and the format module but the faction tag is still screwed up. In the format module do you have to add a variable for the faction tag in the format? If so what is it? because i've tried factions or {FACTIONS} or everything else. I would just like the faction tag to look normal with the prefix as well.
@fjutte
It does both. I have planned to make the prefix/suffixes optional in 1.1 (which allows you to run it without Vault), but for 1.0 you need Vault and a compatible permissions handler (that supports chat hooks)
@ProjectInfinity
So basically your plugin doesn't format strings sent to chat, but the prefix/suffix handled by a permission handler?
Hi, very nice plugin, thank's tou !
I use it in my server 1.2.4 but I try to add color for the name of channel and I don't succeed :( I use channelchat and formatchannel. I would like to do like this picture for the color of channel :
Thank's for the answer.
@fjutte
That means it only supports PermissionsBukkit as a permissions handler (i.e. look at CHAT), you need one that supports prefixes/suffixes as well, as of this time it is only PEX and bPerms.
@ProjectInfinity
oh, you mean this line: Perms: Permissions 3, bPermissions, PEX, GroupManager, PermissionsBukkit, zPermission
@fjutte
PermissionsBukkit is not a supported permissions handler as far as I know, your issue lies with Vault. Not FormatChannel. Look here for compatibility: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vault/
You want to be looking at "Chat" and "Perms".
Basically, PEX or bPerms is required unless you use something else Vault allows for.
@ProjectInfinity
tested with native bukkitperms and none, still getting the same result
@fjutte
There you go, now it's easier to troubleshoot. What permission handler do you have?
looks like it doesn't support channelchat either
@fjutte My plugin does not interact with Factions at all, nor does it support it. This is FormatChannel, not FactionChannel/ChannelChat.
My plugin allows you to format your vanilla chat and add group prefixes/suffixes where applicable.
However, if the plugin does not generate a configuration, then I can help you with that.
Can you please post your server.log file showing the server starting up and shutting down?
I use this plugin on my own server with absolutely no problem, so I will need more information about your setup.
@ProjectInfinity
I already did, no file there. Only FactionChannel.yml
i'm using latest dev build of factions, version 1.7.4. maybe Olaf changed the chat tag? In your .jar the config says to look for "[{FACTION}]" but in faction's config.json it says "[FACTION]"
either way, your plugin does not create a config file. I tested with a clean install of bukkit, vault, factions, channelchat, factionchannel and formatchannel, and it still didn't create the config file
@fjutte
Check your ChannelChat module folder for the configuration.
I installed this, but it didn't create a config file. Am I doing something wrong? I don't know how to config this plugin :(
