SoundCenter
SoundCenter - Music, Sound Effects, Webradio and Voice Chat for Minecraft!
Important
Development for SoundCenter is discontinued, but there is a great alternative that I like to recommend: MCJukebox
Version: v0.3
SoundCenter (formerly CustomMusic) allows you to set music boxes or regions that stream your own music, sound effects or webradio to all players in realtime.
It also implements a simple voice chat for Minecraft.
To use the features that SoundCenter offers, you and everyone who wants to hear music and voice chat must download and use the SoundCenter client.
You do not have to download or install anything. The client is running as a java applet on the website. You will get a message with a link to the client when you join the server. When you follow this link, the client will automatically connect. - Could not be easier.
Here's a video that shows how to use the plugin (Thanks to @jithins):
Development discontinued
Unfortunately I will no longer be able to work or give you support on this project. I am sorry that I couldn't implement all your awesome suggestions.
Thank you for almost 5 years of support, criticism, praise and blame ;) You are awesome!
If you are willing to take over this project, feel free to contact me.
Features
- You can set imaginary jukeboxes, cuboid areas or worlds and biomes as music stations
- You can also use WorldGuard regions as stations
- Stations can either play your own music/ sound effects, or webradio streams
- You can use a command or the client to play songs for yourself, all players in a world, or all players on the server
- You can use any supported audio file that is stored on a public webserver. Filehosters like DropBox will work as well.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, for webradio also OGG
- Everything is easily and intuitively managable with the client's user interface
- Every feature is configurable
- You can limit access with permissions
Extra Features:
- Voice chat
- SoundCenter adds a simple voice chat to your Bukkit server
- You can speak locally (only players that are not far from you can hear you. Volume depends on their distance)
- But you can also speak globally (The whole server can hear you)
- You can disable voice chat on your server if you don't like this feature
- many more to come
How does it work?
Okay so I have SoundCenter installed on my server, what can I do now?
It's easy: Before or after logging into Minecraft, run the SoundCenterClient.jar.
Now you can add songs in the "Music" tab, or add stations in the "Stations" tab. Boxes, areas or WorldGuard regions can be created ingame via /sc set <area|box|wgregion>. That's easier, because the box will be created at your coordinates. You can edit all properties of your stations by pressing the "Edit Station" button in the "Stations" tab.

Before you ask a question, take a look at the frequently asked questions.
@WegFetZ
1. Yes. 2. Yep. 3. You are located in 1 areas: (id: -29414, owner: mm75, distance to border: 12.0) 4. on Sound center.com, debug mode on, no errors. LOG, no errors (from sound center at least :P) 5. volume: 100. music active, voice active. nothing muted
@mm75
Check these points:
I cannot seem to play music at all, i have all perms and uploaded music. it connects but it does not work. what do i do? if you need more info pls tell me...
@WegFetZ
Now it's ok in my panel i can add a port for plugin :) Thanks for your help
@think420
Try to experiment with the area's fadeout range. I noticed unexpected behaviour during my last tests, but then I was not able to reproduce it.
@WegFetZ
Thank you! I must have glazed over the filter settings, and now know about it. ;)
I will try again to get it to work, if not I will get more details, thank you!
@think420
Yes, I answered to it and closed it. I guess you have set to show only open tickets in your filter. I reopened it now.
I checked the tickets and the ticket I made was not there. did you actually get it?
@moisesortiz
Do you still have this problem? I was not able to reproduce it. It works fine on my 3 testing-systems.
@think420
Thank you very much! :)
Created a ticket and sent you a beer ;) Loving it so far.
@MpekGaming @think420
think420 is right (thanks :D).
What type of error do your friends get? Is the applet even loading? Is it a Java security error? Is your server running on your own pc? - If so, did you forward the right port?
@LoicRock
A dedicated server can still have blocked ports. I'm afraid I can't think of any other solution than the UDP packets being blocked.
@WegFetZ
For the port i have a dedicated server. In debug mode no errors
@MpekGaming You really have to help the developer out more than that. If you get an error you say what the error is. You CANNOT say I have an error, why? What exactly is giving you the error, and what IS the error? Don't forget, he does this in his spare time for free.
@WegFetZ
They try, but error, why ?
@MpekGaming
Do they use the client?
I have a problem. I can hear music, but my friends cant. Please help me :(
@think420
Seems like you cannot use DNS names in the server.properties. Thanks for reporting. I will add a server-ip field to SoundCenter's config. Until then you can use the plugin without setting the ip. You will have to fill in the address manually the first time you use the SoundCenter client. But don't worry, it will be saved, so you don't have to do this again and again.
I'm trying to set this up. I want to use my server address and not the IP because the IP is not static. I use NOIP to redirect. The site address is: minecraftlords.zapto.org
I put it in the server.properties file like this:
server-ip=minecraftlords.zapto.org
When I start up the server, I get this error:
http://pastebin.com/dPzDz8XC
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
@fieldforensics
Sorry but if you are not capable of finding the how to use page, I don't think that you should use this plugin (or even run a Minecraft server). Don't get me wrong, but using this plugin requires some responsibility and I don't believe that you always know what you are doing. Please don't spam the comments.
