Alright, RC5 is up, and at this point there's nothing left to do before release but test it.

I won't have the android client done for release- I've dug myself into a hole that I need to fill before the android client will work.

Essentially, I need to switch from doing my own key exchanging to using SSL. This will require a bit of a rewrite, but it'll be:

• easier to maintain
• will make an android client possible and easier
• probably be more secure
• be much less of a headache

So, that will be set for v2, and will also include a more robust way to pick the things that adminbuddy notifies you about.

A new release candidate is up! This will hopefully be the last.

After much stalling, I only have one to-do left before the 1.0 release:

• Add an /ab import command to re-read authorized_keys without a restart.

The android app is coming along well, and I'm cleaning up the plugin's code as I re-use it in the android app.

I'll probably release another snapshot soon, though the android app is still far too alpha to see the light of day.

• Refactoring UI code to split it from the networking code
• Revamped client-side configuration

Todo:

• Revamp server-side config
• Begin work on Android client, to make sure I've made the networking code reusable enough.

I've started work on the Android client. Specs:

• Targeting Android 4.0 and higher
• Will work on tablets and phones
• Still trying to decide how I'll handle ads/price for the app on the Google Play Store (desktop client + plugin will always be ad-free and with no price, though)

The client is getting to be in pretty good shape at this point, and the entire server backend is essentially finished.

Last things I'm working on:

• I'm not happy with how pubkeys and the usernames they're linked to are stored server-side, might revamp that.
• The chat panel still needs a little more love, I've seen intermittent weirdness (things like the chat stops auto-scrolling for no apparent reason, etc)

Non-essential:

• I need to refactor some things to split the client code from the UI code, to support a potential Android client
• might enable GZIP compression for client/server communication, still need to investigate if that introduces any issues

It's still rough enough that there's not a lot of interesting functionality- all it does at this moment is let you chat- kinda- on the server. Here's a gif of it in action: http://i.imgur.com/i34tXJR.gif

But in terms of like, technical stuff, the vast majority of it is working. (Just the fact that it connects is proof enough!).
