CreeperHeal
CreeperHeal
CREEPERHEAL HAS MOVED TO SPIGOT
Protects your server against Creepers, TNT, and griefers!
CreeperHeal is more than a griefing protection plugin : it repairs the damage done by explosions (Creepers, TNT, etc...) and fire, in a natural way! Stay a while after a Creeper made a hole, and you will see the terrain pop back slowly, block per block, exactly as it was before the explosion! That way, your players will still be afraid of Creepers, but your server will continue looking nice!
- Anti-Griefing features
- Natural healing of the terrain after an explosion
- Fully customisable
- Easy installation and configuration
- Now compatible with WG
Crashes my server once its enabled.
Works 100% on my server, i have no errors or bugs. Running with 1.3.1
i have been advised by technical team for my server that this plugin is the cause of my server crashing and stopping.
does anyone know of any alternatives to this plugin?
Sad to see this plugin being abandoned :(
Would anyone else know a decent replacement, because this plugins is rather bugged (heals only a part of the blocks)
@weathros
i actuelly find creeperheal can even crash the main thread, crashing my server. its probably cos i have guns, which create explosions magically. i very much agree that after 1.3, the problem has been getting worse, with me having to restart or reboot the server every 5-6 hours :/
@nitnelave
you have stopped developing? :( its a brilliant plugin.
@nitneleave Hi. Sorry to hear you have stopped developing this plugin. It has been high quality, very useful and "first thing you install" along with Essentials and World* so I'd like you to know that and to extend my apprechiation for what you have done. I hope you find someone to continue development.
But that was not my original intent with this post. I have some input to you or whomever wants to have a crack at the lag issue.
From my experience there is an exponential increase in lag (CPU usage) based on size of regeneration queue. I have set Monster Apocalypse to populate the world with Giant that explode upon death and spawn 15 Zombies. The explosion radius was set fairly high (6 blocks). At 1.2.5 this worked great. After the 1.3.1 update there was not a really problem, "but something was lagging something somewhere". So I upgraded all the modules recently to their latest version, in most cases supporting 1.3.1. This included upgrading to the latest CreeperHeal. I Was running CH 4.13 and it was not lagging too much. I upgraded to latest CH and the lag quickly took down the server. Doing a queue purge manually dropped CPU somewhat (from 16% to 10% on a 16 core system). Removing CH and it idles on 0%.
@nitnelave
Hey thanks for looking into this. When I have blown up redstone laced blocks, I am absolutely sure that there are no items left after the explosion. Once the healing begins to occur, most of everything is placed correctly, but there are a few times where I will see a redstone dust item or torch appear when the block that is supposed to support it has not yet been recreated.
It appears that CH does identify everything that needs to be replaced, but the check to see if it is placing on an air block seems to not always return the expected result.
Everyone, As far as I can tell, there has been no change directly concerning CreeperHeal in the 1.3.1 update, so the 1.2.5 version is valid. As for the lag, I can't tell where it comes from, and I may try to find its source. But Keep in mind that I have stopped developing this plugin. If anyone is willing to take over this project, please contact me.
@celendis
Replacing redstone is a big problem for me, as not all of it is detected when it blows up. Normally, there should be a check and it shouldn't try to replace redstone on void. Are you sure that it isn't restone being destroyed at the moment of the explosion? If not, I'll try to see what the problem is in the next update.
@wandering_soul
That's what I noticed as well....
I think this plugin may be creating lag in 1.3.1, as we had a sudden lag spike (ticks per second reduced from 20 to 17-18) after adding this plugin (every time terrain is being healed) Is there an estimate on when there will be an update, and if so, will the update be able to look into this issue?
@Foerster44 @NefhithS117
As far as I can tell on my server, this works fine with 1.3.1.
Please update this plugin for 1.3.1! I don't want to miss it when I update my server to 1.3.1, it's just too awesome to have explosion damage repair itself!
Does this work with 1.3.1? I mean, the 1.2.5 version with 1.3.1
@nitnelave I love this plugin. I run a private server, so I don't really have to worry about the griefing capabilities, but I love having the terrain healing when creepers blow themselves up (or when we turn on tnt protection and have fun watching it fill gaping holes in the world!). However, it appears that sometimes when healing, the algorithm will place redstone dust or a torch before the block it is supposed to be resting on has been regenerated. This results in the redstone dust being turning into a drop rather than the actual item in the world. Could you perhaps have the replacement algorithm replace these types of items after all solid blocks have been placed?
Thanks again for such a great plugin!
Yea it does for me.
this work ok with 1.3?
@kuyakolin
If your using GriefPrevention, GP protects land that has a value of 1 or higher of sun light. Anything below that is fair game. Makes it less of of a reason to use both. I figured that out after I noticed things didnt break above ground after disabling Creeperheal.
I Love this Plugin, it keeps the fear of the SSSSSsssss without destroying the Map,
i am still using V4.12 and it works very well, and it also respects GriefPrevention claims
Thanks for a Great Plugin
@nitnelave
This post should be at the top, Granted I am still having issues with CH, So bad it kept crashing my server. Great mod, but replaced it with another.
left side is with it enabled, right side is without, This is without changing any other mod, And this is also with a fresh config file 5.0.1, cb 1.2.5 R4.

Also note that, somehow this also breaks the ability to see boundaries with GriefPrevention.
@Hauke1988
The only ticket from you is one about heroes compatibility, and I answered there.
Ozelo, what dosn't work with the traps? Have you downloaded the CreeperTrap plugin?
@sheepwool7
It is updated, the 1.2.5-4.0 update chaged nothing in the API.
