Death Messages Plus

Description:

Ever wanted to change the boring death messages? Ever thought that plain white text for death messages was boring? Ever thought that the death messages were not informational enough? Well forget those problems, Death Messages Plus can easily modify death messages, and it supports colors! Written by itunes89, and debugged by skipperguy12, DMP is a great tool. Death messages will be editable by a handy config file that the plugin generates. Death messages will also now display the world the player has died in.

How to install:

Installing is as simple as 3 easy steps!

Download latest .jar from the link at the top.
Drop the .jar file in your servers plugins folder. Reload the server and our plugin will automatically generate you config folder.
Now navigate to the newly created folder(Death_Messages_Plus) in the plugins directory. Open the config.yml with your favorite text editor(Notepad++ Recommended) and the file with guide you through the rest.
Once your done with that. Make sure to reload again for the config file to sync with the server.(Working on a easier way)
- Your done!!

Variables that can be used:

%player% Is the player who died. IE: itunes89 died
%world% The world the user died in. IE: itunes89 died in the world: world_the_end
%displayname% This is the users display name. IE: Owner itunes89 died.
%killer% Is the killer. This can be a mob or a player depending on the message. IE: itunes89 was slain by skipperguy12 or itunes89 was slain by a zombie Future update: Will work with objects such as a cactie, lava or the void if they fall out of the world.
All Bukkit colors and styles. For a list please look in our config.yml file.

Features:

You can use all Bukkit colors, magic characters, bold and italics.
This works with variables(IE: %player% Is the players name.). Supported: Players Name, There display name, the world they died in and there killer(Only works with PVP and Mobs right now.)
Works with all Minecraft Supported death messages. Check them all out here.

Future Updates

%killer% will work with all of the ways a player can die.
I will be adding a /dmp reload command to reload the config file without reload the server.
I hope to add a way to change the messages in game.

Hi,

this plugin is awesome, simple and easy but it does not support all ways to die.

So... do you plan any updates?

It doesnt seem to work for me I changed the death in world to %player% died in the %world% dimension then i reloaded the server then when it launched the death in world it shows up as [playername] died in world [world]

try it on 1.5.2 and it says player died in world in world ?? any idea ?

add please: The blocks someone felt of: (like {Player} felt from a high place (80 blocks) Player was killed by killer using TNT/Sword/Bow/etc. was killed is than Exploded/Slain/Shot/etc

Have to say, only good death message plugin I could find. One suggestion I do have is have an option for random death messages per death cause. So if a player is killed by lava there is several random messages that could be displayed.
