ExtremeTerrain
ExtremeTerrain
Did you ever asked yourself, "How can i make Minecraft easier for myself"?. Then this world generator is NOT for you.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Cool looking terrain
- Ore generation (More about this under the "Ore distribution" Tab)
- Automatic generating trees
- Water and lava falls
- Survival friendly
- Biomes (Images: Click here)
- Automaticly generated obsidian (in small chunks of obsidian)
Cons:
- A bit laggy
- Long generation time (circ. 20 seconds)
Why is it hard?
- You can fall and you probably will
- Mobs, mobs everywhere
- The only water and lava sources are in water and lava falls
- Did i mentioned mobs?
- Big distances between some islands
Ore distribution
The ore generation works the same, as in vanilla minecraft.
Installation
If you want to make an external world:
You will need Multiverse-core!
- Download the plugin file
- Drop it in your plugins folder
- Start the server
- Write
/mv create <worldname> normal -g ExtremeTerrain -s <If you want a fix seed>
- Exit out of the game, but don't close the server! The generation will take a moment.
- If the generation finished (aka. The terminal stopped to do anything.) enter the server. (If the generation throws you an error, use the method below, but copy the main worlds section from the bukkit.yml, rename it and then follow the steps below.)
- Write
/mv tp <worldname>
- You're done!
If you want this plugin, to generate your main world (recommended):
- Download the plugin
- Drop it in your plugins folder
- Go into your bukkit.yml file (/YourServer/bukkit.yml)
- Add this to the end of the file:
worlds: <main world>: generator: ExtremeTerrain
Delete your world if you generated it before, and then start the server
can i use this for single player?
I put it in mod folder but don't seem to have any effect.
i have a problem in my world..the world self spawns fine...but the world self...is dead.. in the night normal animals spawn but the rest...
no little villages, no temples, no secrets, no animals, no gras, no folowes, no fruits D-:
it would be cool if the world could be generated with a bit more live :§
The opric is nice but the structures look like an old minecraft version like that :(
Are there any seeds you would particularly recommend, or any seed gens you've found to work particularly well?
Works great as always still in 1.12.*
I used this with OrePlus for mad results.
I left a comment on OrePlus with screen
shot showing a world used with
ExtremeTerrain and OrePlus.

*Thanks very much for the recent updates!
I love it. But please add water and lava. Also I think biomes are too far apart. Please continue updates!
Really enjoyed this world in 1.8, but could you update to 1.9?
@mcdorli
I am seeing some biomes that spawn naturally with this but as
RCKing57 said I have not seen any lava/water pits and I have been flying around for hours looking with another person and still have not found any. I am also running the latest version you have on the bukkit page here.
I used world edit to check a claim roughly 13 million blocks x 13 million blocks and got 0 for water and lava
@RCKing57
You probably downloaded an older version. Biomes are as rare as in normal minecraft BTW, there should be no problem with that.
Hello,
For some reason I can only see Forest biomes and there are no water falls or lava falls anywhere.
Are they really rare or is there something wrong?
Thank you,
RCKing57
@epicsherman
Then there's no problem? Huh, i was so scared that at least 30 people downloaded it with a bug.
Hey I actually fixed the problem, first part was that when i downloaded it, the jar was actually empty..... and that i never changed <world> to my world name (Im so stupid lol)... But now it works fine because i re downloaded and fixed both issues. Works great thanks!
@mcdorli
Thanks, I appreciate it.
@epicsherman
Sorry, i messed up the plugin.yml inside the jar file, i will upload the correct one, but it will take some time to be approved, i will reply to you, if it's done.
Hey guys, this plugin looks really cool and I want to use it. However, I have followed the instructions for generating in the overworld using the
worlds: <main world>: generator: ExtremeTerrain
at the end of the bukkit.yml but all my server does is create a normal, minecraft world. Please help. I have no other plugins installed, only this plugin is in the plugins folder
my server says that is has been enabled....
@2008Choco
Thank you, i really appreciate your comment. Actually, after you found a good resource on it, it isn't that hard, literally just going trough all the blocks and using the built in Simplex noise generator to tell, whether a block stone is.
Very interesting. You know, there's not a lot of terrain generator plugins, as their just so complex to create. Obviously, that depends on how detailed you want to go on this plugin. Although the way you took this on, it looks very nice. Terrain looks beautiful (from the screenshots), and it seems to be very smooth as well. Very nice job indeed.
Keep up the great work :) I hope to see more terrain generation plugins from you
I have a tiny hosted server with 5 other worlds loaded and 40 or so plugins.
(3500 Ram) Using Multiverse core for world management.
Latest Spigot 1.8.8 Build tools.
The mad new world loaded lovely and looks really nice in Dynmap so far.
Zero console errors.
It is not nearly as laggy as expected with all the mad shadows and terrain generation.It does a smooth job.
Building a magic server where members have access to 100s spells
including leap and jump spells. Nice for this terrain indeed.
Thanks :) !!! Very cool.10/10 world generator does what it says 100%
+1 like ty.
Thank for your comment, I really appreciate it, i will update this, so it includes biomes too, but it will take some time, because the bugs with some classes in the bukkit api.
