About the plugin:
ChatWarn v.3.2 |
Update coming soon(ish)! I had a major plugin that had priority over this... sorry :(
ChatWarn is a plugin that is designed to let players know what the penalty of swearing is. It's whatever you decide (kind of) ! ChatWarn can ban, kick, kill, and soon more, to a player who decides that they want to push the limits.
Features:
- Censors a max of 3 words
- Replaces each word with another configurable word
- Warns the player
- Offers 2 penalties at a certain number of warnings
- 3 different types of penalties for each penalty number ("kick", "ban", or "kill")
- Configurable warning messages
- Info in log/console
I will add more penalties if you ask! Customizable penalties are the whole point of this plugin :D
How to use:
To put this plugin into action you just need to define your censored words, replacement words, and choose a penalty. It's already in the config!

Soon! I'm clean up a bunch of crappy coding i did, when I first made this.
There will be many fixed/improved and new features! I'm much better at coding now thankfully!

seanmrice Jan 08, 2012 at 05:20 UTC - 0 likesHow about this, add the option to run a command from the command prompt. That way if players swear, a virtually limitless amount of punishments can be implemented, with minimal unnecessary features/punishments that one person wants and nobody else will use?

It'd be cool to use this as a "Swear Jar", and at the end of say, a week, a player (who hasn't sworn in the last week) gets randomly selected to recieve the contents of the swear jar.

daraeman Dec 19, 2011 at 03:44 UTC - 0 likesI really like this plugin! There's only one drawback I can see, I'd like more than 3 words to censor.

Oh okay, i see what you mean! I think i'll try to do that sometime. Gotta update the config methods i use though, but as soon as that's done it should be easy to make the word replacement better.
I think if I do something like what you suggested i'll have the option "none" to both the penalty and replacement paths in the config.

Liger_XT5 Dec 03, 2011 at 07:14 UTC - 0 likesTo clear up any confusion, the post below is suggestions.
Putting it clearer, the current filter I have is just a built in filter from iChat. All it does is put *** in place of the words.
What I'd like is to not filter the words, but charge the person per "filtered" word or combo
The following the chat message from the player, a notice would be either sent via public or just to the player stating they were fined X amount.
Details at MineCraftPlanet!

Liger_XT5 Nov 23, 2011 at 07:45 UTC - 0 likesMy server isn't all that popular, but the current filter I have just makes things a bit awkward. I wouldn't mind leaving the filter disabled, yet punish them in a less sudden-reaction notice. Maybe set a fee for cussing, possibly for each word or 3-word phrase?
Just to make things more interesting, after they have said something with cuss words, a message will come up, either in public, or just to the player, stating they were fined for cussing with the total amount.
