EasyShout
This plugin was requested by rivalcraftowner (http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/formatted-easy-shout.88322/#post-1232663).
EasyShout
Function
Players are able to broadcast messages to the entire server. However, they are only allowed to send one message every configurable amount of time. The default is one minute.
Commands
/shout <message> - broadcasts the message /sh - does the same as /shout
/shout reload - reloads the config file
/shout timeleft - views how much time is left before you can shout another message
/shout mute <playername> - mutes a player from shouting
Permissions
shout.shout - gives access to the /shout command shout.reload - gives access to the /reloadshout command shout.bypass - bypasses the limit shout.coloredmessages - allows the user to color their shout messages shout.mute - allows muting players from shouting shout.mute.bypass - bypass getting muted
Planned features
- Perhaps economy integration?
- Save muted player list
Notice
If you have a space after the ':' symbol in the shout-format field of the configuration, make sure you have quotes around the entire thing (so it will look like this)
shout-format: '<shoutprefix>&f<prefix><name><suffix>: <message>'
Sometimes bukkit (or yaml parser, idk) tries to remove the quotes and then it'll cause yaml parsing issues and reset your configuration.

@TheChinski
I guess I didn't see that one through. It is 'uploaded', but as of now its in the process of being approved by a moderator. I guess I shoudln't say anything until the file is appoved and then put on the bukkitdev site. Give it a day or so and it'll be there.
@MrZoraman
Great! Im sure its gonna be fantastic, but could you upload a new version please? :P
@TheChinski
@TheChinski
I've added an option to mute people from shouting and I implemented factions :)
Wow, Great plugin I've been trying to find a amazing shout plugin for a long time and this one I think is the best
@TheChinski
Thank you for bringing this up! I hadn't thought of this. I'll be sure to whip something up soon.
Oh, and a problem thats just come up - Is there anyway to mute someone? Even with a timer, they can still cause a fair amount of spam etc. I found this from experience earlier today :P
Maybe a /smute command? So as not to conflict with the /mute one already used by essentials. (The s before mute standing for shout) Or a similar command?
Thanks,
Factions integration added to the planned features list :)
I really appreciate the work your doing on the plugin, but can I just make sure Faction Intergation is on the planned features list? :P
Fixed all of your problems :) new file is awaiting approval now
Sorry the plugin isn't working :s I wish bukkitdev sent me alerts when people post on here so I could notice it. I'm working on the plugin now. I hope to have a new version out soon.
Hey, I've recently installed this plugin to use on my economy server as a replacement for global chat and whenever a test it out the server does not respond. No error message, no [Shout] message, nothing. Any ideas at to what I am doing wrong? Or is it the plugin?
Can someone send me a config.yml and settings.yml files, cuz for some reason, mine arnt working. My settings file is empty, and no config appeared for me.
i have a simple question i want to add a space after the colon but every time i add one, it crashes the plugin and replaces the config file with nothing.!
Please help here is my format that i want to use
<shoutprefix><prefix><name>&e: <message> with a space between the colon and <message>
thanks hallowhead1
@MrZoraman
when i use a symbol like, "$" it gives me an internal error. could you look into it?
Factions shouldn't be too hard to implement. I'll see what I can do. Its on my todo list.
Heya,
I have a suggestion, but it'd be a fairly big ask, so don't worry if its too much of a problem. But I was thinking, I'm sure you've heard of the plugin factions? Normally in chat the person has the faction their in next to their name. I'm asking for a new tag in the config (like prefix, name) that works with factions. An integration feature.
As I said, I imagine this would be rather a big job (Not speaking from experience though :P ) so don't worry if it's not worth the effort. :-)
Thanks,
Awesome! I'm away for the week, but I'll be sure to try it when I'm back ;-)
Just updated the plugin. It should contain everything you all asked for. If you have any more suggestions, please tell me. I re-wrote the plugin so that it will be more easily manageable. It shouldn't be too hard to maintain/upgrade.
Sure I'll add that option. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Hello,
I dont suppose I could suggest one thing? An option to turn off the cooldown would be nice. Or maybe an option to not display the message. So they still have the countdown, but they don't see the warning message when they do /shout. They only see it if they do /shout within the cooldown time. If that makes sense... :P
Thanks,
