What's Heroes Skills
So I was messing arround with making skills for my own server and I decided that I had a good amount of them to start something on BukkitDev and share them with you guys. Hope you enjoy it.
The Skills
- Critical: (Passive) Chance to deal extra damage to target
- FirstAid: Auto-heals a percentage of the hero's health
- Heal: Heals a percentage of target hero's heals
- KickSand: Kicks sand from the gound and deals Earth damage to target. Must be on sand to use it
- Repulse: Pulls the target away
- SummonArrow: Summons a set amount of arrows
- SuperCharge: Shoots an extra-charged arrow
- BlastResistance: (Passive) Absorbs part of explosive damage
- SkillSharpShot: Same as SuperCharge but deals percentage damage and has chance to deal twice as much and stun
- SkillRetrieveArrow: (Passive) Chance of retrieving the arrow that killed the target
- Lunge: Deals damage to target and pushes it back a few blocks. Must be used with spade in hand
- FireTrap: Marks a block as a trap block. If a player steps on it, the block and all the blocks arround it are set on fire
- Grenade: Throws a primed TNT to the direction the player is looking at
- FireWalk: Sets all blocks the player walk on fire
- SpiritRecovery: (Toggle-able Passive) heals extra HP and Mana while stopped but leaves caster more vulnerable
- DoubleCombo: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after dealing consecutive attacks
- ComboChain: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after DoubleCombo
- ComboFinish: (Passive) Chance of doing extra damage after ComboChain

CREATE:
- Sell: Sells item in hand for given value
- HeavyCoins: Uses money to deal damage to target
- Investigate: Deals ranged physical damage
- AsuraStrike: Can be used a few seconds after FinishCombo. Drains all remaining Mana from caster and deals great damage based on the amount ot Mana drained.
- CreatePoison: Gives the player a Potion of Poison II Extended
- Clones of Sandkick, like Dirtkick and Gravelkick (any more suggestions on this? would be fun to have Obsidiankick)
- Scan
- Reach 34 skills!
MODIFY:
- BlastResistance: Add interaction with SkillShield to absorve more damage
- Lunge: (Try to) make the required set of weapons configurable

Last, but, certainly, not least, I would like to thank the bukkit/minecraft community, especially other developers, that are always there to help on both forums whenever starters, like me, need them. I hope that one day I can pay it back and help people arround with their issues and I hope this colaborative spirit never dies within this community.

Compatibility
As of v4.1, these skills are all compatible with the Heroes Skill Tree! Simply use the nodes generated on skill.yml that contain "hst-" on them. They will increase/decrease that given amount for each skill level, instead of using the player's level.

Ah right, the rebirth system. RO did a good job of it prior to it's extreme level cap increase. Mine is basically about territory takeover, resource control, and of course just standard PVP. I worry if I go to far in terms of "promotions" I will have to worry about prior jobs/classes being able to handle that, mind you in RO it was a 100 stat point @ lvl 1 (may have changed past 3-1/3-2 jobs) which wasn't "huge" but was a boost. I most likely will get to that point tho, sooner or later, but I'll spend like 4 days trying to balance everything out along with the enchants/potions/etc that all came out after the server shutdown prior. It was someone's I was working on. I'm a bit crazy when it comes to "balance" in PVP, but that's why it's more enjoyable.

What we have in mind is having some kind of "reborn" class after they master the tier 3 ones, someting like prestige mode on CoD. It's like starting over but stronger and with an already defined path. The whole thing is just about not making ppl bored hahaha. Once they reach max level they always want to get stronger somehow.

Played on KR beta, then moved to NA beta, then played on a buddy's account to about 60 before working on emulation. Now adays, ya you have to pay to win...
But ya, the 17 classes I have were the same I had when when I found heroes (Pre-1.2.5) xD thus kept it for awhile. I might make tier 3... but idk. I might just make more options rather then another promotion. I think once I hit 30 classes I'll be happy with it.

Yeah it's Ragnarok Online. I was never good at the game as I never got past the first class on the official game, which lead me to go on private servers that were too easy to level up and you only have fun on PvP, where you only have a chance by buying premium stuff. But still it's an awesome game.
And i'm going completly crazy with classes. I'v got 26 classes with other 16 being planned and we already have plans for classes after those :O One day I will get lost inside my own classes but, whatever, it's fun xD

Great, game, still emulate for it. Granted... past novice, 1, 2-1/2-2, and maybe 3-1/3-2 they classes went crazy. My old blacksmith now promotes to some Mech-Rider of lawlersauce. Granted... most servers are derp insta-level and sadly gave away my accounts on legit.
I'm basing mine off a game called "Shadowbane", to an extent, but obviously minecraft is much different and adopted the promotion tiers. So far have 17 classes (Starter, 4 "base" classes, and 3 options of promotion all of which do their own thing) granted debating on "builder" classes like on some other servers for cities... but eh that's another time.

Thanks for your support, it's realy important for me. I relay like making these and realy help me with coding. And there's even the great bonus of being able to do stuff on minecraft, which is a game I like a lot, that I used to do on a game from my childhood, which was Ragnarok and I do take a lot of my ideas from that game.
Good luck on your quest to go back making skills. If you need any help, please do ask. As I said below, I also hang out a lot on #Heroes. It was very important for me and still is. Plus, every once in a while, I get to help someone and that's great!

Solid skills, I'm getting back into Heroes' as well and attempting to bring back old skills. (Rejuvenate, Group Teleport, lots of Multi's old skills, Force Push/Pull, Silence, Revive, and many many more)
Sadly, not entirely fantastic at it and previously Multi had the source (.java files) thus alot less editing required and seeing how it is written. Had most of them fixed up until the 1.3.0+ changes, now back to square one since our old database is gone. Guess I'll have to hang in #Heroes on esper to figure it all out again, but glad to see people are still making skills.

His tutorial might be old but prety much everything there should work. I learned to make skills with his tutorials and with hanging a lot on #Heroes channel @ esper.net where I still hang out a lot :P
But well, I might make a new tutorial anytime soon anyways. Maybe since I learned from it I can add more useful hints that weren't included and I whish they were...

It would be realy nice but I don't want to keep up with too much stuff atm. I went from 0 to 2 projects on BukkitDev in a few days, plus my own server plus college. I'll first finish at least my other project before getting started on something new. But thanks for your support!
Good work! You should do abilities/skills for this plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/bukkitgames/ !!! It would be very great if you do it. You can see in comment page 8/9 (change if theres new comment) that the developer looking for someone that can make abilities for them! Good job anyway! :)
Nice. Could you do a tutorial for skills? I've tried to use Multitallented's tutorial, but it's outdated. I'd help you make new skills, and I'd come up with ideas!

about the "34" skills... :o i'm completly sorry about that haha. I wrote "3 ~ 4" skills but for some reason it killed the ~
but well, someday i'll reach 34 skills. i'll put that on my TODO list ;) we'll celebrate it by then. it's an awesome mark
