About
GrandExchange gives players commands to buy and sell their hard earned Minecraft items. Whenever a deal is made, they can use the collect command to add money to their account (using whatever economy is hooked into Vault on the server) if they sold items, or add the items to their inventory if they are buying them.
If you are familiar with the game RuneScape, then you know that their in-game auction house is a little different than most games. GrandExchange works like an auction house, meaning that players can post offers to buy and sell their Minecraft items, provided they have enough money or enough of the item to sell.
The best part of using this type of exchange over a regular auction house is that players can post offers to buy an item in the GrandExchange, instead of just offers to sell items. Whenever another player finally comes up with that item to sell at the buyer's price, then the players make the exchange automatically. A regular auction house just lets you post offers to sell, and hope that someone searches for your item. GrandExchange trading is purely based on price, you won't see who is buying or selling what items.
How-To
(further explained in the commands page)
Want to buy an item? Make sure you have enough money then type /ge buy <item_name> <quantity> <price>. As soon as someone is selling the item for that price or less you will buy it!
Example: /ge buy obsidian 100 5 (Will create an offer to buy 100 obsidian for 5 each, or 500 in total!)
Want to sell an item? Make sure the items are in your inventory then type /ge sell <item_name> <quantity> <price>. As soon as someone is buying the item for that price or more, you will sell it!
Example: /ge sell diamond_sword 2 400 (Will create an offer selling 2 diamond swords for 400 each, or 800 total if both sell!)
After your offers are made, check up on them with /ge list buy, and /ge list sell.
Features
- Uses Vault to work with your server's economy; no further economy setup needed if you have an economy plugin
- Uses Bukkit's permissions and has default permissions setup; only a few are used to control trading
- Purely player based trading; GrandExchange does not ruin economies with prices I make up, spawned items, etc.
- Configurable to only allow usage of the GrandExchange commands at admin-created trade stalls instead of globally
- Configurable to set a maximum number of offers each player can have active at once
- Configurable to set minimum and maximum prices per item, and the maximum quantity of items in an offer
- Enable/disable the ability to look up an item's price on the current market
