Easy Portal
Easy Portal version 0.1.0
Allows you to create easy two way portal locations between locations or worlds.
Simple explanation <cough>:
Allows you to create easy two-way portal locations between worlds. With this plugin you can create a named portal, click on a block at one location, then click another block at the second location. When a player physically activates the block through a pressure plate they are transported to the other location.
Portals work in matched sets only. i.e. each portal only has two locations however you can create as many portals as you would like.
Here are the SIMPLE steps to create a portal with EasyPortal:
- setup a Control Block: By default this is a block of glowstone. Place it where you want your portal to be.
- provide a means of physically activating that block. Typically this is placing a pressure plate next to the glowstone.
- Optionally you can place a block of white wool within 3 blocks of the glowstone, this is the ejection point players land on.
- issue the /EPSet command.
- Left click on the first glowstone
- Left click on the second glowstone
- issue the /EPSet command with the name of the portal. i.e. /EPSet [PortalName]
walk on the pressure plate and enjoy!
Here's a quick vid on the usage of the plugin:
Configuration Options: CommandBlock.Ejection - default is "WOOL". the material to search for when ejecting player. If it's not found players are ejected directly above the glowstone. CommandBlock.range - range to search for the ejection block. Default is 3. The higher the number the greater the load on your server.
Awesome. Gonna give this a go. I've had minimal luck with other portal plugins being able to port between worlds. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for spending the time to code this. :)
Note: Hm. Works perfectly, until I turn the server off and back on again. Doesn't save any of the portal points. They're still in the config file from the look of it, they just aren't being recognized by the server.
Hi so when do you think it will work for 1.7.9?
@ReKonsider
The carpet was never really in my roadmap; a button definitely is.
The lever is a bit more difficult because it's sticky i.e. it stays down when you pull it.
Right now the build I'm working on is to transport mobs (entities really) so my minecarts transport when they roll over a pressure plate.
I really like this and none of the other similar plugins I've seen are as simple as this. I plan on using it on my server- thanks a lot!
Just wondering, though- do you plan on making changes so you can use carpet instead of pressure plates? Or even a configurable switch? That'd be nice to see!
I have an update forthcoming within the next 24 hours + bukkit.org approval time (about 1-1.5 weeks)
Changes:
While this awaits approval I wanted to mention the future plans for this plugin - which are currently focused around the other plugins that I use on my servers:
