What is 'Damage Control'
• What is 'Damage Control'
Damage Control allows you to change the damage on your server. You can set the damage of any item you want. For example you can tell the plugin that, if a Player is hit by a Player who has a stoneblock in his Hand the damage is increased by 5.
How to use 'Damage Control'
• How to use 'Damage Control'
You can modify the Damage fo each world. To cange the damage in a world go to the plugins folder of your server and open DamageControl/worlds. There will be a textfiles named after the worlds on your server (e.g. 'world.yml', 'world_nether.yml', ...). Detailed information on how to change damage will be in the ReadMe.txt, which is located in the 'plugins/DamageControl' folder after the plugin is installed on the server.
Permissions can be enabled in the config. If permissions is set to true, the plugin will check the permission 'cd.item.[ItemID]' or 'cd.item.[ItemID].[World]' (The World is the world where the player is in, The ItemID is the item the Player has in his hand while dealing damage.)
Available permissions are:
- cd.item.[ItemID]: The Players damage of the Item is set to the config value in every world.
- cd.item.[ItemID].[World]: The Players damage of the Item is set to the config value in the given world.
is there an actual config example? sorry but instructions seem unclear and all the ways i have tried resulted in a reset config.
I have tried
items: {[ '1': 20]} items: [ '1': 20] items: '1': 20 items: { '1': 20}
and tried it without that extra space in the read me. and with differrnt block numbers
no luck
Still really hoping on that spigot fix :D
so if i added ender pearls to the config would it take off the damage for ender pearls whenever players were to use them
Can this make them do the following?: Immune to fall damage when landing on certain block types: Take more damage from things like Fire or lava: Be Immune to Fire/Lava: Thanks~
@mafima
Spigot uses a modified bukkit api which is not able to use all the methods in this plugin. I dont really know how to fix a bug like that but i will try to make it working with spigot.
not working with spigot 1.4.6. r.1.1 recbuild. i did everything right...
Thanks for so many ideas. I will try to get some of them in the plugin.
@CommodoreAlpha
I alredy saw the plugin changedamage, actually bevore i started working on this plugin. I plane to add a new type of damage: truedamage (cant be reduced armor).
The development is currently paused for about 1 month. I stay up to date with new bukkit versions but new features will come after i finished the plugin i'm currently working on.
@xeNiumw0w
it's newrly impossible to set the itemdamage like this because i would have to check every permission of a player to find the permission needed, this would result in big lags when many players are hitting each other.
I hope i can soon finish my new plugin to continiue developing this plugin.
I don't really like this plugins but I almost like this plugins. I hope this plugins support permissions damage control.
e.g cd.item.[ItemID].[Damage].[World]
Why exactly is control spelled "controll"? o_O
Anyway, good plugin, great potential. In fact, it might be too much potential, for what I'm about to elaborate into...
Also, seeing as the plugin, ChangeDamage is out of commission, I was wondering if you could adopt many similar principles to falsevacuum's plugin. Right now, the developer has quit the project, and no one is maintaining it (as far as I can tell), but I'd much rather configure it his way. (e.g. I can have my own equation for fall damage.) The Reverse Polish Notation is a little confusing, but can easily be overcome, though you don't have to implement reverse polish notation.
I would suggest ideas and whatnot, but most ideas I would suggest are in the "to-do" section of his plugin, so it would be easier to look there. Such features include:
I would like to emphasise that this is merely a suggestion to guide the plugin's development, not a request. I don't expect all this to get done; I just wanted to provide you with some insight on where you can (and maybe will) take the plugin.
@Q2Lummox
No the plugin can only change the damage of falling and items.
There is an option to disable the damage on all objects, unless that you set up those in a list?.
@edric12
I will try to make this. Maybe it will be in the next version.
== put the items by permission == ex:Danagecontroll.damage.<id or item name> Danagecontroll.use.<id or item name> facilitate this and help me a lot ^ ^ I must say plugin dont stop!! This plugin goes away!
@TommehRRR
Thanks for this idea.
I planed to add this feature, but changing the armorprotection is harder than changing the damage. I will try to get this Feature as soon as I can.
How about changing how much Armour protects?
@HeadcrabPL The File is currently waiting for approval. it will be there soon.
