Backpack
Everyone wants extra storage, Backpack!
Do not use the 1.6.x builds of backpack with a 1.7.x. server....
Backpack
Core Features
- Configurable Drop on death
- Uses Vault for Economy handler.
- Allow your players to expand their Backpack from 9 slots to a max of 54.
- Multiworld support with different Backpacks or Sharing!
- Overflow abilities from players main inventory. (Must have at least 1 open slot to make overflow abilities work).
- Blacklist Abilities - deny certain items in the Backpack
- Fully functional API.
Spout Enabled Features
[Requires SpoutPlugin ]
- Custom GUI for Upgrading Backpacks.
- Custom Hotkey assignments for opening Backpack.
Multi-Server Enabled
- This plugin is written for both Bukkit and Spout Servers.
Developers:
- AlmuraDev Team
Configuration
File: config.yml
General:
- use-economy: Whether or not to enable economy system for backpack purchase & upgrades.
- use-spout: Whether or not to enable SpoutPlugin based features.
Admin:
- control-panel: Enable or disable Admin Panel.
- hotkey: KEY_V {default keybinding inside of Spoutcraft to display Admin Panel}
Backpack:
- no-perm-default-size: 9 {default backpack size if no permissions system found}
- hotkey: KEY_B {default keybinding inside of Spoutcraft to open Backpack}
File: blacklist.yml
- Contains list of items you dont want users to save in their backpack.Follow file format automatically created. Use only names of materials, not numbers.
File: share.yml
- Contains list of backpack shareable worlds.
share: world: - world_nether - world_end
In this above configuration, WORLD is the name of the Parent World. The child objects below it will be the name of shared worlds from the parent. Simply modify the name of your Parent Worlds to get the specific world sharing you desire.
- If you used any previous build of Backpack prior to build 81, I would advise you that if you decide to use the world sharing feature, delete any world directory in your /backpacks/ directory that is now being shared. The existence of these now un-used files give troubles for the upgrade procedure under very specific circumstances.

Many thanks for your consideration.
@crore
I suppose you could just allow the maximum buyable size to 9 in the config, so users can't upgrade themselves, then you can edit the plugins>backpack>backpacks>world>[user] file to whatever size you want at the top. Just be sure to keep it in multiples of 9, with 54 as the max. Not sure what problems could happen if you don't follow the 9 multiple.
is there a way to use this with a command block such as @p backpack upgrade? or a command for and admin to upgrade it /backpack player upgrade?
ps awsome plugin!
@e1kfws7
What exactly isn't working? The permission allows you to purchase a larger bag, it doesn't simply automatically give you the 18 slots. In your case, upgrading from 9 slot backpack to 18. Having that permission doesn't let you purchase the 18 slot bag through the "v" GUI (on Spout) or "/backpack upgrade" (without Spout)?
@Chaznuts
Still doesn't work :/
@e1kfws7
Try going into the file instead of doing it through a command.
@Chaznuts
I'm using /mangaddp D backpack.size.18
@e1kfws7
That doesn't make sense. Are you manually adding it to your permission plugin/bukkit perms, or are you using an in-game command?
backpack.size.18 When i try to add this perm to a group it says you cant add a perm you don't have help?
@TaxConsumption This plugin stores extra items in a "backpack," which is accessed through "b" (by default). In theory, it is sort of like having a portable chest everywhere, but the sizes can be increased by 9s, starting at 9 and ending at 54 extra slots (not including the player's normal "e" inventory/hotbar).
@midnightfender When you updated, did you read the red text in the plugin description? It gives instructions how to fix what you're probably experiencing. Also, make sure your "plugins>backpack>share.yml" file has all 3 worlds in it, or more (including world, world_nether, and world_the_end). See if that works.
I've implemented Backpack on my server and we have noticed it keeps separate backpacks in the nether and the end from the outworld backpack, these backpacks are fully separate and do not effect each other in upgrade size or contents is there a way of unifying the backpacks so 1 backpack works for all worlds?
-midnightfender
is this the plugin that allows the player to store items in an actual container chest with the command ?
@xicheekx
That's because the permission "backpack.size.*" is for allowing users to upgrade to that size, not the starting size.
Hi, there is a problem. It automatically makes all backpacks to 9 slots, no matter if the node backpack.size has been added onto the permissions, the only way to make a bigger back pack is to upgrade, and still then it wont take Money out of the players account. If anyone can help resolve this issue, private message me your skype username, or just reply here. Thanks :)
RE POST I DID NOT GET ANY HELP.
Hi there. Thanks for fixing 2 of the problems i pmed you about a while back. Is there any way you can implement my other request? Here's what I wrote:
...While upgrading the pack size, it costs a cumulative amount of money (specified in the config) to upgrade bags. This would be fine IF it was just for skipping a bag. For example, if each bag was $1000, instead of buying the 18 slot bag for $1000, they simply bought the 27 slot bag for $2000. That would be fine, but if a player buys the 18 slot one first, it would charge them $1000, and then they purchase the 27 slot one, it would then charge them $2000, adding up to $3000 total. Not sure if this is a bug, but for the same thing at different intervals, it should be the same price in my opinion.
Thanks for your plugin and I hope you can fix this! :)
@RagginMAMA
are you using the spout client? Download the spout client from here That should fix your problem :)
I have the spout plugin and the backpack plug in, both load, but can't seem to use the hotkeys. I'm not sure what the issue is, there isn't an error I can find. I'm new to spout, and am not sure if there is something I have to give permissions for there...
thanks for your help.
ok so i am having some issues. people will have backpacks and they will work fine. i havent been able to replicate my self but others on my server will just randomly lose there backpack. like it will open but be no extra slots. any ideas or help?
@seifpic
I thought I would not need the Vault plugin.
But thanks. I tried downloading and installing the plugin and it works.
@nftbu
Try downloading Vault: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vault/
Any informations regaring compatibility to 1.4.6 oder 1.4.7. I tried build 2600 but the plugin is not loading.
But I haven't turned economy on. Spout version 1.4.6 b1412 and dynmap is installed in addition.
