What's Heroes Skills
So I was messing arround with making skills for my own server and I decided that I had a good amount of them to start something on BukkitDev and share them with you guys. Hope you enjoy it.
The Skills
- Critical: (Passive) Chance to deal extra damage to target
- FirstAid: Auto-heals a percentage of the hero's health
- Heal: Heals a percentage of target hero's heals
- KickSand: Kicks sand from the gound and deals Earth damage to target. Must be on sand to use it
- Repulse: Pulls the target away
- SummonArrow: Summons a set amount of arrows
- SuperCharge: Shoots an extra-charged arrow
- BlastResistance: (Passive) Absorbs part of explosive damage
- SkillSharpShot: Same as SuperCharge but deals percentage damage and has chance to deal twice as much and stun
- SkillRetrieveArrow: (Passive) Chance of retrieving the arrow that killed the target
- Lunge: Deals damage to target and pushes it back a few blocks. Must be used with spade in hand
- FireTrap: Marks a block as a trap block. If a player steps on it, the block and all the blocks arround it are set on fire
- Grenade: Throws a primed TNT to the direction the player is looking at
- FireWalk: Sets all blocks the player walk on fire
- SpiritRecovery: (Toggle-able Passive) heals extra HP and Mana while stopped but leaves caster more vulnerable
- DoubleCombo: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after dealing consecutive attacks
- ComboChain: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after DoubleCombo
- ComboFinish: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after ComboChain

CREATE:
- Sell: Sells item in hand for given value
- HeavyCoins: Uses money to deal damage to target
- Investigate: Deals ranged physical damage
- AsuraStrike: Can be used a few seconds after FinishCombo. Drains all remaining Mana from caster and deals great damage based on the amount ot Mana drained.
- CreatePoison: Gives the player a Potion of Poison II Extended
- Clones of Sandkick, like Dirtkick and Gravelkick (any more suggestions on this? would be fun to have Obsidiankick)
- Scan
- Reach 34 skills!
MODIFY:
- BlastResistance: Add interaction with SkillShield to absorve more damage
- Lunge: (Try to) make the required set of weapons configurable

Compatibility
As of v4.1, these skills are all compatible with the Heroes Skill Tree! Simply use the nodes generated on skill.yml that contain "hst-" on them. They will increase/decrease that given amount for each skill level, instead of using the player's level.

Multiskills also contains Critical. There is no difference in the skills either?

What skill are you trying to use exactly? Also, do you get any error logs?
What's with this "Unrecognized command" thing? I put the skills in and try using a heroes command, but all that happens is "Unrecognized command". :(

This is a known issue and you're not the only one.
He's working on it for next release. hopefully by then :)
Not sure if a bug. or just me doing something wrong.
anyway, the skill Critical, dosent seem to work the way it should.
i have set it up like this: Critical: level: 1 chance: 1.0 damage-multiplier: 2.0
But it dosent do 2.5 times the dmg at all time. my weapons is sat for 10 dmg. so it should do 20 dmg but i only do 10, pretty much all the time.

sorry about this delay. HST took a lot of my time to get it finaly fixed, plus some very bad bugs happening on my own server due to the massive plugin update the I recently ran. I'm working on these skills aside from all this but it's just not advancing a lot for now :S but don't worry, I also want those skills to work a lot haha i have plans for them @_@

as for the ModHealth, I already test with it :P it is truly helpful. but I think it might be the case to go into the server to see exactly what is happening. also, if possible, a full startup log of the server might help.
as for the second post, here's exactly how the combo system works: you hit the target once. The doublecombo skill calculates of you will gain combo based on the chance you set up. If it does, the NEXT hit will be multiplied by the attack if the second hit is dealt less then the especified duration (recomended arroud 100). Then, IF you deal a second combo, it will repeat the process for the combo chain, final combo and the asura strike (when I finish it) with the exception that the asura strike will be an actual usable skill so ppl will have to be realy fast to use it. So the first hit will never be multiplied. You have to attack multiple times (this the name "combo").
I'm managing to control this damage cooldown by now and I should come up with somewhat of a fix tomorrow or the day after. It should also stop the "player double combled" message to spam the chat all the time ;)

1) my critical multipliers range from 1.2-2.0 but my damages start at like 20 so its enough to always go up a whole integer
2) I use a combination of Health bars Plus and Mobhealth RPG style dmg so i can always see exactly how much damage im doing
feel free to come test stuff on my private server if seeing your exact damage and health at all times would help you debug

ok I think i know what's the problem with the combo ones but how much damage are you attemting to multiply with critical?
because it's realy working for me. if the damage you are trying to multiply is greater then 4 (which probably is) then it should be working... that is for a multiplier of 1.2
as for the heroesskilltree, you shouldn't need it to use the skills. Both are completly independent of each other.
the combos multiply the damage because it's easier to set up and understand the impact of that skill. If I tell you it deals 100 extra damage you cant tell if it's strong or not because you don't know how much damage is dealt naturaly but if I tell yo uit deals 5 times more damage you know it's strong regardless of the natural damage.
and as for repulse being fun, YES, it is :D put force at 10 and use on a pig fom below and watch it fly in the air. supercharge is also awesome at hight settings. arrows go crazy :P btw, the arrow deflection is only visual. it hits the target very well.
Almost forgot that i took Critical out of shinobis class Heres my warriors one
Maybe if you make the double combo add to the hit damage instead of occuring as a seperate bonus? no idea if that's possible

okay even when i put criticals upto a high percent. it still never seems to proc several my heroes have critical in different percents and multiples
I wonder if maybe its cause I dont have hero skill trees? (wierd but maybe)

I'm trying to fix this issue with the combo skills. It seems the problem happens because the entity got damaged before and is temporarely imvincible. So it attempts to deal more damage to it but it fails.
But yeah, one of your class.yml containing the skill would help. Same for Critical.

On a side note don't forget that many stabbing weapons commonly use Lunging attacks
In particular a fencing foil or epee! :)

Hey mate I've been unable for the last 2-3 releases to get any extra damage out of Critical
I was really looking foward too double combo but even though its saying "used double combo" "used combochain" it's never doing any extra damage
plugin is loading fine and no errors are being reported
Can you elabourate on the Critical not working correctly that you've mentioned in changelogs?
I can bring you to my server to see or post my configs. or anything else you might need. I'm an experienced user and im positive my versions are all in order.
What other info can i give you to help me remedy this?
I love having different levels of crit on my different heroes for more randomness to combat

a lunge is an attack dealt with the forwarding movement of the top of a long weapon, as seen here. I associated it with spear attack and a spade resambles a spear and is used like to on many servers. But I will see if there is any easy way to make this configurable ;)
Sandkick used sand only because... I can't relay change the name of a skill without making a whole new one, so sandkick being performed on dirt would be wierd. What I can do for you is make "clones" of SandKick, such as the ones you suggested.
