Basic Info:
This plugin allows snow golems to become hostile. Pretty much as simple as that. Just put the jar in your plugins folder. Snow golems spawn naturally at night and melt when the sun comes up. Damage is configurable, and spawn rate at night is configurable.
Bugs should be reported on GitHub.

Not much has changed from 1.7.2 to 1.7.10 as far as the Bukkit API goes, go ahead and try the current lastest build :)

I can do that. They spawn in the place of other mobs. You can change their spawn rate in the config. I'll add an option to only allow them to spawn on blocks where there is snow or in a cold biome.
Again, will be added in the 1.7 release. Anticipating that'll be done soon :)

well the speed / slowness potion effect is fine too.

Sounds cool, I've got a build that you can edit the damage, have configurable puddles and trails, biomes I can add pretty easy, spawn rate is already there how fast they shoot is the biggest problem and as for walk speed, I can apply a speed/slowness potion to them with the given power of the option.

Np! I love it that the Snow Golems are angry, no other way to get this happening. Also the Snow Golem seems to fire in really fast rate, perhaps make possibility in config where you can change the following settings:
spawn-rate: 0-100 (the higher it is, the more they spawn, 0 disables spawning completely basically it doesn't even LOAD the plugin)
damage: 0-100 (5 = 1 heart , 10 = 2 hearts etc. 100 = 20 hearts, 1 shot kill)
attack-rate: 0-100 (20 = 1 snowball per 1 seconds, 60 = 1 snowball per 3 seconds, 100 = 1 snowball per 5 seconds, 20 ticks = 1 second)
movement-speed: 0-100 (20 = iron golem walk speed, 60 = zombie walk speed, 100 = baby zombie walk speed, which is really fast. If set less than 20 then its even slower than iron golem)
biomes: beach, desert, desert_hills etc

1st one, I haven't coded in a fix for that yet... And 2nd.. flaw in my code, will fix it tomorrow, thanks for helping out! :D
Ok some trouble:
Even in game mode 1 (creative) the golems are hostile and try to fire at you. Its fine but annoying.
If the golem dies next to a fence (not sure if the same happens if next to a block) the fence dissappears and it leaves water (if dieing in sunlight)
