FieryInferno
Create fires like you never could before! FieryInferno fire spread much faster than default, similar to pre 1.6b MineCraft fire mechanics. It also doesn't go out after a certain radius from the origin. Great for any pyromaniacs!
Features:
- Makes fire spread faster and larger
- Customizable spreading speed
- Emulates pre - 1.6b MineCraft fire
- Multiworld support
- Fire only spreads to flammable blocks
- A naturally occurring event called a "wildfire"
- A /wildfire command
- 101% configurable Configurable
Suggestions/feedback welcome!
I tried this on Spigot 1.8 (Jan 5th build) and can't get it to work. Fire doesn't spread when applied directly to trees. Is this an issue with FieryInferno, or something else?
Does 1.2 work on CB 1.6.4?
Okay so what settings do i use for wiping out an entire forest from a flint and steel fire?
I've got my fire spread limit at 2147483647 and my maximum fires at 20000 and all it does is take out a single tree :(
@4rz0 Fire is not guaranteed to spread: FieryInferno just adds a much greater chance of it spreading. Try spawning multiple wildfires near the same location, and they'll propagate further, faster.
If you have Faster Fires on, it will automatically start burning nearby blocks. If you do not, it will only do so if a flammable block exists in a box with a radius of 3 around the fire origin. Hence, Faster Fires can give the impression of the fire "exploding" all at once: all nearby flammable blocks are set on fire.
Fire Spread Limit defines how far a fire may propagate. Essentially, it tells FieryInferno that it may create one parent fire, which can have N child fires, each of which can have N - 1 fires, and so on.

Yes, FieryInferno 1.2 no longer relies on native Minecraft code, so is version-independent. Fires stop spreading due to the propagating limit I explained in the above comment. Try setting Fire Spread Limit to a higher number. But be wary - you might end up burning more than you want. You can set it to a pseudo-infinite value: 2,147,483,647. That is the largest value supported. Be careful not to have grass blocks in the list of flammable blocks, though, or you'll end up with a world of fire!
Ok, i did some testing and noticed some flaws:
Sometimes, fire doesn't really spread at all:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3jwhsi30dpvx3d8/FieryInferno_test2.mp4
Fire also seems to stop spreading fast once it leaves a certain range of the initial fire.
And I have cases of "explosive Fire" which only seem to happen after a server-restart:

@Icynene
It's okay, real life is more important than a game^^
It actually was pretty informative for me to figure out how plugins work nowadays.
Last time I looked into one, there was no such thing as a plugin.yml.

@4rz0
I can't express how truly sorry I am.
For the last month, I've been practically dead as the internet goes, and I don't see this status changing anytime soon: I just have too much going on in my life to dedicate the same amount of time to hobbies as I used to.
I've updated Storm to work. It was a careless error on my behalf: I had recently acquired a new computer and so did not have the FieryInferno project files on my drive. It was late; I was tired, and so let slip an error in the builder's configuration which omitted the crucial plugin.yml file from the final executable.
I've rebundled it in the FieryInferno now waiting in the BukkitDev approval queue.
Once again, I am sorry.
@4rz0
Looks like I forgot to provide information about the commands the plugin uses.
I created a plugin.yml following Bukkit-rules, and it looks like it works now, Bukkit loads the plugin without errors.
I can't properly test this, due to my lack of a working server, tho.
If anyone wants to try, there's the file: plugin.yml (right-click, save as)
It needs to be added into the FieryInferno.jar plugin root.
I don't give any warranty, test on your own risk.
I'll also open a ticket for this.
Got the same error, the plugin is, among others, missing its plugin.yml. I tried providing its old version, but then there are NPEs.
Is the updated source avaliable anywhere? On hawkfalcon's github, there's only the initial version...
Hey guys, I love your plugin, well, the idea of your plugin, but i can't get it to work on my computer. I am not sure what this error code means, and I thought someone might be able to help me. I am sorry if the answer is simple, but I am very stuck here. I really want to use the plugin and i am really looking forward to it. This error code is in terminal on my mac when I start the server: Thanks for your help.

Once again thanks for any help! I can't wait to start using the plugin!
Hey we should promote each others plugins, this one seems to compliment UberForest quite nicely! :D :D
(Automated Tree Regrowth, an ideal plugin to ensure barren wastelands can again be lit on fire!)

@hawkfalcon
Amazing to hear that, i'm looking forward to it!
This one seems to be the only one if its kind.
Should be updated soon :-p
This needs an update, if it doesn't work for the current server :V Anyone already filed a ticket or something?
please update to 1.4.6 :D
Broken as of 1.4.5R1.0
@NIET12345
Select region in WorldGuard and set flag what disables fire
Ugh i am seriously on the search for a plugin that STOPS fire spread, i mean, im gratefull for peoples work on making spreading faster, but im in desperate needs of a no-fire plugin :( anyone know one?
@rad12345678901
No and no, at the moment. If you have suggestions, please make a ticket. Thanks!
does this include a forest boost so things can grow back? or is it like a nuke where its destroyed instantly and takes thousands of years to grow back
