Tobi Motd
Tobi Motd is a simple Motd plugin (Like the one in the server.propeties but this one
comes up after you are logged on)
To change the motd open the config.yml file in the Tobi Motd
directory. To use the motd codes you simply add them in the line. Example:
MOTD : 'Welcome %NAME%, The time is now %TIME%'
would if i logged in when the world time (not real time) was 17.15 become
Welcome rosaage, The time is now 17:15
The New codes won't work in console!
News:
Small fixes
Newest Version: 2.9!
Commands:
/motd - to show the motd
/setmotd - to set the motd ingame
/tm - to reload the config (after manual update of config.yml)
/tm help - Help menu
/tm timer - edit timer settings.. read /tm help for more info
/TobiGUI - Open TobiGUI (Buildt in config editor for TobiMotd)
The Timer:
I'm not sure if everyone knows about it but there is a timer in the plugin.
The timer will when it has counted down show a message to everyone.
You will not see the countdown.
Some info about the config:
- The Timer Message is the message that will display when the timer has counted down
(If you have more then one the plugin will choose one at random.) - Timer Minuets, Seconds and ticks. These set how long it will be between each message.
(20 Ticks is one second) And Will be added together so if the Timer Seconds is on 60, and
Timer Minutes is one 1 the message will display every 2 minutes. - Output to console is very easy to understand, It's basically if the message should be broadcast to the console or not.
- And of course to use this Timer Enabled has to be true, if not the timer won't even run.
Permissions (SuperPermissions) - If you are OP you don't need permissions
tobimotd.reload - needed to reload Tobi Motd
tobimotd.set - Needed to set the Motd ingame
tobimotd.TobiGUI - Needed to open TobiGUI
tombimotd.timer - Needed to use /tm timer

Colors Codes
@cyris69 10 min and I'll release 1.8 with fixes for the errors
Getting this error:
Not working for me using the 1.1 build. 'Error occured while enabling TobiMotd v1.7 (Is it up to date?)'
@Rosaage
%NL% is still broken for me with CB1.1
In the console using %NL% means that the end of the mssage is then missing, so using /setmotd Hi%NL%Dave gives the motd Hi
Doing the same thing in the config file, so MOTD: 'Hi%NL%Dave' gives the motd HiDave
Maybe interference from another plugin or internationalisation. I'll try changing language and see if it improves...
@ramsydk Thanks for pointing out that, and i think i fixed the /tm and i added a tobimotd.set permission
(defaults to op)
But not sure about the : tough, tried a couple of times but i could not reproduce
i used (in console) /setmotd http://youtube.com
and if i then used /motd (still in console) i got: http://www.youtube.com
@turbotas Worked for me in console with 1.6 craftbukkit 1798
Hi,
Great plugin thanks: perfect for what I need: just one tiny tiny problem: for some reason %NL% does not seem to work. Any ideas?
Cheers,
TurboTas
I've given my user tobimotd.reload permission but it still says I don't have access to /tm although a different message than when my user didn't have the permission.
Also, you can change the motd without op or the permission.
And doing "tm" in the console doesnt successfully update the motd either, have to stop / start server.
Also is there a way to allow ":", not sure if there are other signs not allowed.. but ":" would be nice in "http://"
And there seems to be an issue with newlines in the config text file, how should they be set?
Not familiar with Java but in C# you could save the string like: "Welcome!
n please go to http://blah.blah.blah to download"
@XeonG8
No but if anyone of u coders wanna know study the table all the colors are there in html format
slighty off topic.. but anyone know a site or could code one up, where you can write out a motd, and choose the colors realtime
like I put &4blah&7blah&4blah...and below it would be a output box that shows the color formatting infront of a picture taken from minecraft like one night and day backgrounds to compare colors? just something quick to test colors you don't have to be in game to test the colors in chat. When you want to do something for a plugin config, or motd...
Added %NL% for a new line
please add any tag for next line of motd like %S%
@visia101y
Hmm... You can try to recreate the config.
@rosaage:
yea im using the same 1718
@visia101y
What build of craftbukkit are you using? works fine with 1718 for me
for some reason when i log in with this message it gives me two of the motd. one on top of the other. Please tell me how to fix this :)
@BronzeByte
Hmm. I can try to make a MOTD.txt where you can edit the motd whould that be ok? And in the new version i added sopport for space in the /setmotd
@Rosaage: Thank you for your plugin, you just prevented me from writing a MOTD plugin and thus wasting 1 hour :)
Please add support for breaks and please just make it into a .txt file.
I also own a game servers forum which you may want to join a developer.
@Rosaage
I'm pretty fluent in using html. I also have some experience in php. If you still need some help just let me know.
Anyone good in html/php wanting to help me build a site? already own a domain and web hosting.
@I8NY
Fixed in v.1.3
