Compressors
Compressors
Compressors lets you turn a regular minecraft hopper into a "Compressor" simply by placing a sign on the side of it. A compressor acts similarly to a regular hopper, but depending on the recipe it's configured with, it will collect raw materials until it has enough to 'compress' them into a larger storage-block form. This means gold nuggets -> ingots -> blocks. redstone -> redstone blocks etc. All automatically.
Features
- Recipes are fully configurable
- Multi-world support
- per-recipe sign-creation permissions.
- multiple-step compressions (nugget->ingot->block)
Commands
- None
Permissions
- 'compressors.create.*' - players with this permission can create any compressor sign.

- EnhancedFishing - Adds tons of fishing enhancements including complete control over the bite chance.
- PotatoBombs - Allows players to craft poisonous potatoes into devastating and hillarious magical landmines.

- Autocrafter - Turns droppers into redstone powered crafting tables.
Got it to work in 1.8.8 spigot.
Great plugin. The key to making it work is you cant fill the compressor/hopper by hand. Put a chest or another hopper on top. works perfect after that.
@palipali
Well, this plugin hasn't been updated since 1.5.1, so it doesn't surprise me that it doesn't work properly. Does it spit out any error in the console?
Hi, compressor works for me when I hit to hopper - not automatically. One hit - one block. Does everybody knows, why? My server is 1.6.4. Thanks a lot!
@metalhedd
If you want to avoid using a command for naming them you could look over the code I used to name keys in my LoreLocks plugin
The two used events are at line 275 and 311.
Only problem when using this method: The player needs a certain threshold of exp levels and after usage the client side display is until the next time exp are updated.
@Der_Wisch
That's a pretty good idea, I still have some issues I want to work out with this plugin, but I will add that to my to-do list, along with a way to give them custom names without the anvil XP cost.
Since you can rename inventories you can create hoppers where for example "Compressor" stands ontop of the inventory instead of "Hopper".
Have you thought about adding a config option to enable compressors to be created simply by placing a hopper named "Compressor"?
This would allow more compact designs as you would need no space for signs :)
@metalhedd
Wow! You just made me have a duh moment! :)

I will try to look into this today, I'm not completely happy with how this plugin is working, it does seem to have a bug or 2, so if I can't sort it out I may have to take down the plugin. Autocrafter can provide the same functionality in a slightly different way.
I tried to setup a contraption like you had in the video, with 9 hoppers crammed together. Stuff flowed through the first 4 hoppers and then stopped to a standstill. Apparently the compressors like to hang on to things they don't need too. Sadly there was no console output to help pinpoint the bug.
@CommodoreAlpha
It does support damage values, see the lapis block for an example:
9xINK_SACK's with a data value of 4 will compress to 1 LAPIS_BLOCK. I'm not sure I understand your request about the recipes, as it is now they're fully configurable, you can have your dream now just by editing the config file.
Does this have support for items with damage values?
For example, I might only want "plain" iron ingots with the damage value of 0 to be compressable, whereas all other iron ingots with any other damage value won't be compressable.
Also, I think it would be interesting (and better) to have configurable "recipes" rather than the current system (where you have to account for all the combinations yourself), because it gives more configuration, and because it automatically includes support for damage values (I would presume). With this idea, I can make my lifelong dream of turning planks into logs without a workbench true.
@RustyDagger
Actually, I"ve been working on it, but its quite a bit different. I'm calling it autocraft and it works with droppers. I may get a development build up tonight.
edit: watch this space http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/auto-craft/
That's a shame because the way your doing this would make for a very neat and tidy way to add the auto crafting table from those Mods into a bukkit server.
@RustyDagger
No, only single item, recipes are supported.
Its unclear From the video but can multi item crafts be "Compressed"
Such as say making a Piston or Repeater.
