Introduction
This simple plugin allows players to use standard creative flight while in survival mode. Permissions can be set to control who can fly using this plugin.

Features
In the past, this plugin served the purpose of re-enabling client-side flymods after a Bukkit update broke them. A side effect of this functionality was that unmodded clients gained the ability to fly using creative flight while in survival mode. As Bukkit no longer blocks flymods, the original purpose of this plugin is obsolete; however, there was enough interest in the side-effect of creative-fly-in-survival to continue development of this plugin for that purpose. Use the bukkit permission node [coming soon] to grant users the ability to creative fly while in survival mode. This plugin does not have any effect on the use of flymods like VoxelFlight and Zombe's flymod.
any update to a permission node?
Can you add support to Adventure mode?
I'm curious if other servers are seeing this problem too, but in 1.4.6 but if you doublejump to enable flight it won't work the first time, but does the 2nd time. Then to disable flying, it wont work the first time, but does the 2nd try. Its consistent in working every other time. I think its a client bug when a plugin like this sends the packet saying "you can fly" while the player is in survival mode.
After much consideration we have decided to continue development of this plugin for the purpose of enabling creative fly for unmodded clients in survival mode. We will release an update that supports permission-based flying very soon.
@VoxelModPack Any chance we can download a dev version? I really don't want my survival world to be flying all the time. But do want easy flight in the non-creative build world.
Is the mod supposed to remove fall damage no matter what? I can fall from y=256 and take no damage and that is without flying up that high first.
@VoxelModPack I would love if you added permission support either way. This plugin would be a much better alternative to MagicCarpet.
We have a permissions-compatible test version of IBelieveICanFly; however, in our testing it seems that the latest builds of Bukkit no longer block flying. We will test this further to determine whether or not IBelieveICanFly is still necessary for any purpose.
@tjones965
Yes, just tested it.
Is this also compatible with bukkit 1.3.2-r1.0?
@Nistune1
I can confirm that the upcoming permissions update is exactly what you need to block/enable the flying ability for certain groups of people.
@VoxelModPack
Sounds great! Thanks a bunch!
@Nistune1
This mod gives everyone Creative Fly, which is not part of zombe's, but part of the game itself. As for blocking this plugin for certain groups, permissions support is not yet included with this plugin, however it seems that they are well on their way to adding it. :)
As a temporary fix, you can disable this plugin and use permissions to allow access to essentials.fly instead, which will allow players with the permission to use /fly to enable Creative Fly (assuming you have Essentials installed).
I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. =P

I would really like to be able to give my mods and admins the ability to use Zombe, but it seems when I have this installed it bypasses nocheat and every player can use Zombes creative flying. This a feature or is there a way to block this plugin for certain groups?
@Llamasquishy
Yes, we will most likely switch to using vault prior to releasing the update.
@VoxelModPack
Would it be possible for you to support EssentialsGroupManager as well? Either that, or just support Vault so that it supports both? Vault would probably be the easiest solution as once you support Vault it will support everything supported BY Vault (Permissions 3, bPermissions, PEX, GroupManager, PermissionsBukkit, zPermission, SimplyPerms). Just a suggestion! :)
@XeonG8
Xeon, I have never seen anyone flub up so badly using VoxelFlight. All of the features you say are not there are in fact there. The official release thread will explain everything. Not being released separately until single-player support is done (it is nearly done).
@fatmarleys
Very soon. It will take advantage of PEX permissions. It will also re-enable fall damage for those that are not flying.
eta on the release with permissions, kind sir?
ok ignore my last message, made a litemod out of the voxelfly package in the modpack, and it all works.
Just some things I noticed (no where else to report them)
Seem to have same problem as zombe mod where [lshift] cannot be used as a speedKey, when its binded as a sneak key in minecraft, using it just halts all forward movement. I don't know how cjb flymod gets around it, but would be much more useful if when you can have [f] to use voxelfly, and the [lshift] key then works properly as a speed modifier. I removed the sneak key off [lshift] for the moment, but it wuld be nice to have it back on that key.
And another slight quirk of cjbfly mod, was that you could [f] to fly, [lshift] to flyfast, then [f] to go out of flying, and while still holding [lshift] you would have faster movement, while free falling as gravity pulls you to the ground and you can carry on running on the ground even faster.. was fun, instead on voxelfly soon as you toggle out of [f], all forward momentum is lost and [lshift] is ignored.
Also I thought voxelfly might communicate to the server that its flying, but I dunno it still seems to require me to use a command like /flight on or /fly on the server, and then use the client mod. If I don't then I still get the problem of WE selection commands being inaccurate. Its a slight annoyance that was never a problem pre 1.3 when you could just fly and not have to remember to use some fly command before hand everytime you switch out of gamemode.
Is there no way the client mod can communicate that ? I thought it was meant to...
"Minecraft Forums will just tear it apart if it does not work in single-player,"
Give them a notice saying so.. its missing some sort of GUI to config the keys /settings in game, which would make it more complete, with maybe some settings like use cinematic mode by default, then the player doesn't have to use another key to enable it.
@VoxelModPack
bah vanilla Singleplayer is naff :D
If I go rip it out of the VoxelModPack.. is that likely to work? or would it be needing extra voodoo magic to work without the rest of the Pack?
Oh hangon, I'm only asking about VoxelFlight because you mentioned it had some cinematic mode, ie better 3d fly.. is that included in VoxelFlight mod that is in the VoxelModPack or is that the version that is not done yet?
Because that VoxelModPack hasn't been updated in a while....
@XeonG8
It has been released in the latest VoxelModPack and BronyModPack but I am hesitant to release it on its own right now because it currently does not support single-player. A lot of extra code will need to be added for single player support. I would rather wait until single-player support is ready before releasing it by itself as everyone on the Minecraft Forums will just tear it apart if it does not work in single-player,
