To install, simply place the plugin jar file in your plugins folder and run the server. That's it. Everything else is handled automatically. |

have you noticed that Zeus does get the water breathing instead of Poseidon? maybe you put the code in the wrong spot or something

Yeah, this is a known error, I am working to fix it.
Ok so all I did was put a water bucket in my hand, made myself Poseidon and stayed underwater until all my bubbles disappeared but I still keep drowning! Is anyone else having the same problem?

If you are hosting from home, make sure your ISP's terms allow for home servers. If they don't, your internet may be shut off or throttled.
As for the health bug, I'm still looking into that. A lot of DG2 was coded with a limited understanding of the events system, so it isn't exactly easy to fix without taking a lot of time away from DG3.

Thank you for the info! I'll eventually look into buying a server computer then :( Cause I don't think I'm going to get anything good with shared hosting, and I sure as heck don't want to pay tons for private dedicated server hosting.
Also! I have downloaded the latest demigods update, and while I no longer get the sound or that dying/shaking animation when taking damage, my hearts are still going down and not healing when I go underwater. :(

I don't know about Beastnode, but we host our server ourselves (with 3 other servers on the same machine). The CPU never goes above 12%, and usually is around 3% to 5%.
Memory/RAM is the problem for us: Since 1.6 we've had some huge memory leaks (not sure which plugins cause it) that can take up to 99% (with 8gb allocated).
As TheFlannelBeard said, it's a balancing act to know which plugins can do what... but I'd argue that the server minecraft is running on is more important.

We're going for a balance effect. Since the plugin is still in beta, we feel now is the best time to try certain balance mechanisms. The reason we slowed down Poseidon and Oceanus is because they can carry other players on their back, they have more health, and they swim very fast. If playtesting shows its not popular we'll probably change it to something better.
So far, we've noticed people just tend to be Zeus no matter what... we're still trying to figure out how to fix that (without removing him).

Also, since I run a ton of plugins, If you do need my help with tying into other plugins or need ideas, I can offer what I can from a player-prospective, as a server owner. I cant code, nor do I know anyone that would be a good fit for your team, but I love the concept of what you guys have.
Also, a side note, slowness for Poseidon sucks. xD Itd definitely make players not want to use that. Instead of negative potions added, just have each give bonuses, or even weapon types. The negative effects dont work for player experience.
Another note, when i went from Zeus to Poseidon, my hearts doubled. Could be a bug, not sure.

We use Scavenger, its a very flexible plugin that allows players to drop items at a percentage of the time (1/x chance to drop a few or all items.). The losers of the battle (which i tested and LOVED that battle mechanism) would have scavenger set so they lose that few items at chance. Winners could keep all their gear. Thatd be a solid offering to fit with your plugin, or mimic on your own.
Im thinking DG3 could work if they rank up to where DG3 turns on for them, at higher levels. Or buy the perk to use it with in-game currency. Thatd be a way to blend it. Wont know till we try with the release!!

Nothing negative about it. We run a 138 plugin 8gb server. 4 worlds, 3 of which are terrain control. MagicSpells, a slew of plugins to help with small upgrades people can buy in-game with currency, etc. Mob arenas, seabattle, infected, spleef, pvp, all the minigames you can think of. Really, it just takes managing, bug killing for HOURS, and then keep configuring your plugin configs to work with each other. If you do it right (weve been at it for a year) youll get no lag. Also, it helps to know what plugins cause lag. We avoid the ones that do cause lag, while having plugins that work the same way without lag. Its a balancing act, and you have to love your server enough to sweat, get annoyed with, and spend 20328073409234 hours on.

I was curious, and this isn't meant to sound negative or critical, but how do you deal with that many plugins and not have lag. I ask because I only have 36 plugins, and it feels like my server lags because of it and my CPU usage always seems to hover above 50% most of the time. I'm planning a mob arena, but I worry that my server will lag terribly.. even with just one or two people on.
I don't know how to manage it without getting rid of plugins that are important to me like this one. :(

DG3 isn't meant to mix/match with that many plugins... if you wanted it on your server I'd either setup a seperate world for it (it has multiworld support) or find a clever way to fit it in.
The PvP is split into a quick-rounds system. When in a battle, players auto-respawn with no drops until the battle is over (the plugin decides when it's over). We haven't decided exactly how we'll punish losers- we're looking for good ideas ATM if you'd like to help.

Ok great. Ill wait for DG3, but we have 138 plugins. A lot of them deal with modifying damage, giving upgrade perks, and then of course magicspells. we do have pvp arenas and mob arenas. well, name it, we got it. How will this plugin do with its PVP system against a server like mine? Im talking in general for an in-depth pvp structured server. I dont want to alter our combat system toooooo much.

The problem may have something to do with disabled worlds (for healing). I think I've found the problem for no-drowning. I'll upload a quick fix.

Actually... I've had the same issue for a long while, but I'll try downloading the latest version uploaded to see if it's still that way.
Update: Yeah, I'm still drowning and not healing when coming in contact with water. This has been a problem for a long while, not just the latest update, but I was being patient and hoping this would get fixed :(
Also, I don't know if this is supposed to do this, but Zeus' lightning bolt doesn't do anything.... it just shows the lighting bolt, but doesn't hurt anyone or anything for that matter. This has also been a bug for a while now.

That's a strange bug. Is it happening on any other servers? It isn't happening on my test server or our main one...
I need to be able to replicate the bug to fix it, can you walk me through what you did to get the bug?
