Due to the current direction of Minecraft, I have decided to discontinue development on this plugin. I learned a lot from other open-source projects during the development of Shipwrecked. My repository will remain open for cloning. You are welcome to email me with any questions at [email protected]
I've been watching this plugin for a few months now.... glad to hear you are continuing development! As soon as it is updated I'm going to test it out and possibly use it....
Hey all! Wow that was a while without development. If it still works with 1.7.9, that's incredible! I feel like I have let you all down, so I plan on updating this soon and releasing a more optimized version. (and finish structures haha)
Hope to see you all soon!
@willies952002
I am using 1.7.9 and it works!
any ETA for 1.7.8 compatibility?
It would be great if you could have shipwrecks randomly spawn in existing worlds.
I love the plugin, but I had a problem. When I used it to generate maps, it has very noticable and ugly chunk issue. It would seemingly create like islands out of islands if that makes sense. If you look at it via dynmap it looks like a poorly created worldpainter map. But I love the trees and river beds.
Is there a way that I can make it so that emeralds/diamonds/gold aren't so abundant? I had no idea it was giving out tons of ore... it nearly killed my servers economy.
Hey I personally love the concept for this generator! Currently I am putting together a server that would really benefit from worlds that are like this. Some Concerns I have with it currently are the trees, they seem a bit too round, however other than that i can't wait to see this completed! If you get the chance make sure to message me when you are finished with the structures so I can try it out! Thanks!
@DahDuff
If you are using a preview build, starting somwhere in there they stop being forward compatible. I will try to resolve this issue before the official release, but for now 1.6.4 is only supported on the stable builds, not the snapshot.
@Alexzander95
I seem to get this error too :/
I use /mvcreate worldname normal -g ShipGen and it says Starting Creation of World... FAILED What do I do?
@Apecengo
As this generator is separate from the vanilla world gen, that means the biomes between generators are not the same, they are only in name. While in the future I will probably make my own versions of the new biomes (after 1.0 release), my generator will not have the new vanilla biomes added yet.
TL;DR: Biomes are only a name and rainfall setting. My generator does everything else on its own.
Will this plugin be updated with 1.7 biomes? I'd love to use it when I reset my map :)
PM me if you would like me to consider adding your structure to the world gen. This will only be available until I make enough structures for my liking in the generator, so send them soon!
Looking forward to a great 0.8 release with all this bug testing. Also, I have implemented the configuration api in the latest 0.8 preview if you noticed. In the code repo I have most of the configuration done, so all that stand between us and 0.9 after 0.8 is released is optimization, yaay!
I uploaded another preview release, it has some bugfixes, but most importantly it now has a help command, and requires Op. Use '/struct help' ingame to check out how to use the command. We just need an in-depth structure tutorial, and some default structures to ship with the plugin before the official release, so stay tuned!
@RandomSomething98
Its sort-of complicated and dependant on how your server is set up with the bukkit yml, but basically if your world's name is world then add this to bukkit.yml:
Remember, YML uses spaces, and will not accept tabs.
I tried putting ShipGen as the generator in my bukkit.yml, but then it gave a yml error and reset my bukkit.yml. Could you put what exactly to put in the bukkit.yml to get it to work?
@iGamingStudioX
While this is more cpu intensive than vanilla, it does scale by how many people you have online and exploring. So if you have a small server and you are so worried about generation lag, you can just go ahead and pregenerate a ton of land.
Also, please keep it PG-13 in the comments.
Will be new version with structures compatible with old version? I mean - I don't want to reset the whole map... my players built many buildings here... And I don't want any chunk errors or something like that with new version...
