WurmSniping
Tired of standart bows shooting with a maximum range of 20 Blocks?
Want to hit point-accurate over a distance of up to 80 Blocks?
Or just want to snipe your mates?
Then you should really try...
WurmSniping
The Plugin that brings sniper rifles with zeroing to your server!
What is WurmSniping?
WurmSniping is another awesome plugin by Regenwurm97 that adds the ability to transform bows in deadly sniper rifles with an effective range of OVER 80 Blocks! Get yourself a ghillie armor and hide on a good position to kill other players from a distance they didn't even know an arrow could fly. The arrow flies point-accurate so you will hit the block you are targeting at - if your zeroing level is right ;)
How does it work?
Simply take a bow into your hand and hide yourself by sneaking. After some seconds the zeroing interface will load up...
You can scroll through the different wool blocks to change your zeroing level to your preferances.
If you're not sure about the distance to your target, you can get a rangefinder with the command /rangefinder. This will help you when trying to esteminate the right zeroing level.
You can also check my video to WurmSniping if you want the whole stuff combined in one:

or check out a russian video of it:

The Rangefinder
While beeing in the zeroing interface and wearing a rangefinder, the distance to the block you're looking at can be displayed by rightclicking with the wool block. The rangefinder will then calculate the distance to the block your crosshair is facing at and post the result in the chat.
When you think you've got the right distance, head on to set your zeroing...
The Zeroing Interface
You can scroll through the different colored-wool blocks, going from green (close target) to red (far target). The current zeroing level will be displayed above your XP-Bar and your shooting-angle will be updated so your arrow would hit exactly the target block. Simply left-click or stop sneaking to close the interface.
KEEP IN MIND: The zeroing is now set as the angle your looking. If you change this angle now, the zeroing might be incorrect and the arrow might not hit the target. Zeroing your bow is just a help for the hardly-calculatable, parabolshaped arrow flight!
When you think you're ready, load an arrow and shoot it :)
Commands
/sniping - Basic stuff
/sniping info - Tutorial how to set up a sniper bow
/sniping dev - Get an information about the developer :)
/sniping rangefinder - Tutorial how to use the rangefinder
/rangefinder - Gives you a rangefinder cap
Permission Nodes
sniping.zero - Permission to use the Sniper Bow (+ Zeroing Interface)
sniping.rangefinder - Permission to use the command /rangefinder
What will be implemented in the next Version(s)
- MAYBE real-zeroing option (so you shoot directly to where your aiming at, the arrow will get an extra angle when launched as in reality)
- Ghillie-Suit-Kit
- Configurations on the maximal Sniping Distance
- Extreme long Sniping Distances (up to 200 Blocks!)
- Even MORE accurate & faster, straighter flying arrows

@mrsagency
Hey!
Wow now there are really some cool ideas in your post :o Looks like much work for me but like those ideas indeed ;) (Unfortunately?) I'm still on holyday in France so I will try to work on this after my return in 2 weeks...
I noticed that for most ppl, wurmsniping is currently too difficult to use or needs too long to use in combat. So I will try to make a renewed version of this, enabling you to zero your bow only when you want to. After being zeroed, your bow will always work with the distance; you dont always have to sneak for 3 seconds.
Also, I will try to implement a zooming-function and easier usage :) Hope you will like it!
Hi, Regenwurm97.
I got some suggestions(no tickets) and I wanna show you.
1. Pathfinder can be applied on the bow.
- Crafting Recipe of the Pathfinder Bow:
- Bow+Redstone Torch+Diamond ==> Pathfinder Bow
Hopefully recipe can be customized by our will.
2. In sniping mode, the character is locked on the location he stands until the action completes(the player cannot move himself). In the mode, walking forward==>Increase Range, walking backward==>Decrease Range, moving crosspoint(+)==>Reset the target[Being moved by environment factors/taking damage and move will also reset the sniping], sneak/scrolling to another item==>Cancel, hold right click to charge and directly shoot the arrow, after the shot the player can once move himself.
3. Pathfinder Bow has an Enchantment: Accuracy[Shown in the lore], Accuracy of the bow(depends on the distance, further target has lower accuracy)
4. Makes enchanted bow to become a Pathfinder Bow with its previous enchantment. And Pathfinder Bow can be enchanted.
@Crysillion
Um well I could implement that yea ;0
What're the odds a Lite version of some kind could be released?
I like the concept of being able to shoot further if you have certain permission nodes, but I don't like the rangefinding or zeroing in.
@Makemyday17
Do you want a bow that shoots arrows that fly like a fireball or what do you want? :D
Please, why all this rangefinder and zeroing stuff? I just want the ability to have a bow that shoots longer and more stable, like a sniper.
@poonjab1_0
Hey!
Yeah I wish that would be possible as well but I don't know how :l The thing is, I don't really like triggering things like the zeroing-menu with commands...this is just not my style ;) But as I think theres no other way atm I will propably implement this and it should be good to go ;D
I love the idea, maybe make it so you can zero in while shooting?
@Jarrett78
O.o is there one?
If yes: Please send me your error log and I'll try to fix it!
Please fix the confliction between this and Monster Apocolypse
cool idea dude
@Regenwurm97
Good idea, but I think that you need to add a diamond in craft. Why so serious? Because only Elite Snipers can use rangefinder :D
@SannyOK
Rangefinder currently isnt craftable but I could actually implement a recipe like this: A leather helmet & a redstone torch
How about that? :)
So have RANGEFINDER a craft?
This conflicts with the Monster Apocalypse plugin.
@TrompeOeil
You really have to ;) I will try to implement the real zeroing option today btw....found out it's very difficult to aim at entities that are some blocks below or above your y-level
Hope I can get this ;)
Hey!
Yet another plugin from you, I'll definitely try this. ^.^
@Celetrontmm
There is a download just had some complications with the bukkit stuff ;) sorry for the delay
BTW: I experienced that it can be very difficult to zero on targets that are only some blocks below or above ur level :l Hope I can fix this with the "real zeroing" option in the next version.
So.. no download? or is it not done yet? Kinda confused :/
