Unusuals
Unusual Hats in Minecraft!
What is Unusuals?
Unusuals is a plugin I made over the course of a few hours because I felt like it. What it does is add Unusual hats (like in TF2) to Minecraft. These hats have an unusual effect attached to them, which is defined in the config. When a player is wearing one, their hat will emit particles as per its configuration. So, a Burning Flames helmet will emit flame particles. You can also configure the speed and radius of the particles, as well as the tick interval between particles spawning and the number to spawn each time.
How do I start using it?
To start using Unusuals, just drop it in your plugins folder. Then, use the command "/unusual spawn ITEM_NAME Effect Name" to add an unusual with the given effect to your inventory. For example, "/unusual spawn DIAMOND_HELMET Burning Flames" will spawn a Burning Flames Diamond Helmet. If you want to add custom effects, see the predefined ones for reference, as well as this page for a list of usable particle effects.
Will it break between Minecraft versions?
No. The plugin supports Minecraft versions going back to 1.7.10 via its legacy NMS hooks, and will support new versions for the forseeable future courtesy of the native particle API introduced in Bukkit for 1.9.

There's a way in Vanilla to do this using command blocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLHw9mIZ4mA
Need 1.10 update

@JimboTheCoolGuy12
Er, I haven't worked with this plugin in a good while. I'll have to go back over it this weekend to re-figure out how it works this weekend and get back to you.
Just to get the ball rolling, though, what server software and version are you using?
My effects are not showing up, and i have Essentials installed, can you look at it? The console says enjoy your unusual, but only the item name is purple and i only see the effect: ''Effect Name'' in the items description, but no effect has showing up,
Greetings Jimmy
@bruceweed
It will work with most Bukkit-based servers. I'm not too familiar with Tekkit, but if it's not built off Bukkit, it most likely will not work.
Does this work with tekkit or other modded servers? Reason I ask is with the cauldron and all from tekkit.
@caseif Thank you, still.Do you know any particle libs that work with cauldron?
@mjra007
Unfortunately it was private work, so I can't publicly provide it.
@caseif
Could i get that build too, thank you.
@red0fireus
PMed you.
@caseif
I'm not sure if you remember me but we chatted on skype last year sometime i believe and you made me a custom unusuals plugin that worked with Cauldron/KCauldron. I was wondering do you still have this build available for me to download or get somewhere? I had to reset my PC since then and i lost the jar file. If you do have the jar could you send it to me through MediaFire or Dropbox thanks!
@Swebl
Does it give a stack trace while enabling?
Could you update it to 1.8? Because it does not work if you try to use it on a 1.8 server
@Maskedcreeper100
Glad to hear it's working now. I'll consider adding armor stand support.
A cool feature would be for effects on hats while on armor stands. For display.
@caseif
Thank you so much! I finally got it working.
@Maskedcreeper100
Yep, right here.
@caseif
Ok, so it seems now that villager_happy is fixed, it moves on to having the error with the witch particle effect. Do you happen to have a list of all the particle names so I can replace them for the moment?
