Backpack
Everyone wants extra storage, Backpack!
Do not use the 1.6.x builds of backpack with a 1.7.x. server....
Backpack
Core Features
- Configurable Drop on death
- Uses Vault for Economy handler.
- Allow your players to expand their Backpack from 9 slots to a max of 54.
- Multiworld support with different Backpacks or Sharing!
- Overflow abilities from players main inventory. (Must have at least 1 open slot to make overflow abilities work).
- Blacklist Abilities - deny certain items in the Backpack
- Fully functional API.
Spout Enabled Features
[Requires SpoutPlugin ]
- Custom GUI for Upgrading Backpacks.
- Custom Hotkey assignments for opening Backpack.
Multi-Server Enabled
- This plugin is written for both Bukkit and Spout Servers.
Developers:
- AlmuraDev Team
Configuration
File: config.yml
General:
- use-economy: Whether or not to enable economy system for backpack purchase & upgrades.
- use-spout: Whether or not to enable SpoutPlugin based features.
Admin:
- control-panel: Enable or disable Admin Panel.
- hotkey: KEY_V {default keybinding inside of Spoutcraft to display Admin Panel}
Backpack:
- no-perm-default-size: 9 {default backpack size if no permissions system found}
- hotkey: KEY_B {default keybinding inside of Spoutcraft to open Backpack}
File: blacklist.yml
- Contains list of items you dont want users to save in their backpack.Follow file format automatically created. Use only names of materials, not numbers.
File: share.yml
- Contains list of backpack shareable worlds.
share: world: - world_nether - world_end
In this above configuration, WORLD is the name of the Parent World. The child objects below it will be the name of shared worlds from the parent. Simply modify the name of your Parent Worlds to get the specific world sharing you desire.
- If you used any previous build of Backpack prior to build 81, I would advise you that if you decide to use the world sharing feature, delete any world directory in your /backpacks/ directory that is now being shared. The existence of these now un-used files give troubles for the upgrade procedure under very specific circumstances.
Permissions
Here's a list of specific permissions nodes for this plugin and what each does.
- backpack.use = Allows the users to use the Backpack itself.
- backpack.upgrade = Allows for users to upgrade their Backpack.
- backpack.keepitems = Allows users to keep items in Backpack upon player death.

@aug_88 @w7gamer: Go backpack.* doesnt exist use backpack.use @aug_88
You DO know what ".*" does right?
And yes, I have .use and all the other set in my groups, the added backpack.* was just an attempt to override any mistake and make sure I had perms. No matter what's done though I keep getting that I don't have permissions to use it in bPermissions (works in PermissionsEX).
@w7gamer
w7gamer
backpack.* doesnt exist
use backpack.use
i have tried 1000 configurations but the backpack upgrade doesnt seem to work for my donator perk
OK, tried to narrow it down so it wasn't another plugin interfering. Ran with backpack.* permission and OP, only bpermissions, vault and backpack, nothing else. Still get that I don't have enough permissions to use it.
Removed vault as well as it's listed as a soft dependency and only for economy (that wasn't running) and then backpack won't load at all and throw a dependency error (vault). Even with the ecenomy setting set to false it keeps throwing a dependency error for vault.
Reenabled Vault but kept settings to not use eco just so I could get it loading, turned off spout setting and Spout plug, still can't use /backpack due to lacking permissions...
Something is severely off with Backpack/Portables and permissions handling with bPermissions...
Need an advice. Backpack is still running on my 1.5.1 server ( build 2710) everthing works fine except the sharing function. Every world is configured and added to the share.yml but it doesnt work. Every world got its own backback. How can i fix it? thx in advance
@Chaznuts
S = Sort (SortStack).O = Open workbench (Portables) (Borth part of what used to be BukkitInventoryTools by the same authors). what I meant with /Backpack (Upgrade) was that neither /Backpack (top open backpack) or /Backpack upgrarde works as it claims I don't have permissions. (I do). V for the admin panel works as I stated which should already tell you that I do have spout enabled.
Using PermissionsEX I kind have it working, but for some reason I have to use /backpack once to open it 'manually' before the shortcut will work. In bPermissions (which I'm moving to) SortStack works, but Backpack and Portables does not (well, admin panel in Backpack does, but nothing else). When I say "not work" I just mean the permissions, otherwise it generates no errors and doesn't affect anything, I just can't use it as it thinks I don't have permissions. Thank you for taking time to try and help though.
@Ubique1964
"Admin Control Panel" is simply just the GUI to upgrade sizes. It is not really just for ops or admins, but merely a way for a PLAYER to ADMINISTRATE their own backpack. If you are the server owner, you can find and adjust the player's backpacks (size and items) in the flatfile, found under Plugins>Backpack>Backpacks>World>[user]. There probably won't ever be an option to downgrade, which is why there are size limitation permissions. If you don't want a group or player having a certain size, don't give them the permission. Hope that helps!
@w7gamer
The default keys are B and V, so I'm not sure where you're getting O and S. If you're using Spout, make sure the "use-spoutplugin:" is on "true." Also, what was that "/Backpack (upgrade)" command you mentioned? It should be simply "/backpack upgrade" and no specifications of what size it will be. That command, with "use-spoutplugin: true," will plain and simply just open the Spout upgrading GUI, and it won't upgrade for you (unless you have "use-spoutplugin" on false). Try that out and let me know if anything is resolved.
@Zombine911
Was it working for you prior to 1.5? This is what your share.yml page should look like to share between the nether, the end, and the overworld (replacing all 3 "world"s with your world name), and don't forget your permission "backpack.share":
share:
world:
- world_nether
- world_the_end
Does this work properly with bPermissions? for some reason I get that I don't have permissions (despite being OP AND having all permissions set). Hotkeys B, O, I does nothing, V and S works for some reason (All of them are registered in Spoutcraft). Using /Backpack (upgrade) gives that I lack permissions to use it. Using latest bPermissions and Vault, 1.4.7 server. even in debug mode no errors are generated. Also having issued in PEX where I have to use /backpack once before the hotkey will work.
Sharing worlds is broken in 1.5.1. Refuses to share a backpack with any world. I have even specified which worlds.
Hey,
Will this plugin ever support mysql?
P
@Punishkey
It still works for me, using Bukkit Dev 1.5.1
You mention Admin tools? Where and how do ytou use them or it that stuffed. Also a way to downgrade whould be good
update 1.5?
@MrRainea
It isn't really a bug, but does need a fix as it wasn't well thought through. If you have "use-spout: true" in the config, then you MUST be on spout to upgrade your size. Typing in "/backpack upgrade" will bring up the Spout upgrade GUI if it is on true, but if you're not on Spoutcraft, you will not be able to see it. For now, either use the Spoutcraft client, or turn "use-spout" to false (you will still be able to get into your backpack screen, but will just have to type "/backpack" instead of using your hotkey).
Anyone Hello?
/backpack upgrade Doesnt Work at all? I have Spout,Vault,Bukkit and this Plugin. How do i enable /backpack upgrade without using the SpoutCraft client? Also i have the Economy as well enabled true and set the prices 100 200 300 etc. But when i use the command it don't work? or any console message.
@stephenmac7
it only requires spout to use the spout features otherwise you only need Vault.

something that really needs to be added is a way to view other players backpacks if you have the right permission. Being a server owner and a big fan of Invsee and openinv having this feature would be a must on any server. As it stands anyone can hide items in the backpacks and no staff member or even OP's would be able to find out what they have unless Your the Owner and go searching through the flatfiles.... I hope this is a feature you will highly think about adding in other than that my players love it and is a great plugin! Thanks.
