Makes players chop the entire tree log by log, from top to bottom!
I fully support the other plugins that do this, but some of them are outdated, have horrible tree detection, or they just let players dig the whole tree in one chop. Even when they remove the correct durability, this still is a bit of an unfair advantage because it then only takes 1 second to break a whole tree!
So I've tried to make this plugin work perfectly in every way: players will spend approximately the same time, the same durability and will get the same drop.
TreeAid

Metrics
This plugin uses MCStats to collect information about plugin usage. Of course, this is strictly anonymous, and you can easily opt out via plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml. The NSA isn't watching your server ;) You can of course see for yourself what data is collected on the MCStats site, just the basic stuff: how many servers, how many players, which Bukkit version, etc.
@olgnet
It should work for 1.5.2 I think. Have you tried?
Please! Create version for 1.5.2!
@subarct1c
No problem!
Large oak trees should have the branches detected, that's completely implemented and has never failed for me in my 100+ tests. Except of course if there's another tree touching it that's closer to the branches then the original tree, this is impossible for a computer to distinguish between.
@Muizers
I was able to figure out why players couldn't use it, seems NoCheatPlus was blocking the action. As for the tree detection I look forward to the option. I've also noticed some of the larger oak trees don't always have the branches detected, but I understand that might be hard to do.
Thanks for the quick response!
@subarct1c
It was actually my intention for the jungle trees to be detected that way, but I will make a config option to change it soon.
Permissions worked for me, I'll test it out again.
EDIT: Permissions work for me! Make sure your players are not in creative mode ;)
Using version 1 Update 1, it would see permissions are ignored for non-ops. I've give my players the 'treeaid.use' node, and checked it with PermissionsEx to see if its true for their rank, but it still does not enable the plugin for that group. Ops seem to have it by default just because of the way permissions work.
I've also noticed it does not always detect the large 2x2 jungle trees correctly, and will either leave the top half of the trunk in tact, or not cut down the entire tree, but do it in columns.
Thanks for the great plugin, and keep up the good work!
Does this also support the message now? :D
@ViscousSummer88

I love this plugin.and I have some suggestions:
@Muizers
Thank you, that would be great. Also, thanks for working on the logging side of things, that's some kinda essentials :)
What about saplings being planted after the tree has been cut down?
@LeChuuck
No, I have NO idea how Feed The Beast works sorry.
@ViscousSummer88
You are right in assuming grief plugins currently don't log this. I'm trying to find a solution! :)
Yes I will add some customizable messages so people know what's going on in the future haha.
@P197
If another plugin stops the player from breaking the tree, it will still not happen, so that works.
Well, I now think it has potential. One request: make it understand Anti-Greif plugins like Residence and GreifPrevention. Possibly if part of the tree is in a claim, it can't be cut down.
Subscribed to the project. I see potential now.
Tried it and I will be adding this to my server, a couple of things I would like to request, if you added this it would be great.
When chopping a tree down, it replants the sapling? And when you start chopping a tree it says a message to state that the tree is cutting, or that there are x amount of chops left be for the tree chopped down, because people think they are just lagging as they cant see it breaking.
Alos a question, does anti-grief plugins understand this, such as logblock, can the understand that the user broke all the blocks?
Does it support custom logs aka FTB?
@P197
It's really nice. I've had many positive comments from players on actual servers that run this.
The concept is not having to go into weird positions to cut trees, or leave the tree top. And there's no better solution than this :) (for Survival servers)
If it's gonna take the same ammount of time to cut a tree, it defeats the entire concept.
