zPetProtect
Summary
zPetProtect is a simple, straightforward response to this plugin request. It makes tamed wolves immune from any player damage coming from a player other than their owner.
Specifically, it blocks damage from the following sources:
- Projectiles
- Fire (in case they attempt to grief past this protection by putting a fire down)
- Fire ticks (same as above)
- Block explosions (placing TNT, again, to try and grief your puppy)
- Entity Attacks of all types coming from players (not other entities)
To-Do
- Cats & other tamable creatures options
- "PvP" support that makes the pet wolves damageable if that wolf has damaged you (so wolves aren't invincible in PvP).
- Permissions Support
- Message configuration [config file]
- Message display toggling [config file]
- Damage source control

dropposite Jan 26, 2013 at 17:04 UTC - 0 likesHeres an idea
I have this growing problem on my server of people who 'sit' their wolves, and leave them there or they forget where they put them....Or some players accidently 'sit' their wolves and dont realize until later, and they dont know if the wolf is dead or all alone in the wilderness crying his lonely puppy square eyes out.
I am not aware of a way or a plugin that will let u 'locate' ur lost puppies.
Perhaps something silly like the player posts a sign on the ground that says [Lost Dog]. The player can then click the sign and it will return the coordinates of any trained wolves owned by the player that isnt in that chunk. Im not very creative either, but I do know that we certainly need a way to find missing dogs.

Aye it's not exactly designed with PvP servers in mind :) Quite the opposite in fact.
Maybe in the future I'll add some functionality that makes the wolf damageable if that wolf has damaged you. I'll add it to my "to-do" list.

I stopped playing MC for a year. You can tame cats now?!
If so, I will add functionality for cats (and other tameable creatures?).

There is no folder or config (yet).
As for the name: I had originally called this plugin "Refresher", which was a broad "first plugin I'm making to refresh my memory of Bukkit". Obviously thats changed. I uploaded LeaveMyWolfAlone v1.1. Once the file is approved by Bukkit (give it a few hours), the proper names will be there.... (itll say "LeaveMyWolfAlone enabled", not "Refresher Enabled", etc).
There still won't be a config though.
What sort of configuration were you looking for? I could potentially add it.

Freejack01 Jan 24, 2013 at 06:52 UTC - 0 likesProblem is it is not LeaveMyWolfAlone when it loads it is Refresher which does not create a folder for config.
