Shader effects are currently a client-side only feature unfortunately. There are some really cool one's I'd like to use when/if possible in the future.
I've been thinking about ways of making an addiction element, and make it fun at the same time. That is on my TODO list, don't worry ;)

Broadcast option (true/false) now will send the message personally if set to false (rather than broadcast globally)

Organized classes to allow for static API calls (check Developers page)
For Developers: Added 3 Handler classes - DrugHandler (Get drugs, create drugs, manage drugs), PlayerHandler (methods for player effect management), & ConfigHandler (Used for doing config stuff, like checking for updates and such)
For Developers: Added 3 Custom Events - DrugTakenEvent, PreDrugTakenEvent (called before drug is taken, is cancellable) & DMUConfigReloadEvent (called when DMU config is reloaded and drugs are re-gathered)
Type: None - Allows drugs to be considered but does not allow them to be taken (good for servers where cops can see drugs on you, but you don't want them to take the drugs)
PARTICLES! - One of the biggest improvements to DrugMeUp since release, check the Config page for how to set up particles
/dmu - command now works just as /drugmeup
Drug cooldowns - controlled with a global config variable 'DrugCooldown' under options (Set this to 0 to not have a cooldown) - Thanks @stormjez
Fixed:
a TON of code cleanup and reorganization (mainly for API calls)
Block placement while on drugs
Sober cooldown now works fully as expected, taking more and more drugs will reset the cooldown to the new maximum time
Few NPE (NullPointerExceptions) that were getting called from entity problems

So, I've used this plugin before 1.8, now I'm hosting servers again I wanted drugs. I knew this plugin was going to be the right one to use, but I've literally downloaded this plugin 5 times and I have different issues every time use the plugin. First off, I haven't modified anything in the config. nothing, but when I first ran it, I had only sugar and potion working. Inksac and red mushroom weren't working, so I was like okay these two are working i'll modify the config where the ones that were working and just add different effects and names. But for a test run, I copied the sugar and pasted it and changed it to green dye, and nothing started working. So redownloaded again with new config, then all the sudden nothing works, and it goes back and forth, now I'm at the point where I need drugs on my server, and nothing works. Mind helping?
I just want a simple 9 drugs. (Sugar, Greendye, Warts, RedMushroom, BrownMushroom, Seeds, Cocobeans, and pumpkin seeds) And I just want different effects or somewhat for all, but I can't do anything thinking I've done something where the plugin doesn't want to work.
On my server, you take drugs whenever you right click them, not having to hold shift. Is there a way to fix this issue? It makes it impossible to actually sell the drugs with [Sell] Signs.

Is it possible that you could add an ability to add shader effects on to drugs? And the possibility to become addicted to certain drugs?
Is it possible to add the shader effects when you take certain drugs? And would it be possible to add an addiction element?

Please think about adding a cooldown for every drug and a customizable message too! Thank you for updating this old bug gold plugin

When you are on drug, and you're using the same drug again, it's consuming the drug but not giving the effects until the drugs effects finish.

Yes, add this node to the drugs you want to make sneak only: MustSneak: true/false
