bLikify
(A picture by Shikariwilly that sums up what this plugin is about)
Summary
Now, all of us know of the popular plugin votifier, but most of us also realize the small sphere of influence that most voting websites have. People might see your post on the minecraft server list if they look, but odds are that the casual gamer who just wants a few friends to play with won't even look at the website. This is where bLikify shines. Basically, bLikify offers a way to reward players (run commands) when they like your facebook page. This brings the same form of advertisement, but on a much more popular platform.
NOTE! The like page cannot contain CAPITALS! ALL LOWERCASE MUST BE USED!!
Also records the email, because people are like and unlike
@Beuteugeu
What type of problems are you having?
Not working. :/
@Dunsuro
Awesome! Glad to hear things are being optimized further. :)
@jflory7
I made it ping facebook less. Now it should only ping facebook for statistics when it needs to. :)
@Dunsuro
Fantastic news! What all did you change specifically?
@erik1988
Version 1.0.3 has been uploaded to Bukkit!
When bukkit approves the file, you will be able to download it from this page. It should solve all of your lag related problems!
Great plugin!
However I noticed that when the network of our server was having problems. bLikify slowed down the server the TPS went down to almost 15, I run a "/lag examine" whne it happend and saw that your plugin had a relly long responce time. So I wonder if the plugin use a seperate thread.
Im not saying this plugin caused our network to get unstable, it was probably ddos or some other stuff. But it seems like it slowed down the MC-server task.

It prevents a player from unliking and reliking the Facebook page because it stores the player's username in an array so that account can't do it again.

It already only lets you like once.
You could make a variable "<playername>liked" that defaults to false, and gets set to true when someone likes your page. Therefore only one like is allowed. (It only gives items if the variable is false)
Edit: They could like then un-like, but most people won't do that.
@pyrollamasteak
hmm good point, this could be a HUGE way to abuse servers... infinately liking and unliking the page to recieve items/rewards etc? :/
@pyrollamasteak
Nothing, I can't counter it. Facebook sadly limits us in that way.
What will you do to counter people liking then un - liking?
Sorry all, there was a bug in this last version. It kept it from working properly. I've uploaded a new version to bukkit. Once they approve it, you'll be able to download and use it.
@Dunsuro
Perhaps it could be done by tying the Facebook API into the Bukkit plugin? I'm not sure if that's possible, but I'm just throwing ideas out there!
@ceoepts
Potentially. I could look into that for a future version. This way however, a user simply likes the page to get a reward. And the facebook page isn't cluttered with usernames. It doesn't seem like the 1 user cap is a terrible thing to wait for, most page likes only take a few seconds.
@Dunsuro
Ive seen that multiple servers around the world are using a way so you have to like and comment your username on the page. Couldnt you try get all the comments and see if any comment contains the name of a player and if no other comment with that name has sent another username
Hey Dunsuro,
Glad you posted the plugin on BukkitDev. I will have to experiment with it again as I have tried numerous times to get it working, but it doesn't register my Facebook page.
